What is Power Armor?
This pack ships Power Armor at version 1.0.7 (file power_armor-1.0.7.jar). It was already part of the pack in 1.0.2 or earlier, so it is not a recent addition.[1]
Unverified The sources here do not show what Power Armor adds or how its items work. No in-jar guidebook and no platform description were available for this mod, so check the items in game rather than relying on this page for mechanics.
How do you get started with Power Armor?
6 parts
Power Armor adds armor pieces, a Battery, an Armor Modification Table and a set of Armor Modules. The pack has a crafting recipe for each item in this guide, so you can start right away. Here is the order we will go through, with the exact in-pack recipe shown for each step.[2][3]
First: the Machine Frame
Start with the power_armor:machine_frame. Heads up: the pack changed this recipe, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. Use the recipe below.[2][3]

Next: Armor Plating
One craft of power_armor:armor_plating gives you 2 plates.[2][3]
Crafting Shaped
| any iron plate |
| any copper wire |
| any iron plate |
Recipe id: power_armor:armor_plating
Then: the Armor Modification Table
The power_armor:armor_modification_table has its own energy buffer. Its capacity (energy.capacity.armor_modification_table_energy_capacity) is 256,000 and its transfer (energy.transfer.armor_modification_table_energy_transfer) is 128. Both match the mod defaults.[3][4]

The armor pieces
Now craft the armor pieces: power_armor:power_armor_helmet, power_armor:power_armor_chestplate, power_armor:power_armor_leggings and power_armor:power_armor_boots. The in-pack recipes follow.[2][3]

The armor's energy settings are energy.capacity.power_armor_energy_capacity at 64,000 and energy.transfer.power_armor_energy_transfer at 32. Both are the mod defaults.[4]
The Battery
The power_armor:battery is an item with its own energy storage. Its capacity (energy.capacity.battery_energy_capacity) is 64,000 and its transfer (energy.transfer.battery_energy_transfer) is 32, the same numbers as the armor.[3][4]

Modules
Modules start from the power_armor:armor_module_blank. One craft makes 3 of them.[2][3]

The mod has these modules, and every one has its own recipe in the pack:[2][3]
- power_armor:armor_module_energy: its energy multiplier (module.energy.power_armor_energy_module_multiplier) is 4.[2][3][4]
- power_armor:armor_module_solar: its energy production (module.energy.production.power_armor_solar_module_energy_production) is 4.[2][3][4]
- power_armor:armor_module_night_vision: energy usage (module.energy.usage.power_armor_night_vision_energy_usage) is 1.[2][3][4]
- power_armor:armor_module_speed: energy usage (module.energy.usage.power_armor_speed_module_energy_usage) is 2.[2][3][4]
- power_armor:armor_module_jetpack: energy usage (module.energy.usage.power_armor_jetpack_module_energy_usage) is 2.[2][3][4]
- power_armor:armor_module_plating: energy usage (module.energy.usage.power_armor_plating_energy_usage) is 200.[2][3][4]
- power_armor:armor_module_laser: it has a recipe in the pack, but the sources here show no energy setting for it.[2][3]
How does Power Armor work?
4 parts
In this pack, the parts of Power Armor that the sources spell out are its energy numbers: how much each piece stores, how fast it moves energy, and what each armor module costs or produces. Here is how that looks, plus the places where the pack has changed things.[4]
Energy storage and transfer
The pack's common config sets a capacity and a transfer value for the Armor Modification Table, the Battery, the power armor and the Compressor. Each of those values matches the mod default, so none of them has been rebalanced.[4]
- power_armor:armor_modification_table: capacity 256,000 (energy.capacity.armor_modification_table_energy_capacity) and transfer 128 (energy.transfer.armor_modification_table_energy_transfer). This is the biggest buffer of the set.[4]
- power_armor:battery: capacity 64,000 (energy.capacity.battery_energy_capacity) and transfer 32 (energy.transfer.battery_energy_transfer).[4]
- The power armor itself: capacity 64,000 (energy.capacity.power_armor_energy_capacity) and transfer 32 (energy.transfer.power_armor_energy_transfer).[4]
- The Compressor: capacity 16,000 (energy.capacity.compressor_energy_capacity), transfer 32 (energy.transfer.compressor_energy_transfer) and a usage of 8 per tick (energy.usage.compressor_energy_usage).[4]
Armor module energy
The modules each have their own energy setting in the config. The values below are the pack's, and they match the mod defaults.[4]
- power_armor:armor_module_plating: energy usage 200 (module.energy.usage.power_armor_plating_energy_usage). It is by far the hungriest module.[4]
- power_armor:armor_module_jetpack: energy usage 2 (module.energy.usage.power_armor_jetpack_module_energy_usage).[3][4]
- power_armor:armor_module_speed: energy usage 2 (module.energy.usage.power_armor_speed_module_energy_usage).[3][4]
- power_armor:armor_module_night_vision: energy usage 1 (module.energy.usage.power_armor_night_vision_energy_usage).[3][4]
- power_armor:armor_module_solar: energy production 4 (module.energy.production.power_armor_solar_module_energy_production).[3][4]
- power_armor:armor_module_energy: an energy multiplier of 4 (module.energy.power_armor_energy_module_multiplier).[3][4]
What the pack changed
The power_armor:machine_frame has a different recipe in this pack than in the mod. If you follow a guide written for the mod on its own, check the recipe below first.[2]
Crafting Shaped
| any iron ingot | any redstone dust | any iron ingot |
| any redstone dust | any iron storage block | any redstone dust |
| any iron ingot | any redstone dust | any iron ingot |
Recipe id: power_armor:machine_frame
This is the pack's changed version of the Machine Frame recipe.
The Compressor is switched off in the pack. A script removes every recipe that makes or uses power_armor:compressor, takes it out of item tags, hides it from recipe viewers and removes the compressing recipe category. Its config values still exist, but you should not plan a build around it.[4][5]
The power_armor:creative_battery is hidden from recipe viewers too, so do not expect to look it up there.[6]
Placing and breaking the machines
The Armor Modification Table, the Compressor and the Machine Frame each drop themselves when broken, with no extra conditions beyond surviving an explosion. You can pick the table up and move it without losing the block.[7][8][9]

