What is IntegratedTunnels?
2 parts
This pack ships IntegratedTunnels 1.11.1. It supplies the Integrated Dynamics parts that connect a Logic Cable network to the outside world: Interfaces, Importers, Exporters, world versions of those, and a Player Simulator.[1][2]
The mod has no chapter of its own in the quest book. Its quests sit inside the "Integrated Dynamics" chapter, in the "Tech Mods" group (chapter 25 of 31 in the book, 40 quests in total). The quest sources don't show this mod on the ATM Star path.[2]
What each part does
Interfaces such as Part Interface Item, Part Interface Fluid and Part Interface Energy add blocks like chests, tanks and energy cubes to your network. Importers pull from the block they are attached to, and Exporters push into it. They work with Variable Cards.[2]
The world versions act on the world itself. They place or collect fluids, import or export energy from entities, break or place blocks, and place or release items as entities. Part Player Simulator mimics a player's actions, such as clicking buttons or swinging swords.[2]
Where it sits in the quest book
- "Networks" quest comes first. It covers Logic Cables and Facades, and the I.D wrench and connector quests also follow it.[2]
- "Interacting With Your Network" quest comes after Networks. It accepts any one of the item, fluid or energy Interfaces. "Understanding Interfaces" quest follows it and explains the Part Settings screen.[2]
- "Importers and Exporters" quest also follows the Interfaces quest. It asks for one Importer and one Exporter, such as Part Importer Item and Part Exporter Item, among the item, fluid and energy variants.[2]
- The four world quests are "World Item Components" quest, "World Fluid Components" quest, "World Energy Components" quest and "World Block components" quest. Each comes after a quest called "World Interaction Components", whose text isn't included here, so check the quest book for it.[2]
- "Player Simulator" quest comes after the World Block and World Item quests.[2]
The chapter has 21 more quests that aren't covered here, so read it in the quest book as you go.[2]
How do you get started with IntegratedTunnels?
3 parts
IntegratedTunnels adds the parts that let your Integrated Dynamics network interact with chests, tanks, energy storage and the world around it. In this pack's quest book these parts are introduced inside the "Integrated Dynamics" chapter (Tech Mods group, chapter 25 of 31), so you can follow that chapter's order.[2]
The order to do things in
- Get Menril going. "Welcome to Integrated Dynamics!" quest has you obtain a Menril Sapling, grow it, and break it down for Logs and Berries. The chapter then points you to the Squeezer and the Drying Basin, and "Crystallized Menril" quest says that once you have a few blocks of Crystallized Menril you can get started on the basics of I.D.[2]
- Lay down Logic Cables (Logic Cable). They are the pipes of the mod, and anything connected to a cable is part of a network. This is "Networks" quest.[2]
- Make an interface. Interfaces attach to a cable and add a block to your network. An Item Interface on a chest lets the network see everything inside, which is the basis of a simple storage network. This is "Interacting With Your Network" quest.[2]
- Make a Variable Card (Variable Card), then an importer or exporter. Importers pull from the block they are connected to, exporters push into it, and both need a Variable Card to know what to do. See "Importers and Exporters" quest and "Variable Card" quest.[2]
- Later, after the Logic Director quest, move on to the world interaction parts for breaking and placing blocks, items, fluids and energy, and finally the Player Simulator.[2]
Your first parts
Start with the Item Interface, Part Interface Item. One craft gives you four of them.[3]

One craft makes 4 Item Interfaces.
The Fluid and Energy Interfaces (Part Interface Fluid and Part Interface Energy) work the same way for tanks and energy storage, and each craft also gives four.[2][3]
Importers and Exporters are made from the matching interface, so craft the interface first. Here are the item versions, which cover the usual chest and machine automation.[3]

Going further
The world parts, such as Part Importer World Block and Part Exporter World Item, are crafted from a Logic Director plus another part, so they come after the Logic Director quest. In the quest book they sit under "World Interaction Components" quest.[2][3]
The recipe for the Player Simulator, Part Player Simulator, is changed by this pack, so do not trust recipes from other guides for it. In the quest book it comes after the World Block and World Item components ("Player Simulator" quest).[2][3]

