How does Create Aeronautics: Covers work?

Aeronautics Covers solves one specific problem: regular Cable Facades only work on static blocks. If you facade a cable and then assemble your ship, the facade falls off. The Cover behaves like a facade but survives assembly, and that is the whole idea of the mod.[1]
In the mod's own tooltip words, it survives Create contraption and physics ship assembly, and regular facades do not.[2]
What happens on a contraption or ship
- Your covers travel with the contraption or ship.[1]
- They render in flight and collide correctly.[1]
- On disassembly they come back to normal blocks.[1]
The mod page says this works on Create contraptions and on Aeronautics / Simulated physics ships.[1]
Using covers
- Get hold of covers. The pack's recipe for the base item is shown below.[3]
- Right click a cable or any block to apply a cover.[1]
- To take it off again, pick it off with the Cable Facades wrench.[1]

The mod also adds the Directional Cover. In this pack, a single Cover is turned into 6 Directional Covers with a shapeless crafting recipe.[3]
