What is Bamboo Everything?

Bamboo Everything is a building-focused mod. It adds new blocks and items made from bamboo, and each block also comes with a dry texture variant, so you get a greener look and a drier, more weathered one.[1]

The project page shows ladders and fences among its offerings. That makes it a good fit if you like decorating your base and want more variety than plain bamboo gives you.[1]

The pack ships Bamboo Everything 21.1.2+mc1.21.1, the NeoForge build for Minecraft 1.21.1.[2]

Watch out: The project page says the raft is no longer in the latest versions of the mod. Don't plan around it. I can't confirm from the sources whether this pack's build includes it.[1]

Unverified The sources don't show where this mod fits in the pack's progression, and they don't show any pack-specific changes to its recipes or configs. Treat it as a decorative extra, not a progression requirement.

How do you get started with Bamboo Everything?

4 parts

Bamboo Everything adds extra building blocks made from bamboo, and each block also comes in a dry texture variant. All the recipes below are the ones this pack uses.[1][3]

First, make Dry Bamboo

Start with Dry Bamboo. It is made by smelting, and the dry ladder and the dry torch are both crafted from it, so make it before those.[3]

Next, ladders and torches

The ladder and torch are the quickest wins because you craft them in a crafting grid. Each has a normal and a dry version, and the dry versions are made from Dry Bamboo instead of plain bamboo.[3]

Then, use the stonecutter for the building blocks

The rest of the mod's blocks are made in a stonecutter from vanilla bamboo items. That covers the bundle, slab, stairs, fence, fence gate, door and trapdoor, so you don't need a crafting grid for any of them.[3]

Finally, switch to the dry look

Each dry building block is also cut in the stonecutter from the same vanilla bamboo item as its normal version. You don't need to make the normal block first. For example, the Dry Bamboo Bundle comes straight from the vanilla bamboo block.[3]

Tip: Quick rule of thumb: smelt for Dry Bamboo, craft ladders and torches in a crafting grid, and use the stonecutter for the bundle, slab, stairs, fence, fence gate, door and trapdoor.[3]

How does Bamboo Everything work?

3 parts

Bamboo Everything is a building-block mod. It adds blocks made with bamboo, and each block also has a dry texture variant. The sources cover how these items are obtained in the pack, so this section is short and focuses on that.[1][3]

Making Dry Bamboo

The dry variants of the ladder and torch start with Dry Bamboo. In the pack it is made with a smelting recipe from vanilla bamboo, so you don't craft it by hand.[3]

Stonecutter conversions

Most of the building blocks are made in a stonecutter. Each one is converted from the matching vanilla bamboo block, so you don't need a crafting grid. This covers bundles, doors, fences, fence gates, slabs, stairs and trapdoors, in both regular and dry versions.[3]

The dry versions are cut straight from the same vanilla blocks as the regular ones, so you don't have to make the regular block first. The bundle recipes show this well:[3]

Ladders and torches

The ladders and torches are the exceptions. They use shaped crafting in the pack, so you make them on a crafting grid. Bamboo Ladder and Bamboo Torch are built from vanilla bamboo, while Dry Bamboo Ladder and Dry Bamboo Torch are built from Dry Bamboo.[3]

How do you progress through Bamboo Everything?

3 parts

Bamboo Everything is a building mod, so the recipes here don't climb through power tiers. They split into a regular bamboo set and a dry bamboo set, and you can work through them in a sensible order.[3]

Unverified The sources here show no pack quests involving this mod, so the quest book gives no guided path for it. Treat the order below as a suggested workflow based on the recipes, not an official questline.

First: make Dry Bamboo

The dry ladders and torches start with Dry Bamboo. You get it by smelting vanilla bamboo, so all you need is a furnace-type setup.[3]

Next: craft ladders and torches

Ladders and torches are the only items in this mod made as crafting recipes. Each comes in a regular and a dry version, and the dry version is built from Dry Bamboo instead of plain bamboo.[3]

Finally: stonecut the building pieces

The rest of the mod's blocks come from the stonecutter. You feed it the matching vanilla bamboo piece and get the mod's version back. The dry versions are also stonecutter recipes from those same vanilla pieces, so you don't need to make the regular version first.[3]

Tip: Because the dry pieces are stonecut straight from the vanilla bamboo items, you only need the smelting step when you want Dry Bamboo itself for dry ladders and torches.[3]

What changed in Bamboo Everything between versions?

2 parts

FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 ships Bamboo Everything 21.1.2+mc1.21.1, the NeoForge build. It has been in the pack since 1.0.0 or earlier. I have no pack changelog entries for this mod, so everything below comes from the mod's own changelog.[2]

Changes on the 1.21 line

  • 21.1.1: fixed loot drops, fixed missing tags and bumped the loader versions.[4][5]
  • 21.1.0: updated the mod to 1.21.1.[4][5]
  • 21.0.2: fixed fences not connecting, and updated the Fabric and NeoForge versions.[4][5]
  • 21.0.0: updated the mod to 1.21 and dropped Forge support.[4][5]
Tip: The changelog has no separate entry for 21.1.2, the version in this pack. The newest entry it lists is 21.1.1, so I can't say what 21.1.2 changed.[4]

Older versions

  • 4.0.0: ported the mod to 1.20.4, and updated the NeoForge, Forge and Fabric loader versions.[4][5]
  • 3.0.2: updated Forge and Fabric, and updated the build script.[4][5]
  • 3.0.1: updated to 1.20.1, changed some recipes to use the stonecutter (which adds new variants of bamboo blocks) and added data generation.[4][5]
  • 3.0.0: updated the mod to 1.20.[4][5]
