Crushed Basalt (Crush Basalt!)
Basalt can be obtained the usual, if complicated, vanilla way. Lava flowing onto Soul Soil will turn into basalt if it also touches Blue Ice, similar to generating cobblestone. Blue ice can be tricky to obtain, but by pumping water into an automated Tempered Jar settled over a source of chilling temperature, you can build up plenty of ice to compress. Try placing water in a cold biome or high altitude to freeze.

While the sifting progression is relatively straightforward, some crystalmancy and cultivation options (as well as more complex materials) can be a little harder to figure out. Hopefully this guide can ease up on the recipe menu squint! Green: Obtainable at the start of a path or easy to obtain at your island. Yellow: Trickier to understand, may require exploration off your island or self-guidance. Red: Very few options, general purpose ore generation almost required. See these options at the bottom.

Piglin Trading (Nether Quartz and Black Quartz)
After entering the Nether void, various porcine creatures may appear if given a large enough surface. Some of them may attack you on sight, but these Piglins are neutral to anyone wearing gold. Gold ingots can be tossed nearby or handed to them directly, which they will consider for a moment before giving something back in return. This could be nether quartz or black quartz, or a fair number of other useful goods.