How do you progress through Power Armor?
4 parts
Power Armor gives you a full set of armor: power_armor:power_armor_helmet, power_armor:power_armor_chestplate, power_armor:power_armor_leggings and power_armor:power_armor_boots. Each piece is a shaped crafting recipe in this pack. Below are the parts you make along the way and the places where the pack changes things.[2]
Core parts
The power_armor:machine_frame is the one Power Armor recipe the pack has changed. The recipe below is the in-pack version, so don't rely on the mod's default.[2]

What the pack removes or hides
The pack removes every recipe that makes or uses the mod's Compressor, hides the item, and removes the Compressing category from the recipe viewer. Don't go hunting for it.[5]
The pack also hides the mod's Creative Battery from recipe viewers, so you won't see it while browsing.[6]
Unverified The sources here do not show a quest-guided order or a tier breakdown for this mod, so the sections above only list the in-pack recipes. Any ordering beyond that is not confirmed here.
Which Power Armor config options matter?
3 parts
Everything tweakable for Power Armor lives in one file, config/power_armor-common.toml. Here's the good news: in this pack every option in that file is set to the mod's own default, so the pack changes nothing. Every option also accepts any value above 0.[4]
Energy capacity
- energy.capacity.armor_modification_table_energy_capacity is 256,000 for the Armor Modification Table.[4]
- energy.capacity.battery_energy_capacity is 64,000 for the Battery item.[4]
- energy.capacity.power_armor_energy_capacity is 64,000 for the Power Armor.[4]
- energy.capacity.compressor_energy_capacity is 16,000 for the Compressor.[4]
Energy transfer and compressor usage
- energy.transfer.armor_modification_table_energy_transfer is 128 for the Armor Modification Table.[4]
- energy.transfer.battery_energy_transfer, energy.transfer.compressor_energy_transfer and energy.transfer.power_armor_energy_transfer are all 32.[4]
- energy.usage.compressor_energy_usage is 8 per tick for the Compressor.[4]
Module energy
- module.energy.power_armor_energy_module_multiplier is 4, the multiplier for the Power Armor Energy Module.[4]
- module.energy.production.power_armor_solar_module_energy_production is 4 for the Solar Module.[4]
- module.energy.usage.power_armor_jetpack_module_energy_usage is 2 for the Jetpack Module.[4]
- module.energy.usage.power_armor_speed_module_energy_usage is 2 for the Speed Module.[4]
- module.energy.usage.power_armor_night_vision_energy_usage is 1 for the Night Vision Module.[4]
- module.energy.usage.power_armor_plating_energy_usage is 200 for the Plating Module.[4]