How does IntegratedTunnels work?
6 parts
IntegratedTunnels adds the parts that move items, fluids and energy in and out of your Integrated Dynamics networks, and parts that touch the world. Everything is built from a few families: interfaces, importers, exporters, their world versions, and the player simulator. Here is how they fit together, going by the pack's own recipes and config.[3][4]
The part families
- Interfaces (Part Interface Item, Part Interface Fluid, Part Interface Energy) are the base parts for item, fluid and energy storage.[3]
- Filtering interfaces (Part Interface Filter Item, Part Interface Filter Fluid, Part Interface Filter Energy) are upgraded interfaces. The mod's advancements show one only exposing an inventory's contents during daytime, and another only passing items from a certain mod.[3][5]
- Importers (Part Importer Item, Part Importer Fluid, Part Importer Energy) and exporters (Part Exporter Item, Part Exporter Fluid, Part Exporter Energy) import or export items, fluids or energy when their boolean is true.[3][5]
- World importers and exporters for items, fluids and energy (Part Importer World Item, Part Exporter World Item and so on) are made from the matching importer or exporter plus a Logic Director.[3]
- World block parts (Part Importer World Block, Part Exporter World Block) pick up or place blocks in the world. They are made from the item importer or exporter, a Logic Director and a diamond pickaxe.[3][5]

Player simulator
The Part Player Simulator clicks like a player. The mod's advancements mention clicking with a Diamond Sword using it. The pack changes its recipe, so follow this one rather than any mod default you may have seen.[3][5]

Controlling behaviour with variables
Importers, exporters and the simulator are driven by Integrated Dynamics variables. The mod's aspects are mostly yes/no switches and values. An import or export aspect moves items, fluids or energy when its boolean is true. Other aspects set the details of how it moves them.[5]
- Matching: a blacklist switch handles everything except the listed items, and another switch decides whether an empty value matches everything or nothing.[5]
- Amounts: exact-amount and stack-size checks only move things when the slot or tick amount matches exactly. The same idea exists for fluid and energy amounts per tick.[5]
- NBT: item and fluid aspects can require NBT, check nested tags recursively, or demand that the given tag is a subset or superset of the target's tag.[5]
- Interfaces: a round-robin switch iterates interfaces in circular order and ignores priorities. A passive IO switch controls whether the target may insert into or extract from the network.[5]
- Filters: a filtering interface can apply its filter to insertions into the network, to extractions from it, or both.[5]
- World parts: offsets run between 0 and 1, yaw and pitch between -180 and 180 degrees, and entity velocity between 0 and 25. An entity index picks the n-th entity, and -1 always picks a random one.[5]
- Player simulator: you can simulate a continuous click (otherwise each click takes one tick) and simulate sneaking.[5]
You can also read the network back. The mod has aspects for the total and maximum item and fluid counts, the number of valid interfaces, the full list of stacks, and the count of one specific item or fluid.[5]
Energy use
Every part has a base energy cost in the pack's config. Parts that touch the world have two costs: a low one when no variable is attached, and a higher one when a variable is attached.[4]
- Interfaces (item, fluid and energy) cost 0, for example general.general.interfaceItemBaseConsumption.[4]
- Plain importers and exporters (item, fluid and energy) cost 1 each, for example general.general.importerItemBaseConsumption.[4]
- World importers and exporters (block, item, fluid and energy versions) cost 1 without a variable, for example general.general.exporterWorldItemBaseConsumptionDisabled, and 32 with one, for example general.general.exporterWorldItemBaseConsumptionEnabled.[4]
- The player simulator costs 1 without a variable (general.general.playerSimulatorBaseConsumptionDisabled) and 64 with one (general.general.playerSimulatorBaseConsumptionEnabled).[4]
Speed, sleeping and safety settings
- Sleeping: importers and exporters that fail to process for 3 ticks (core.general.inventoryUnchangedTickCount) can start sleeping. They then wait 10 ticks (core.general.inventoryUnchangedTickTimeout) before checking their targets again.[4]
- Fluid speed: the maximum network fluid transfer rate (core.general.fluidRateLimit) is set to 2,147,483,647.[4]
- Overflow: when a block is broken and not everything fits in the target, the leftovers are ejected into the world instead of voided (core.general.ejectItemsOnBlockDropOverflow is true).[4]
- Inconsistent handlers: if an item handler reports inconsistent movement in simulation, items are also ejected rather than potentially voided (core.general.ejectItemsOnInconsistentSimulationMovement is true).[4]
- Block blacklist: core.general.blockImporterBlacklist is empty, so no block ids are blocked from world block importers by this config.[4]
- Feedback: core.general.worldInteractionEvents is true, so tunnels show particles and play sounds when they interact with the world.[4]
Pack tag changes
The pack's server script adds the item interface, filtering item interface, item importer, item exporter, world item importer and world item exporter to the ars_nouveau:no_break_drop block tag. It also adds them to craftingstation:blacklisted.[6]
How do you progress through IntegratedTunnels?
5 parts
Integrated Tunnels is the part of Integrated Dynamics that lets your network reach into chests, tanks, machines and the world itself. In the quest book it appears in two places. The Integrated Dynamics chapter (Tech Mods group, chapter 25 of 31) lays out the full progression. The Logistics chapter (Resources & Logistics group, chapter 9 of 31) has a short entry, "Integrated Dynamics" quest, which the three interface quests "Item Interfaces" quest, "Fluid Interfaces" quest and "Energy Interfaces" quest follow.[2][7]
Before the first tunnel part
The Integrated Dynamics chapter starts with "Welcome to Integrated Dynamics!" quest, where you grow a Menril tree. Then come "Extracting Menril" quest and "Drying Basin" quest, which both lead to "Crystallized Menril" quest. After that, "Energy Battery" quest and "Networks" quest open up. Networks is where you learn about Logic Cables, and everything connected to a cable counts as part of the network.[2]
Tier 1: Interfaces
"Interacting With Your Network" quest comes after Networks. It asks for any one of Part Interface Item, Part Interface Fluid or Part Interface Energy. An interface adds a storage block to your network. For example, an Item Interface on a chest lets the network see everything inside it. "Understanding Interfaces" quest then explains the part settings screen.[2]
Each interface recipe makes 4 parts per craft.[3]

