What is Draconic Evolution Render Patcher?
3 parts
Same as in the FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 guide
Draconic Evolution Render Patcher is a small client-side fix for rendering problems between Draconic Evolution and the Embeddium/Sodium rendering mods. This pack includes version 2.0.0.[1][2]
What it does
It changes how Brandons Core renders so that it goes through the entity system of Embeddium or Sodium. That is how it fixes the rendering issues you would otherwise see with Draconic Evolution.[1]
- If Iris is installed, it forces the allowUnknownShaders setting to true at runtime.[1]
- If ImmediatelyFast is installed, it forces the hud_batching setting to false at runtime.[1]
- Those compatibility tweaks exist so Draconic's items and entities get rendered.[1]
- The /derender status command lets you check the settings of each compatible mod.[1]
Shaders and config
The mod expects you to use either Sodium or Embeddium. If you use shaders, keep in mind that some shader packs have issues with mods. Complementary is named as one with good mod support.[1]
Quest book placement
Unverified The sources here do not show a quest chapter, group or position for this mod in the pack's quest book, so what comes before or after it there is not confirmed.
How do you get started with Draconic Evolution Render Patcher?
3 parts
Same as in the FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 guide
This is a client-side mod that fixes render issues between Draconic Evolution and Embeddium or Sodium. So your first steps are about checking your setup, not crafting.[1]
What it does for you
The patcher changes how Brandons Core is rendered so that it uses the entity system of Embeddium or Sodium. That's what fixes the Draconic Evolution visual glitches you'd otherwise get with those rendering mods.[1]
Steps to check
- Make sure you're running either Sodium or Embeddium, as the mod's page asks.[1]
- Remember that it only runs on the client, so it patches your own game and not the server.[1]
- Run the /derender status command in-game to see the settings of each compatible mod.[1]
Settings it changes at runtime
The patcher has compatibility code for Iris and ImmediatelyFast, so Draconic's items and entities get rendered. If Iris is installed, it forces the allowUnknownShaders setting to true at runtime. If ImmediatelyFast is installed, it forces the hud_batching setting to false at runtime.[1]
If you hit a bug or crash with the patcher, the mod's author asks you to report it on the project's GitHub issue tracker.[1]
Unverified The sources here do not show any in-pack recipes that produce this mod's items, or any quests that involve it, so there is no recipe block or quest to point you to.
How does Draconic Evolution Render Patcher work?
3 parts
Same as in the FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 guide
This mod is different from most Draconic Evolution content. Draconic Evolution Render Patcher is a client-side mod that fixes render problems between Draconic Evolution and Embeddium/Sodium. It has no machines, multiblocks, power, fluid or item handling to set up or automate. All it does is change how things are drawn on your screen.[1]
What the patch does
The fix changes the rendering of Brandons Core so it uses Embeddium's or Sodium's entity system. The project page also says you need to use either Sodium or Embeddium.[1]
The mod also has compatibility code that changes Iris and ImmediatelyFast configurations, so Draconic's items and entities are actually rendered.[1]
Compatibility behavior at runtime
- If Iris is installed, the mod forces its unknown-shaders setting to true at runtime. This is what lets Draconic Evolution entities render.[1][3]
- If ImmediatelyFast is installed, the mod forces its hud_batching setting to false at runtime. This lets Draconic Evolution's items render in the HUD.[1][3]
Config options in this pack
Every option lives in config/derenderpatcher-client.toml, and this pack has each of them set to true.[3]
- enableFix turns the Draconic Render Patch itself on.[3]
- enableImmediatelyFastCompat forces ImmediatelyFast's hud_batching to false so Draconic Evolution's items can render in the HUD.[3]
- enableIrisCompat forces the unknown-shaders setting on in Iris so Draconic Evolution entities render. Its own comment says it will try to override your Iris settings.[3]
Which Draconic Evolution Render Patcher config options matter?
1 part
Same as in the FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 guide
Everything for this mod lives in the client-side file config/derenderpatcher-client.toml. In this pack every option is switched on, so you don't need to touch anything to get Draconic Evolution rendering properly.[1][3]
- enableFix is set to true in this pack. This turns on the Draconic Render Patch itself, which fixes rendering issues between Draconic Evolution and Embeddium or Sodium.[1][3]
- enableImmediatelyFastCompat is set to true in this pack. It forces ImmediatelyFast's runtime hud_batching setting to false so Draconic Evolution's items can render in the HUD.[1][3]
- enableIrisCompat is set to true in this pack. It forces the unknown shaders setting in Iris to true so Draconic Evolution entities render. The config notes that this will try to override your Iris settings.[1][3]
What happens if you turn them off
If you disable these changes, each mod goes back to using its own configuration settings. The patcher only forces a setting when the matching mod is installed, so the ImmediatelyFast and Iris options only matter if you have those mods.[1]
What changed in Draconic Evolution Render Patcher between versions?
1 part
FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 ships Draconic Evolution Render Patcher 2.0.0. The mod was first included in Aero 1.0.3 or earlier, so it has been in the pack for a long time.[4]
Version 2.0.0
This is the version you have in the pack right now. The mod's own changelog lists these changes:[4][5]
- The ImmediatelyFast and Iris compatibility layers were reworked so they apply their values at runtime.[5]
- The /derender status command was reworked to show clearer and more detailed compatibility information.[5]
- The mod no longer makes direct changes to the Iris and ImmediatelyFast config files.[5]
- Legacy config cleanup was added for comments and markers generated by version 1.1.3 and older.[5]
- The minimum supported ImmediatelyFast version is now 1.6.10.[5]
Unverified No pack changelog entries for this mod were available, so what changed for it between individual pack releases is unverified.

We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as derenderpatcher, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
