IntegratedTerminals is a mod in FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.13.0, where it is version 1.10.0. Terminals for managing and overviewing Integrated Dynamics networks. (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is IntegratedTerminals?

1 part

This pack includes IntegratedTerminals 1.9.0. It adds the terminals you use to work with an Integrated Dynamics network, and the quest book introduces it through the Storage Terminal.[1][2]

The Part Terminal Storage gathers all the items, fluids and energy values from the interfaces on your network into one screen. For example, put an Item Interface on every chest you own, connect the terminal to a Logic Cable, and you can craft and interact with everything in those chests from one place.[2]

The Portable Storage Terminal can be linked to an Omni-Directional Connector, so you can reach your storage network remotely.[2]

Where it sits in the quest book

The pack's quest book has no chapter just for this mod. It is covered in the "Integrated Dynamics" chapter, in the "Tech Mods" group. That chapter is number 25 of 31 in the book and has 40 quests.[2]

The terminals appear in "Storage Terminal" quest, subtitled "A Basic Storage Solution". Its tasks are the Storage Terminal and the Portable Storage Terminal. It comes after "Interacting With Your Network" quest, which in turn follows "Networks" quest.[2]

After the Storage Terminal comes "Autocrafting With I.D" quest. Its tasks include the Part Terminal Crafting Job and a crafting interface from another mod. The quest walks you through setting up a recipe in the Logic Programmer and placing a crafting table in front of a Crafting Interface.[2]

The quest book text for 26 of the 40 quests in this chapter isn't covered here. Read the chapter in the quest book for those.[2]

How do you get started with IntegratedTerminals?

4 parts

IntegratedTerminals gives you terminals for managing and overviewing Integrated Dynamics networks, so your first steps happen in Integrated Dynamics. In the quest book that chapter sits in the Tech Mods group, as chapter 25 of 31. The quest text also points you to the guidebook On The Dynamics of Integration if you get stuck.[2][3]

Before the terminal: Menril and a network

  1. Start with "Welcome to Integrated Dynamics!" quest: get a Menril Sapling, grow it, and break the tree down for Logs and Berries.[2]
  2. Make a Squeezer ("Extracting Menril" quest) and a Drying Basin ("Drying Basin" quest). Squeeze Menril Logs into a Drying Basin to turn the Menril Resin into Crystallized Menril. That is how you get more of it per tree ("Crystallized Menril" quest).[2]
  3. The mod's own advancement for Menril Glass says you get it by drying Menril Resin onto Glass. You will want some on hand for the terminals.[3]
  4. Lay down Logic Cables ("Networks" quest) and attach an Interface to a chest ("Interacting With Your Network" quest). Anything connected to a cable is part of your network, and an Item Interface lets the network see everything in that chest.[2]

Your first terminal

Now make the Storage Terminal, the next quest after the Interface one ("Storage Terminal" quest). It pulls the items, fluids and energy from all your interfaces into one screen, so you can craft with everything in your connected chests. Connect it to one of your Logic Cables. Here is the in-pack recipe for Part Terminal Storage:[2][4]

In this pack the storage terminal has a base energy usage of 2, and clicking an item in it selects 64 by default. Both are set in the pack's config file for this mod.[5]

Tip: Right-click a Storage Terminal with an Eye of Ender to ender-upgrade it. In this pack that is enabled, and it gives the terminal a tab showing your ender chest contents.[3][5]

Taking it with you

The same quest also asks for the Portable Storage Terminal. You can link it to an Omni-Directional Connector to reach your storage network remotely. That connector comes later in the chapter, after the Mono-Directional Connector and the Logic Director.[2]

Watch out: The quest book warns that Omni-Directional Connectors can cause an immense amount of TPS lag if you use them often, so keep your use of them light.[2]

Autocrafting

Once your storage works, the quest after it is "Autocrafting With I.D" quest. Its tasks are a Crafting Interface and the Part Terminal Crafting Job, which is how you keep an eye on your crafting jobs. The quest walks you through setting up a recipe in the Logic Programmer and placing a crafting table in front of the Crafting Interface.[2]

In this pack a toast pops up when a crafting job you requested finishes. Crafting plans also open in the flattened view by default rather than the tree view.[5]

How does IntegratedTerminals work?