Tier 2: Importers and exporters
"Importers and Exporters" quest also follows the interface quest. Importers pull items, energy or fluids out of the block they are attached to, and exporters push into it. Both need a Variable Card to know what to do, which is why "Variable Card" quest comes right after. Each importer or exporter is crafted starting from the matching interface.[2][3]

The pack also has filter interfaces for items, fluids and energy: Part Interface Filter Item, Part Interface Filter Fluid and Part Interface Filter Energy. The quests don't cover them, so the recipes below are the place to look.[2][3]

Tier 3: World interaction
The world parts are gated behind the Logic Director. "Logic Director" quest comes after "Crystallized Chorus Chunks" quest, which in turn comes after "Upgrading Menril Extraction" quest. Then "World Interaction Components" quest opens four quests, one for each kind of world part.[2]
- "World Item Components" quest: Part Importer World Item and Part Exporter World Item place or release items into the world as entities. The quest suggests auto crop farming, or vacuuming up mob farm drops.[2]
- "World Block components" quest: Part Importer World Block and Part Exporter World Block break or place blocks, for example to break ore blocks.[2]
- "World Fluid Components" quest: Part Importer World Fluid and Part Exporter World Fluid collect or place fluids, which allows a pump for infinite water or lava.[2]
- "World Energy Components" quest: Part Importer World Energy and Part Exporter World Energy import or export energy from entities.[2]
Each world part is crafted from a Logic Director plus the matching item, fluid or energy importer or exporter. The two block parts also need a diamond pickaxe.[3]

Tier 4: Player Simulator
"Player Simulator" quest is the last quest in the chain. It comes after both World Block components and World Item Components. The Part Player Simulator mimics a player's actions, such as clicking buttons, swinging swords or feeding farm animals.[2]

