What is ForgedPaginatedAdvancements?
2 parts
ForgedPaginatedAdvancements is an unofficial (Neo)Forge port of Paginated Advancements. It completely overhauls the advancement screen, which is handy in a big modpack where the default screen runs out of room for all the tabs.[1]
What it changes
- The advancement screen is bigger instead of a fixed size.[1]
- Tabs are paginated, so you no longer get the problem of a modpack having too many tabs to display.[1]
- You can pin the advancement tabs you are currently focusing on.[1]
- The screen remembers the last tab you opened.[1]
There are also some styling options: you can disable background fading and configure the spacing between tabs, either condensing them a lot or giving them more room. The mod can also register new advancement frames, including custom colors, through data packs or other mods, the same way the original project does.[1]
In this pack
This pack includes version 0.0.2+1.21.1 of the port. It has been in the pack since 1.0.3 or earlier, and it is still there in 1.10.0. The mod requires Cloth Config API to run.[1][2]
This port won't be updated any further, because the original mod has supported NeoForge since Minecraft 1.21.7. The pack uses the port on 1.21.1.[1][2]
How do you get started with ForgedPaginatedAdvancements?
2 parts
Good news: there is nothing to craft here. Paginated Advancements is an unofficial (Neo)Forge port that overhauls the advancement screen, so your first step is to open your advancements and look around. It requires Cloth Config API.[1]
What changes on the advancement screen
- The screen is bigger instead of a fixed size.[1]
- Tabs are paginated, so you no longer get the "this modpack has too many tabs to display them all" problem.[1]
- You can pin the tabs you are focusing on.[1]
- The last opened tab is remembered.[1]
Settings worth knowing about
In this pack, pinning is switched on with PinningEnabled set to true, and no tabs are pinned yet, since PinnedTabs is an empty list. Remembering your last tab is also on, through SaveLastSelectedTab.[3]
For the look of the screen, the pack's config has FadeOutBackgroundOnAdvancementHover set to true. Tab spacing is set to 4 for SpacingBetweenHorizontalTabs and 2 for SpacingBetweenPinnedTabs. The project page says spacing can be tightened or loosened, and that the background fading can be disabled.[1][3]
Debug tooltips are enabled in this pack: ShowDebugInfo is set to DEBUG_TOOLTIPS_ENABLED, and ShowAdvancementIDInDebugTooltip is true. MaxCriterionEntries is set to 2.[3]
How does ForgedPaginatedAdvancements work?
2 parts
This mod has no machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation. It is an unofficial (Neo)Forge port of Paginated Advancements, and it overhauls the advancement screen. So "core mechanics" here means how that screen behaves and which settings the pack uses.[1]
It needs Cloth Config API to run. The port itself won't be updated, because the original mod has supported NeoForge since Minecraft 1.21.7.[1]
What the screen does
- The advancement screen is bigger instead of a fixed size.[1]
- Tabs are paginated, which the mod's page presents as a fix for packs that have too many advancement tabs to display at once.[1]
- You can pin the tabs you are currently focusing on.[1]
- The screen remembers the last tab you opened.[1]
There are also styling options: you can turn off the background fading, and you can change the spacing between tabs, either packing them tightly or giving them more room.[1]
The mod can also register new advancement frames, including custom colors, through data packs or other mods. The details of that live in the original project, and this pack's sources don't cover them.[1]
How the pack sets it up
Everything is configured in PinningEnabled and its neighbours in the same file. Pinning is on, and SaveLastSelectedTab is true, so the screen reopens on the tab you used last. The stored value in LastSelectedTab is "modern_industrialization:guidebook". PinnedTabs is empty by default, so you start with nothing pinned.[3]
For layout, SpacingBetweenHorizontalTabs is 4 and SpacingBetweenPinnedTabs is 2. The background fade option, FadeOutBackgroundOnAdvancementHover, is set to true.[3]
Debug info is switched on too. ShowDebugInfo is set to "DEBUG_TOOLTIPS_ENABLED", and ShowAdvancementIDInDebugTooltip is true. MaxCriterionEntries is set to 2.[3]
Unverified What the debug tooltips display in practice, and exactly how MaxCriterionEntries limits what the screen shows, is not explained in the available sources.
Which ForgedPaginatedAdvancements config options matter?
3 parts
Paginated Advancements keeps all of its settings in a single config file, and this pack sets every option in it. Here is exactly how the pack has them, starting with the ones you are most likely to touch, like PinningEnabled.[3]
Pinning and remembering your tab
- PinningEnabled is true, so you can pin the advancement tabs you are focusing on. PinnedTabs is empty, so nothing is pinned until you do it.[1][3]
- SaveLastSelectedTab is true, so the screen remembers the last tab you had open. LastSelectedTab is currently "modern_industrialization:guidebook" in the pack's file.[1][3]
Look and spacing
- FadeOutBackgroundOnAdvancementHover is true in this pack. The mod lets you disable background fading if you prefer, and this is the option to change for that.[1][3]
- SpacingBetweenHorizontalTabs is 4 and SpacingBetweenPinnedTabs is 2. The mod makes tab spacing configurable, so you can condense the tabs or give them more room to breathe.[1][3]
Debug options
- ShowDebugInfo is set to "DEBUG_TOOLTIPS_ENABLED".[3]
- ShowAdvancementIDInDebugTooltip is true.[3]
- MaxCriterionEntries is 2.[3]
What changed in ForgedPaginatedAdvancements between versions?
1 part
There isn't much history to cover here, and that's a good thing: ForgedPaginatedAdvancements has been steady in the pack. It was first included in FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.0.3 or earlier, and FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 ships version 0.0.2+1.21.1.[2]

- 0.0.2+1.21.1: fixed a wrong black border. This is the only change listed in the mod's changelog that I have.[4]
The pack changelogs I was given have no entries for this mod, so there are no pack-specific changes to report.[2]

Items and blocks
We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as paginatedadvancements, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