6 parts

IntegratedTerminals gives you screens for managing and overviewing Integrated Dynamics networks. There are no machines or multiblocks here: everything works through terminal parts and one portable terminal, and what you see depends on what storage your network exposes.[3]

Getting the terminals

The storage screen comes from Part Terminal Storage, and the crafting job screen comes from Part Terminal Crafting Job. Both need Menril Glass, which you make by drying Menril Resin onto Glass.[3][4]

The storage terminal

The storage terminal shows your network's contents in tabs. If you open it and see no tabs, the terminal tells you to connect storage to the network with an interface. You can also filter enchantable items dynamically by using a Variable.[3]

Right-clicking a storage terminal with an Eye of Ender ender-upgrades it. In this pack that is enabled, and it gives the terminal a tab with the contents of your ender chest. Ender particles on upgraded terminals are turned off here.[3][5]

The screen lets you sort items by name, ID or amount, and fluids by name, ID or amount in mB, in ascending or descending order. You can also set a channel, and the crafting filter can show stored ingredients, craftable ones, or both with either listed first. The "Mark as default settings" button makes your current settings the starting point for new terminals.[3]

Grid size and quantities

The grid size has small, medium and large presets, plus options to scale the width, the height, or both. This pack sets the presets like this:[3][5]

When you click an item in the terminal, 64 are selected (machine.general.guiStorageItemInitialQuantity), and right-clicking removes 1 (machine.general.guiStorageItemIncrementalQuantity). For fluids, clicking selects 100,000 (machine.general.guiStorageFluidInitialQuantity) and right-clicking removes 1,000 (machine.general.guiStorageFluidIncrementalQuantity). Energy works the same way: 100,000 selected (machine.general.guiStorageEnergyInitialQuantity) and 1,000 removed per right-click (machine.general.guiStorageEnergyIncrementalQuantity).[5]

Automatic re-sorting pauses while you hold shift, which helps when you are shift-clicking things out (general.general.guiStoragePauseSortingWhileShifting). The search box and button states are also shared between the item storage and crafting tabs (general.general.syncItemStorageAndCraftingTabStates).[5]

The crafting grid

The terminal's crafting grid has a few helpers. Auto-refill refills the grid after crafting and can draw from the player, the network, or both in either order. Balance spreads equal items evenly over the slots. Clear sends the grid back to storage, and shift-clicking it clears into your player inventory instead.[3]

Shift-clicking the crafting result is not limited to a single result in this pack (general.general.shiftClickCraftingResultLimit is false).[5]

Crafting plans and jobs

When you ask the terminal to craft something, it first calculates a crafting plan. The plan label tells you if it is valid, running, or failed. Failures are reported as incomplete, as insufficient crafting interfaces, or as a recursive recipe being detected.[3]

You can view a plan in a compact (flat) view or as a tree. In this pack the flat view is the default (core.general.terminalStorageDefaultToCraftingPlanTree is false). A tree plan with more than 64 leaves is no longer sent to your client (core.general.terminalStorageMaxTreePlanSize).[3][5]

Once a job is running, its status tells you what it is waiting for:[3]

  • Valid: not started yet.[3]
  • Queueing: waiting for other jobs to finish.[3]
  • Pending Dependencies: waiting for dependencies to finish.[3]
  • Pending Inputs: missing input ingredients.[3]
  • Crafting: the job has started and is waiting for outputs.[3]
  • Finished: the job is completed and the outputs have been received.[3]
  • Invalid: missing storage ingredients.[3]
  • Recipe Not Allowed: the recipe inputs could not be inserted into the crafting target.[3]

The job screen shows the owner, channel, progress and duration, and has buttons to cancel one job or all of them. The duration shows "?" until the crafting interfaces have crafted those recipes before, so there is no estimate for a brand new recipe. The screen refreshes every 1,000 milliseconds (machine.general.guiTerminalCraftingJobsUpdateFrequency).[3][5]

The Notify button on the craft step shows a toast when that job completes. The pack has the finished-job toast enabled (machine.general.craftingJobFinishedToast).[3][5]

Watch out: The crafting planner runs on 2 threads in this pack (core.general.craftingPlannerThreads), but separate-thread planning is switched off (core.general.craftingPlannerEnableMultithreading). The config comment warns that enabling it is unsafe and will cause some jobs to fail, so leave it off.[5]

Energy and packets

The pack sets the base energy usage to 2 for the storage terminal (general.general.terminalStorageBaseConsumption) and 1 for the crafting terminal (general.general.terminalCraftingBaseConsumption).[5]

Large networks send a lot of data to the client, so each packet is capped at 512 storage instances and 128 crafting recipes (core.general.terminalStoragePacketMaxInstances, core.general.terminalStoragePacketMaxRecipes). The config says to lower these if you get packet overflows.[5]

How do you progress through IntegratedTerminals?