How does IntegratedTunnels work with other mods?
3 parts
IntegratedTunnels doesn't stand alone in this pack. Its recipes are built on Integrated Dynamics items, and its quests live inside the Integrated Dynamics chapter of the quest book (group Tech Mods, chapter 25 of 31). So if you're following the quests, you'll meet the two mods together.[2][3]
Interfaces: where the chain starts
Every part in this mod traces back to one of three interfaces: Part Interface Item, Part Interface Fluid and Part Interface Energy. Each craft gives you 4 of them, and each recipe uses an Integrated Dynamics item such as Crystallized Menril Chunk.[3]

The energy version also needs the Integrated Dynamics Energy Battery.
The quest book covers this step in "Interacting With Your Network" quest, which comes after the Networks quest. It explains that an interface lets you attach Logic Cables to a chest, tank or energy block so the network can see what's inside. The Energy Battery has its own quest, "Energy Battery" quest, which says it stores a base of one million RF and is used to craft other energy components in Integrated Dynamics.[2]
Importers and exporters
Importers and exporters are made from the matching interface plus a Variable Transformer from Integrated Dynamics. Importers use Input Variable Transformer and exporters use Output Variable Transformer.[3]
Crafting Shapeless

"Importers and Exporters" quest follows the interface quest. It says importers pull items, energy or fluids from the block they're connected to, while exporters push into it, and that both work with the help of Variable Cards.[2]
World parts and the Logic Director
The world-interaction parts (item, fluid, energy and block versions) all need the Integrated Dynamics Logic Director. Each one upgrades an importer or exporter you already have: the item, fluid and energy versions use the matching one, and the block versions use the item importer or exporter. The Logic Director is the link to Integrated Dynamics for this whole group.[3]

