What is Soulplied Energistics?
2 parts
Soulplied Energistics is an addon that lets you move souls around with Applied Energistics 2. It works with IF Souls: your ME network can reach the Warden Souls stored in IF Souls machines and hand them out when something needs them. This pack includes version 1.0.3.[1][2]
How it works, per the quest book
The pack's quest book gives the mod a short rundown in "Soulplied Energistics" quest, which is a checkmark quest, so there is nothing to craft to complete it. It describes three steps:[2]
- Attach a Storage Bus to the Soul Laser Base. Your network can then access the Warden Souls inside it.[2]
- Right-click any IF Souls item on an Interface Filter to request Souls stored in your system.[2]
- Attach a Soul Pipe to the Interface. It uses its Warden Souls to power Soul Surges.[2]
Where it sits in the quest book
The quest lives in the "Applied Energistics 2" chapter. That chapter is in the "Logistics" group and is chapter 11 of 41 in the book. It has 56 quests.[2]
Two quests come right before it: "Storage Bus" and "Transporting Souls". Do both of those first, because the Soulplied Energistics quest unlocks after them. Which quests come after it isn't shown in the quest text available here, so check the chapter in your quest book.[2]
The rest of the chapter covers the AE2 basics. It starts with "Getting Started With Applied Energistics!" quest and goes through crystals, processors, power and automation. Most of that chapter's quests aren't reproduced here, so open the quest book to read them.[2]
How do you get started with Soulplied Energistics?
2 parts
Soulplied Energistics is an addon for IF Souls that lets you move souls around with AE2. That means you need a working AE2 network before you touch it. In the quest book it sits in the "Applied Energistics 2" chapter (Logistics group, chapter 11 of 41). Its quest, "Soulplied Energistics" quest, comes after the Storage Bus quest and the Transporting Souls quest.[2]
The path to your first soul network
- Build a Charger ("Getting Started With Applied Energistics!" quest). It accepts power to charge items, and you need that for the progression of the mod.[2]
- Get Certus Quartz Crystal ("A Certain Quartz" quest). You can purify Budding Black Quartz with Advanced DireGoo, or trade with a villager who uses the charger as a job site (a Fluix Researcher). The quest also covers where the presses come from.[2]
- Make Fluix Crystal ("Fluix Crystals" quest). Charge Certus Quartz in the charger, then toss it into a pool of water with redstone and nether quartz.[2]
- Set up an Inscriber ("Inscribing Processors" quest) and make Printed Silicon ("Silicon" quest). Then finish your processors in another Inscriber ("Completing Processors" quest). Most AE2 electronics need them, so automate this early.[2]
- Power and wire the network. An Energy Acceptor turns FE into AE, and Fluix ME Glass Cable carries it ("Powering Your Network" quest). The pack sets channels to 4x, which gives you 32 channels per network before you need a Controller ("Cables and Channels" quest).[2]
- Start your digital storage with an ME Drive and some storage cells ("The Start of Digital Storage!" quest).[2]
- Learn the ME Storage Bus ("Storage Bus" quest), which comes after the ME Interface quest ("ME Interface" quest). Soulplied Energistics relies on it.[2]
Then the soul part
Once the network is up, the Soulplied Energistics quest describes the setup. Attach a Storage Bus to the Soul Laser Base and your network can access the Warden Souls inside it. Right-click any IF Souls item on an Interface Filter to request souls stored in your system. Then attach a Soul Pipe to the Interface, and it uses its Warden Souls to power Soul Surges.[2]
Unverified The mod's own item names and crafting recipes could not be confirmed from the available sources, so check JEI in game for them. The quest book also has 17 more quests in the Applied Energistics 2 chapter that are not covered here. This site does hold FTB Skies 2's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you progress through Soulplied Energistics?
