What is Traveler's Titles?

2 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

Traveler's Titles is a simple client-side mod that pops up an RPG-style title whenever you enter a new biome or dimension. Think of the big location banners in an adventure game, but in your modpack world. It's a small touch that makes exploring feel a lot more epic.[1]

This pack includes version 1.21.1-NeoForge-5.1.3 of the mod.[2]

What you get

  • Titles for every modded biome, since the mod supports all of them.[1]
  • Built-in titles for many modded dimensions. The mod's page names Atum, Twilight Forest, Bumblezone and Lost Cities as examples.[1]
  • Full control over how titles look: text size, color, location, duration and more.[1]
  • Blacklisting for dimensions and biomes you don't want titles for.[1]
  • Optional custom sounds for entering a new biome, dimension or Waystone region.[1]

Because the mod is client-side, it only changes what you see and hear on your own screen.[1]

Make it your own

You can add your own sounds with a small resource pack that uses the namespace travelerstitles. Drop dimension.ogg, biome.ogg or waystone.ogg into its sounds folder. If you don't provide a sound for one of those types, nothing plays for it.[1]

Resource pack lang files let you write your own dimension and biome titles, and each one can have its own color as an RGB hex string.[1]

Tip: To preview a title without hunting for the biome, use the /biometitle and /dimensiontitle commands. They work in single player worlds if you have sufficient permissions.[1]

How do you get started with Traveler's Titles?

3 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

Good news: there's nothing to craft or set up here. Traveler's Titles is a simple client-side mod that shows RPG-like titles when you enter a new biome or dimension. Just play, and the titles appear on their own as you explore.[1]

The sources I have don't list any recipes, items or quests for this mod in this pack, so there is no crafting order to follow and no recipe block to show.[1]

What to expect while playing

  • Titles show up when you enter a biome or a dimension. The mod supports all modded biomes, so biomes from other mods get titles too.[1]
  • It includes built-in titles for many modded dimensions, such as Atum, Twilight Forest, Bumblezone and Lost Cities.[1]
  • If the Waystones mod is installed, the mod can show a Waystone's title when you're near it. The project page says this is for 1.18+ Forge only.[1]

Previewing titles

If you want to see what a title looks like without traveling there, use the debug commands. They work in single-player worlds if you have sufficient permissions.[1]

  • /biometitle <biome> previews a biome title.[1]
  • /dimensiontitle <dimension> previews a dimension title.[1]

Customizing it (optional)

The mod is completely customizable: you can change text size, color, location, duration and more. It also supports dimension and biome blacklisting, so you can hide titles you don't want to see.[1]

A resource pack can add custom sounds too. Make it use the namespace travelerstitles and put dimension.ogg, biome.ogg or waystone.ogg in its sounds folder. Each one plays when you enter a new dimension, biome or Waystone region. If you don't provide a sound for a type, nothing plays for that type.[1]

You can also add or rename titles with lang files in a resource pack. Dimensions use the key format travelerstitles.namespace.dimensionname. For a biome-only override that won't affect other uses of the biome's name, use travelerstitles.biome.namespace.biomename. An optional color entry set as an RGB hex string overrides the default text color for that dimension or biome.[1]

Tip: The project page also recommends the Visual Traveler's Titles resource pack add-on by UnRoman for custom dimension titles. Whether this pack ships it is not confirmed.[1]

Unverified The default config values this pack uses for Traveler's Titles (text size, color, position, duration, blacklists) are not confirmed by the sources, so check the in-game config if you want to know the exact settings.

How does Traveler's Titles work?

5 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

Traveler's Titles is a simple client-side mod. Its whole job is to show an RPG-style title when you enter a new biome or dimension. The sources describe nothing like machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation for it, so this section covers how the titles themselves work.[1]

What triggers a title

  • Entering a biome shows a biome title. Modded biomes are supported too.[1]
  • Entering a dimension shows a dimension title. The mod ships built-in titles for many modded dimensions, including Atum, Twilight Forest, Bumblezone and Lost Cities.[1]
  • With the Waystones mod, the mod can show a Waystone's title when you are near it. The project page says this is for 1.18+ Forge only.[1]
  • You can blacklist dimensions and biomes so they don't show titles.[1]

The project page says text size, color, location, duration and more are all customizable. It doesn't list the individual option names, so I won't guess at them here.[1]

Custom sounds

Sounds are optional and come from a small resource pack that uses the namespace travelerstitles. In its sounds folder you can add any or all of three files: dimension.ogg, biome.ogg and waystone.ogg. They play when you enter a new dimension, biome or Waystone region respectively. If you don't provide a file for a type, no sound plays for that type of title.[1]

Changing titles with lang files

Resource pack lang files let you add or change titles. Dimensions use the format travelerstitles.namespace.dimensionname, with your title text as the value.[1]

Biomes use the normal biome.namespace.biomename entries, so any mod's biomes work out of the box. If you want to change a biome's title without affecting other places that use the same translation, use the mod-specific format travelerstitles.biome.namespace.biomename instead.[1]

Title colors

Dimensions and biomes can both have an optional color lang entry. It overrides the configured default text color for that one dimension or biome. Colors are RGB hex strings, such as ff0000 for red and 00ff00 for green.[1]

For biome colors, a key that starts with travelerstitles takes priority over other entries. The project page's example gives the desert biome blue text (0000ff), because the travelerstitles entry beats the plain biome entry set to ff0000.[1]

Tip: Want a different look for dimension titles? The project page recommends the Visual Traveler's Titles resource pack add-on by UnRoman, which offers fully custom dimension titles for a bunch of modded dimensions.[1]

Previewing titles

You can preview a title without travelling there using the debug commands /biometitle with a biome, and /dimensiontitle with a dimension. They work in single player worlds if you have sufficient permissions.[1]

What changed in Traveler's Titles between versions?

1 part

Traveler's Titles in FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 is version 1.21.1-NeoForge-5.1.3. It has been in the pack since 1.0.3 or earlier, so you have had this mod from the early releases onward.[3]

There are no pack changelog entries for this mod, so I can't point to a specific pack release where it changed. The only change notes available are the mod's own for the version the pack ships.[3]

Changes in 5.1.3

This update came from a community contributor (@mpustovoi on GitHub), and it is mostly about making the title popups show proper names when you travel. Here is what changed:[4]

  • More dimension names were added, and colors were added to dimension names that had none.[4]
  • Missing biome names were added for Terralith, Incendium and Nullscape. The brackets were also removed from Terralith biome names.[4]
  • Biome names were added for The Bracken Pack, Saturated, LIMBO Dimension, Lightwoods and The Afterdark. The changelog describes these as datapacks and mods that have no language files.[4]
  • A name and color were added for the Middle-Earth dimension.[4]
  • Dimension names (levels) from The Backrooms mod were added, including ones still in development. The colors of dimension names from The True Backrooms mod were adjusted.[4]
  • Some typos were fixed and consistency was improved in the ru_ru.json language file.[4]

The changelog doesn't say which of these other mods and datapacks are in this pack, so I can't tell you which of these name additions you will actually see in your world.[3][4]

Items and blocks

We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as travelerstitles, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