The block versions also need a vanilla Diamond Pickaxe on top of the Logic Director and the item exporter.
The quest book has one quest for each type, all placed after the World Interaction Components quest:[2]
- "World Item Components" quest: place or release items into the world as entities. The quest suggests auto crop farming and harvesting, or vacuuming up drops from a mob farm.[2]
- "World Fluid Components" quest: collect or place fluids in the world, for example a fluid pump system for infinite water or lava.[2]
- "World Energy Components" quest: import or export energy from entities. The quest describes this as limited wireless charging early on, and you have to stand directly within range.[2]
- "World Block components" quest: break or place blocks in the world, for example to automate breaking ore blocks.[2]
The Part Player Simulator comes next in the book, in "Player Simulator" quest, which unlocks after the World Block and World Item quests. The quest describes it as a tool that mimics a player's actions, such as clicking buttons, swinging swords or feeding farm animals.[2]
The Integrated Dynamics chapter has 40 quests, and 26 of them are not covered here. Check the quest book for anything beyond what's above.[2]
Which FTB Skies 2: Aero quests use IntegratedTunnels?
3 parts
Two quest chapters in the pack ask you for this mod's parts. The Logistics chapter (chapter 9 of 31, in the Resources & Logistics group) only introduces them. The Integrated Dynamics chapter (chapter 25 of 31, in the Tech Mods group, 40 quests) is where the mod is really taught.[2][7]
Logistics chapter
Here the quest "Integrated Dynamics" quest presents Integrated Dynamics as an advanced mod for people who want to skip the friendly interfaces and take control of logistics. Three quests hang off it, one per resource type. Each asks for an interface, an exporter and an importer of that type, and none of them has a description.[7]
- "Item Interfaces" quest asks for Part Interface Item, Part Exporter Item and Part Importer Item.[7]
- "Fluid Interfaces" quest asks for Part Interface Fluid, Part Exporter Fluid and Part Importer Fluid.[7]
- "Energy Interfaces" quest asks for Part Interface Energy, Part Exporter Energy and Part Importer Energy.[7]
Integrated Dynamics chapter
This chapter opens with "Welcome to Integrated Dynamics!" quest, where you grow a Menril tree, and it builds up through Menril processing and Logic Cables before the mod's parts appear. The order that matters for you is this:[2]
- "Interacting With Your Network" quest comes after the Networks quest. You hand in any one of Part Interface Item, Part Interface Fluid or Part Interface Energy. Interfaces add storage blocks such as chests, tanks or energy cubes to your network.[2]
- "Importers and Exporters" quest comes next. You need one importer (item, energy or fluid, for example Part Importer Item) and one exporter (item, energy or fluid, for example Part Exporter Item). Importers pull from the connected block and exporters push into it, and both are driven by Variable Cards.[2]
- "Understanding IO Interfaces" quest and "Variable Card" quest both come after the importers and exporters quest. The first is a checkmark quest that explains the IO interface screen. The second covers Variable Cards, which tell an importer or exporter what to do.[2]
- "World Interaction Components" quest is a checkmark quest that comes after the Logic Director quest ("Logic Director" quest). It unlocks four quests that each ask for an importer and an exporter, as described in the next list.[2]
- "Player Simulator" quest asks for Part Player Simulator. It comes after both the World Block components and World Item Components quests, and it mimics a player's actions such as clicking buttons, swinging swords or feeding farm animals.[2]
World interaction quests
- "World Fluid Components" quest asks for Part Importer World Fluid and Part Exporter World Fluid. They collect or place fluids in the world, for example for a pump giving infinite water or lava.[2]
- "World Energy Components" quest asks for Part Importer World Energy and Part Exporter World Energy. They import or export energy from entities, which allows limited early wireless charging, but you have to stand within range.[2]
- "World Block components" quest asks for Part Importer World Block and Part Exporter World Block. They break or place blocks in the world.[2]
- "World Item Components" quest asks for Part Importer World Item and Part Exporter World Item. They place or release items into the world as entities, which suits crop farming and vacuum-hopper style pickups.[2]
Which IntegratedTunnels config options matter?
4 parts
Everything here lives in config/integratedtunnels-common.toml, and the values below are exactly what the pack sets. The file only shows the pack's current values, so I can't tell you which of them differ from the mod's own defaults.[4]
Energy use
Each importer, exporter, interface and the player simulator has a base energy cost option. Here is how the pack sets them.[4]
- The plain item, fluid and energy importers and exporters all use a base of 1: general.general.importerItemBaseConsumption, general.general.importerFluidBaseConsumption, general.general.importerEnergyBaseConsumption, general.general.exporterItemBaseConsumption, general.general.exporterFluidBaseConsumption and general.general.exporterEnergyBaseConsumption.[4]
- The world block, world item, world fluid and world energy importers and exporters cost 1 when they have no variable (the Disabled options) and 32 when they have a variable (the Enabled options). For example, general.general.importerWorldBlockBaseConsumptionDisabled is 1 and general.general.importerWorldBlockBaseConsumptionEnabled is 32. The exporter versions follow the same pattern.[4]
- The player simulator costs 1 without a variable (general.general.playerSimulatorBaseConsumptionDisabled) and 64 with one (general.general.playerSimulatorBaseConsumptionEnabled).[4]
- The item, fluid and energy interfaces have a base cost of 0, set by general.general.interfaceItemBaseConsumption, general.general.interfaceFluidBaseConsumption and general.general.interfaceEnergyBaseConsumption.[4]
Transfer speed and sleeping
- core.general.fluidRateLimit is the maximum network fluid transfer rate, and the pack sets it to 2,147,483,647.[4]
- core.general.inventoryUnchangedTickCount is 3. That is how many ticks an importer or exporter can fail to process before it may start sleeping.[4]
- core.general.inventoryUnchangedTickTimeout is 10. That is how many ticks a sleeping importer or exporter waits before checking its targets again.[4]
Item safety and world interaction
- core.general.ejectItemsOnBlockDropOverflow is true, so when a block is broken and its drops don't all fit in the target, the extra items are ejected into the world. Otherwise they would be voided.[4]
- core.general.ejectItemsOnInconsistentSimulationMovement is true, so items are ejected into the world if movement fails because an item handler reports inconsistent movement in simulation mode. If it were disabled, items could be voided.[4]
- core.general.worldInteractionEvents is true, so tunnels show particles and play sounds when they interact with the world.[4]
- core.general.blockImporterBlacklist is an empty list in the pack. It takes regex patterns for block ids that world block importers should not import, and nothing is blocked here.[4]
Housekeeping
core.general.versionChecker is false, so the version checker is off. core.general.analytics is true, which allows an anonymous mod startup analytics request.[4]
