What is Armor Poser?

Armor Poser is included in this pack at version 6.2.4. The pack ships it as the NeoForge build for Minecraft 1.21.1.[1]

That is all I can confirm about the mod so far. I don't have a description of its features, so I won't guess at what it does or who it suits best.[1]

Unverified No quests or ATM Star path involvement for Armor Poser are shown in the available sources, and no recipes, configs or in-game guidebook entries for it were found. Where it fits in the pack's progression is unverified. This site does hold FTB Skies 2's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How do you get started with Armor Poser?

2 parts

Armor Poser doesn't add a long progression to work through. It adds a configuration screen for Armor Stands, so your first step is to get an Armor Stand in front of you and open that screen. Shift + right-click the stand to open it. This only works while the enableConfigGui option is turned on.[2]

What you can do in the posing screen

Once the screen is open, these are the controls that are confirmed for this pack's version of the mod:[2]

  • Scroll to increase or decrease an angle value. This needs the allowScrolling option enabled.[2]
  • Align the held block so it appears on the surface, or align the held tool so it appears flat on the surface.[2]
  • Align the held item so it appears flat on the surface. Hold shift and it appears upright instead.[2]
  • Copy the current pose to the clipboard and paste it onto another stand, which is handy for matching a set of stands.[2]
  • Save the current pose to your user poses so you can reuse it.[2]
  • Swap the main and off hand, or swap the main hand and the head.[2]
  • Toggle name visibility.[2]
  • To adjust the Y position, you first have to disable gravity.[2]

Naming and resizing

Renaming a stand with a name tag only works if the enableNameTags option is on. Resizing can be locked down too: with restrictResizeToOP enabled, only server operators can resize a stand, and the size control shows as disabled for everyone else. The resizeWhitelist option lists the players who are still allowed to resize in that case. On a server, check these before you wonder why a control is greyed out.[2]

Tip: If shift + right-clicking a stand doesn't open the screen, the enableConfigGui option may be switched off. Ask the server owner or check the config.[2]

Unverified No recipes, quests or guidebook entries for Armor Poser could be confirmed in this pack, so there is no crafting order to follow. The default values of the config options are also unconfirmed.

How does Armor Poser work?

3 parts

Armor Poser is a small utility mod for armor stands. The sources for this pack only describe its posing screen and its config options, so there are no machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation to cover here.[2][3]

Opening the posing screen

Shift right click an armor stand to bring up the Armor Stand configuration GUI. This is controlled by General.enableConfigGui, which is set to true in the pack.[2][3]

Inside the posing screen, General.allowScrolling lets you scroll to increase or decrease an angle value. It is enabled in the pack, so you can fine-tune angles with the mouse wheel.[2][3]

Screen buttons

The screen has several helper buttons. These are the ones the tooltips describe:[2]

  • Align held block, so it appears on the surface.[2]
  • Align held item, so it appears flat on the surface. Holding shift aligns it so it appears upright instead.[2]
  • Align held tool, so it appears flat on the surface.[2]
  • Copy the current pose to the clipboard, or paste a pose from the clipboard.[2]
  • Save the current pose to your user poses.[2]
  • Swap the main and off hand, or swap the main hand and head.[2]
  • Toggle name visibility.[2]
Tip: If the Y position control is greyed out, the tooltip tells you to disable gravity on the armor stand first to adjust its Y position.[2]

Names and resizing

General.enableNameTags allows armor stands to be renamed with name tags. It is true in the pack.[2][3]

Resizing is governed by General.restrictResizeToOP. The pack sets it to false, so resizing is not restricted to server operators. If an admin turns it on, only operators can resize, and the size control shows a tooltip saying size is restricted to server operators. General.resizeWhitelist lists players who may still resize while the restriction is on. It is empty in the pack.[2][3]

Unverified The sources do not explain any further mechanics, such as how poses are stored or the exact behaviour of each angle control, so those are not covered here.

Which Armor Poser config options matter?

1 part

Armor Poser keeps all of its settings in one file, config/armorposer-common.toml, under a single General section. It's a short list, so here is exactly how this pack sets each option.[3]

What the pack sets

Tip: Running a server and don't want everyone resizing Armor Stands? Set General.restrictResizeToOP to true, then add the names of trusted players to General.resizeWhitelist. With the pack's current settings the whitelist has no effect, because resizing isn't restricted in the first place.[3]

We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as armorposer, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