3 parts

IntegratedTerminals doesn't have its own quest chapter in this pack. Its items are covered inside the Integrated Dynamics chapter, which sits in the "Tech Mods" group as chapter 25 of 31 in the quest book. The mod has three recipes in the pack, and the quests take you to them in a clear order.[2][4]

Step 1: Get Menril and start a network

Before you touch a terminal, you need the Integrated Dynamics basics. The chapter starts with "Welcome to Integrated Dynamics!" quest, where you grow a Menril tree and collect logs and berries. From there, "Extracting Menril" quest and "Drying Basin" quest lead into "Crystallized Menril" quest.[2]

Once you have some Crystallized Menril, "Networks" quest explains Logic Cables, which connect everything in a network. After that comes "Interacting With Your Network" quest, which covers the Interfaces that add chests, tanks and other storage blocks to your network.[2]

Step 2: The Storage Terminal

"Storage Terminal" quest comes right after "Interacting With Your Network" quest. Its tasks are the Part Terminal Storage and the Portable Storage Terminal. The quest describes the Storage Terminal as gathering the items, fluids and energy values from the interfaces on your network into one screen. Put an Item Interface on each chest, connect the terminal to a cable, and you can craft and work with everything in those chests from one place.[2]

The Portable Storage Terminal is the remote version. According to the quest, you link it to an Omni-Directional Connector to reach your storage network from a distance. That connector has its own quest, "Omni-Directional Connector" quest, and it comes after "Mono-Directional Connector" quest and "Logic Director" quest in the chapter.[2]

Step 3: Autocrafting

"Autocrafting With I.D" quest follows the Storage Terminal quest. Its tasks are the Crafting Interface from Integrated Crafting and the Part Terminal Crafting Job. The quest walks you through building a recipe in the Logic Programmer, turning it into a Variable Card aspect, and using it in a Crafting Interface with a crafting table in front of it.[2]

The last quest in this line is "Crafting Writer" quest. It lets your system keep at least 1 of any item you have a recipe for in stock. The quest warns that it only handles one item at a time, so save it for the things you really need stocked.[2]

Tip: For the autocrafting setup you'll want to be comfortable with Variable Cards and the Logic Programmer. They have their own quests, "Variable Card" quest and "Logic Programmer" quest, so it's worth finishing those along the way.[2]

How does IntegratedTerminals work with other mods?

3 parts

IntegratedTerminals is an add-on for Integrated Dynamics, and the recipes in this pack show it. Its crafted items use Integrated Dynamics parts, and its glass blocks are made in the Integrated Dynamics Drying Basin. The pack's quest book covers the terminals inside the Integrated Dynamics chapter, so there is no separate chapter for this mod.[2][4]

Crafting the terminals

The Part Terminal Storage is crafted from several Integrated Dynamics items, including both Variable Transformers, together with Menril Glass from this mod.[4]

Glass and the Drying Basin

Menril Glass and Chorus Glass both have Drying Basin recipes, and each one also exists for the Mechanical Drying Basin. The Menril Glass recipes use 1,000 of Menril Resin, and the Chorus Glass recipes use 1,000 of Liquid Chorus. Each recipe also takes any colorless glass block.[4]

Unverified The recipe dump lists the Drying Basin recipes for both glass types without an output, so what each one produces is not confirmed here.

If you have not used the basin yet, the quest "Drying Basin" quest introduces it. It explains that the basin dries items or fluids into new items, and that Menril Resin can become Blocks of Crystallized Menril.[2]

In the quest book

The Integrated Dynamics chapter sits in the Tech Mods group, chapter 25 of 31 in the book. The quest "Storage Terminal" quest asks for the storage terminal part and the portable terminal. It comes after the quest called Interacting With Your Network. It explains that the Storage Terminal gathers the items, fluids and energy from interfaces on your network into one screen, and that the portable version can be linked to an Omni-Directional Connector to reach your storage remotely.[2]

Right after that comes "Autocrafting With I.D" quest, which links this mod with Integrated Crafting. Its tasks are Part Interface Crafting and Part Terminal Crafting Job. The quest walks you through building a recipe in the Logic Programmer and using it in a Crafting Interface with a crafting table placed in front of it.[2]

Tip: The quest text for 30 of the 40 quests in the Integrated Dynamics chapter is not included in the material this guide was built from, so check the quest book for the rest of the chapter.[2]

Which FTB Skies 2: Aero quests use IntegratedTerminals?