2 parts
Soulplied Energistics is the last stop of a long AE2 chain. In the quest book it sits in the "Applied Energistics 2" chapter (group "Logistics", chapter 11 of 41, 56 quests), and it is a checkmark quest: there is no item to hand in, you just read it and tick it off.[2]
The sources describe no tiers for this mod. Its progression is the AE2 path you walk to reach it, so here is that route in quest order.[2]
The route to Soulplied Energistics
- "Getting Started With Applied Energistics!" quest starts the chapter with the Charger, which charges items you need for the rest of the mod's progression.[2]
- "A Certain Quartz" quest is about getting Certus Quartz Crystal. You can purify Budding Black Quartz with Advanced DireGoo, or trade with a villager that uses a charger as its job site (the Fluix Researcher).[2]
- "Certus Quartz Budding" quest covers growing crystals from budding blocks, and "Fluix Crystals" quest shows how to make Fluix Crystal by charging Certus and tossing it into water with redstone and nether quartz.[2]
- "Inscribing Processors" quest introduces the Inscriber, which makes the processors for your network parts. Then "Silicon" quest and "Completing Processors" quest take you through Printed Silicon and finished Processors.[2]
- "ME Interface" quest comes right after Completing Processors. The Interface is a block with 9 configurable slots that fills or empties itself from network storage.[2]
- "Storage Bus" quest follows the Interface. It lets your network see and use items inside an external storage block or network.[2]
- "Soulplied Energistics" quest unlocks once you have done the Storage Bus quest and a quest named Transporting Souls. That second quest is not covered in the sources I have.[2]
What the quest asks you to do
The quest describes Soulplied Energistics as an addon for IF Souls that lets you move souls through AE2. You attach a Storage Bus to the Soul Laser Base, and your network can then reach the Warden Souls inside it.[2]
From there, right-click any IF Souls item on an Interface Filter to request souls stored in your system. Finally, attach a Soul Pipe to the Interface and it will use its Warden Souls to power Soul Surges.[2]
Unverified This pack's sources do not confirm crafting recipes for any Soulplied Energistics item, so none are shown here. Check in-game with JEI before planning a build around them. This site does hold FTB Skies 2's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Which FTB Skies 2 quests use Soulplied Energistics?
3 parts
Soulplied Energistics has exactly one quest, and it sits inside the main Applied Energistics 2 chapter. That chapter is in the Logistics group, chapter 11 of 41 in the quest book, and has 56 quests. There is no separate chapter for this mod.[2]
The quest
"Soulplied Energistics" quest is a checkmark quest, so you don't have to hand in any item. It explains that Soulplied Energistics is an addon for IF Souls that lets you move souls through AE2. The quest text gives three steps: attach a Storage Bus to the Soul Laser Base so your network can reach the Warden Souls inside it, right-click any IF Souls item on an Interface Filter to request souls stored in your system, and attach a Soul Pipe to the Interface so it uses those Warden Souls to power Soul Surges.[2]
What comes before it
The quest has two prerequisites: "Storage Bus" quest and a quest called Transporting Souls. Transporting Souls is not part of the AE2 chapter text I was given, so I can't tell you what it asks for. The Storage Bus quest is the one you reach through the AE2 chain below.[2]
- "Getting Started With Applied Energistics!" quest: build the Charger.[2]
- "A Certain Quartz" quest, then "Certus Quartz Budding" quest.[2]
- "Inscribing Processors" quest, then "Silicon" quest, then "Completing Processors" quest.[2]
- "ME Interface" quest, which unlocks "Storage Bus" quest.[2]
- "Soulplied Energistics" quest, once Transporting Souls is also done.[2]
The Storage Bus quest asks for the ME Storage Bus plus three ExtendedAE storage bus variants. Its quest text says Storage Buses let your network see and interact with items inside an external storage block or network.[2]
What comes after it
No other quest in this chapter lists the Soulplied Energistics quest as a prerequisite, so it is the end of its branch. The other quest that follows "Storage Bus" quest is "AE2-Replication Bridge" quest.[2]

Items and blocks
We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as soulplied_energistics, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
