Ender Storage Chests with the same dye-coded frequency share the same inventory. Give two chests the same dye code and they open the same storage, wherever each one is placed.[2]
This also holds while a chest is on a contraption. Contraption actors can access the blocks from Ender Storage, so you can automate with them.[2]

The mod's in-game Ponder scene is called "Ender Storage Compatibility". It tells you that Ender Storage Chests with the same dye-coded frequency share the same inventory. So if two chests are set to the same colour combination, they open the same storage.[2]
Using them on contraptions
The same Ponder scene says the shared inventory still works while a chest is on a contraption. The blocks from Ender Storage can be reached by contraption actors, so you can use them for automation.[2]
In practice, a chest on a moving contraption can be linked to a chest at your base by matching their frequencies. The Ponder text states the shared inventory and the actor access. It doesn't spell out specific setups, so test your own builds.[2]
Which blocks are covered