4 parts

This mod has no chapter of its own in the pack's quest book. Its two quests sit inside the Integrated Dynamics chapter, which is in the "Tech Mods" group (chapter 25 of 31 in the book) and holds 40 quests in total.[2]

Getting to the terminals

Both quests come late in a chain. The chapter starts with "Welcome to Integrated Dynamics!" quest, then moves through "Extracting Menril" quest and "Drying Basin" quest, and on to "Crystallized Menril" quest. After that come "Networks" quest and then "Interacting With Your Network" quest, which is where the terminal quests unlock.[2]

Storage Terminal

"Storage Terminal" quest comes right after "Interacting With Your Network" quest. It asks you to obtain two items: Part Terminal Storage and Portable Storage Terminal.[2]

The quest describes the Storage Terminal as a single interface for all the items, fluids and energy values from the interfaces on your network. For example, you put an Item Interface on each chest, connect the terminal to a Logic Cable, and then craft and interact with everything in those chests from one screen.[2]

The portable version can be linked to an Omni-Directional Connector to reach your storage network remotely. That connector has its own quest, "Omni-Directional Connector" quest, which comes after "Mono-Directional Connector" quest and "Logic Director" quest.[2]

Autocrafting With I.D

"Autocrafting With I.D" quest unlocks after the Storage Terminal quest. Its tasks are a Crafting Interface and Part Terminal Crafting Job. The quest text is mostly a walkthrough of recipe setup, which goes like this:[2]

  1. Open your Logic Programmer and select the "Recipe" aspect.[2]
  2. Pick your recipe in JEI and click the "+" icon next to it. This fills in the Recipe aspect inside the Programmer.[2]
  3. If a recipe needs one exact item rather than any variant (oak planks instead of any planks, for example), Shift-click the item to open its configuration screen.[2]
  4. Place a Variable Card in the bottom of the interface to get an aspect for that specific recipe.[2]
  5. Use that recipe inside a Crafting Interface, then set up a crafting table in front of it.[2]

In the configuration screen, the quest says Strict NBT is useful for things like armor or energy storage blocks. Reusable matters for recipes that don't consume a resource, and Item Tag Variants let you configure a specific item via NBT tags.[2]

What comes next

"Crafting Writer" quest follows Autocrafting With I.D. It asks for a Crafting Writer, which lets your system keep at least 1 of any item you have a recipe for in stock, using the "Craft Item" aspect. It handles only one item at a time, so the quest suggests saving it for the most important items or ones you constantly restock.[2]

Tip: The autocrafting quest relies on the Logic Programmer and Variable Cards. If you skipped them, check "Logic Programmer" quest and "Variable Card" quest first.[2]

Which IntegratedTerminals config options matter?

4 parts

Integrated Terminals keeps its settings in one file in this pack, core.general.analytics and the rest of the options below all live in config/integratedterminals-common.toml. Here are the ones you are most likely to care about, with the exact values this pack uses.[5]

Crafting planner and performance

Tip: If you ever hit packet overflows, the file says to reduce core.general.terminalStoragePacketMaxInstances (512 in this pack) and core.general.terminalStoragePacketMaxRecipes (128 in this pack).[5]

How selecting and shift-clicking behave

Terminal size and display

The storage terminal scales its grid with your screen. The small scale is 9 columns by 5 rows, medium is 10 by 7, and large is 11 by 9. The maximum when scaling is 32 columns and 20 rows. The relevant options are general.general.guiStorageScaleSmallColumns, general.general.guiStorageScaleSmallRows, general.general.guiStorageScaleMediumColumns, general.general.guiStorageScaleMediumRows, general.general.guiStorageScaleLargeColumns, general.general.guiStorageScaleLargeRows, general.general.guiStorageScaleMaxColumns and general.general.guiStorageScaleMaxRows.[5]

general.general.guiStorageForceCraftingGridCenter is false, so the crafting grid stays responsive to screen size. general.general.syncItemStorageAndCraftingTabStates is true, so your search box and button states carry over between the item storage and crafting tabs.[5]

Energy use and extras

The base energy usage is 1 for the crafting terminal (general.general.terminalCraftingBaseConsumption) and 2 for the storage terminal (general.general.terminalStorageBaseConsumption).[5]

The ender chest tab for ender-upgraded storage terminals is enabled (core.general.terminalStorageTabEnderChestEnabled is true), but the ender particles are turned off (core.general.terminalStorageEnderParticles is false). The version checker is also off (core.general.versionChecker is false).[5]

Unverified The pack's config file shows the values above, but the available sources do not list the mod's own defaults, so it is unverified which of these values the pack changed.
