What is FTB Team Bases?

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.21.1 guide

FTB Team Bases is part of this pack, and you're running version 21.1.17 of it. It has been in the pack since version 1.5.1 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the mod list.[1]

Unverified The sources I have don't describe what FTB Team Bases does, who it is aimed at, or how its features work, so I'm not going to guess at them here. There are also no confirmed quests, recipes or config options for this mod, and nothing that places it on the ATM Star path or at a particular point in the pack's progression.

How do you get started with FTB Team Bases?

The only thing I can confirm about FTB Team Bases in this pack is that it adds the Portal Block, listed in the mod's own language file as "Portal Block".[2]

I don't have a crafting recipe, quest or config option for this mod in the pack, so I can't give you a first-steps order or a recipe block for it. I'd rather leave that out than guess.[2]

Unverified How you obtain the Portal Block, what it does, and how team bases are created or entered in this pack are not confirmed by the available sources.

How does FTB Team Bases work?

3 parts

The sources for this mod only cover its world generation data and one block name, so this section is short. Here is what is confirmed for this pack.[2][3][4]

The start structure

The mod registers a structure called ftbteambases:start. It sits in a structure set of the same name, and the set contains only that one structure, with a weight of 1.[3]

The set uses the placement type ftbteambases:one_chunk_only with cx 0 and cz 0. Going by the placement type and those values, the structure is meant to generate in a single chunk and not repeat across the world. The files don't spell out anything beyond that.[3]

The structure itself is generated in the top_layer_modification step, and its start height is set to an absolute value of 64.[4]

The ftbteambases:start structure set is also listed in the mod's default structure set tag.[5]

Where it can generate

The structure is allowed in any biome from the mod's has_structure/start tag. That tag covers the usual Overworld biomes (plains, forests, deserts, oceans, mountains and caves), plus Nether biomes like minecraft:nether_wastes and End biomes like minecraft:the_end. It also includes minecraft:the_void.[4][6]

The tag is set to not replace, so other data packs can add more biomes to it.[6]

The portal block

The mod's language file names one block, the Portal Block, shown in game as Portal Block.[2]

Unverified How the Portal Block behaves, how team bases are created and assigned, and whether the start structure is used for them is not covered by the sources. The mod has no config files in this pack and no recipes produce its items, so none of that can be confirmed here.

How do you progress through FTB Team Bases?

2 parts

There is no tier ladder to climb with FTB Team Bases in this pack. The pack's quests and recipes give no tiers or upgrade steps for this mod, so there is nothing to follow in order. What the mod's own data does show is how the starting structure is set up, and that is what this section covers.[3][4]

The start structure

The mod registers a single structure called ftbteambases:start. It sits in one structure set, also named start, with a weight of 1 and nothing else to choose from. That set uses the placement type one_chunk_only, with cx 0 and cz 0, so it is placed in just one chunk.[3]

The structure is generated at an absolute start height of 64, in the top_layer_modification generation step. It has no spawn overrides.[4]

The start structure set is also listed in the mod's default structure set tag.[5]

Where it can generate

The structure can start in any biome in the mod's start biome tag. That list is very broad. It covers the void, plains and forest variants, deserts, swamps, taigas, savannas, jungles, badlands, mountain and slope biomes, rivers, beaches and all the ocean types. It also includes mushroom fields, dripstone caves and lush caves, the Nether biomes (nether wastes, warped forest, crimson forest, soul sand valley and basalt deltas) and the End biomes (the end, highlands, midlands, small islands and barrens).[4][6]

Unverified Whether FTB Team Bases has tiers, upgrades or unlockable stages in this pack is not confirmed by the available sources, so none are described here.
