What is Jade 🔍?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Jade is the information HUD mod. Point your crosshair at a block or an entity and a small tooltip tells you what it is. It's the Hwyla/Waila idea rebuilt for modern Minecraft versions, and it's a big help in a pack with this many blocks and machines.[1]
The pack ships Jade 15.10.6 for NeoForge, and it has been in the pack since version 2.25 or earlier.[2]
Who it's for
It's for everyone, whether you're new or deep into the pack. Compared with Hwyla, Jade has a redesigned API, more vanilla addons, higher configurability and better accessibility.[1]
Default keys
- Keypad 0: open the configuration screen.[1]
- Keypad 1: toggle the overlay.[1]
- Keypad 2: toggle liquid display.[1]
- Keypad 3: show recipes (requires JEI).[1]
- Keypad 4: show uses (requires JEI).[1]
- Keypad 5: narrate the target.[1]
Unverified The sources don't show Jade on the ATM Star path, and no quests in this pack involve it. It's a quality-of-life tool rather than a progression step. Whether the pack changes any of Jade's default settings isn't confirmed.
How do you get started with Jade 🔍?
2 parts
Jade 🔍 is an information HUD. It shows you details about whatever block or entity you are looking at, so it is one of the most useful things to have running while you learn a modded world. It is a Hwyla/Waila fork, so if you have used either of those, you already know the idea.[1]
There is nothing for you to craft first. Jade works as soon as you load in, so your first steps are learning the keys and tuning the overlay to suit you.[1]
Learn the default keys
These are the mod's default key binds.[1]
- Keypad 0: open the configuration screen.[1]
- Keypad 1: toggle the overlay on and off.[1]
- Keypad 2: toggle the liquid display.[1]
- Keypad 3: show recipes (requires JEI).[1]
- Keypad 4: show uses (requires JEI).[1]
- Keypad 5: narrate the target.[1]
Tune the overlay
Open the configuration screen first. Display Mode controls how the tooltip behaves, with these choices: Toggle, Hold and Lite. In Toggle, pressing the overlay key switches it on and off. In Hold, you must keep the overlay key held. In Lite, you hold the details key to see further information.[3]
The same screen lets you change the icon position, the background opacity, the display scale, the theme and the overlay position. If the tooltip gets in your way, there are options to hide it from GUIs and from the player list.[3]
There is also a Mod Name on Item Tooltip option. It shows which mod an item comes from, which is handy when you meet a lot of unfamiliar items.[3]
Unverified Which Jade settings this pack changes from the mod's defaults, including whether it rebinds any of the keys above, is not shown in the sources here. Check the in-game Jade configuration screen and your controls menu for the current values.
How does Jade 🔍 work?
5 parts
Jade 🔍 doesn't add machines, multiblocks or recipes. It is an information HUD: it shows details about whatever block or entity you are looking at. It's a fork of Hwyla/Waila for modern Minecraft. So the mechanics here are about what the tooltip shows, when it shows it, and what needs the mod on the server.[1]
Client side and server side
You can install Jade on the client only. But many features need Jade on the server as well. The mod's own examples are item storage, the brewing stand fuel amount and the bees in a beehive.[1]
How the tooltip appears
The Display Mode setting decides how the tooltip behaves in normal play and how the details key works. The modes are:[3]
- Toggle: pressing the show overlay key switches the tooltip on and off.[3]
- Hold: you must keep the show overlay key held to see the tooltip.[3]
- Lite: you hold the show details key to reveal further information.[3]
There is also a global switch that enables or disables the tooltip entirely. Options let you hide it on most GUI screens and while the player list is open. Animation, background opacity, display scale, theme and overlay position are adjustable too.[3]
Default keys
- Keypad 0: open the configuration screen.[1]
- Keypad 1: toggle the overlay.[1]
- Keypad 2: toggle liquid display.[1]
- Keypad 3: show recipes (requires JEI).[1]
- Keypad 4: show uses (requires JEI).[1]
- Keypad 5: narrate the target.[1]
These are the mod's defaults. The sources here don't show whether the pack rebinds them, so check your own controls screen.[1]
Fluids, energy and storage readouts
Jade can show fluids as a target. The Display Fluids setting offers Any, None and Fallback. Fallback only shows a fluid when there is no other target.[3]
Machines and tanks from other mods can report their contents through the Energy Storage and Fluid Storage entries. Each one can be drawn as an icon, plain text or a progress bar. Each also has a Detailed-Only option, which shows the info only while the show details key is pressed.[3]
Core info options
The Core Features group controls what extra lines appear under the target name. You can toggle the block face you are touching, block properties and block states, coordinates, the distance to the target, the mod name and the registry name.[3]
- Relative coordinates need Ctrl held.[3]
- The loot table line requires OP permission.[3]
- Perspective Mode can be From Eye, which is more accurate while you are moving, or From Camera, which is more compatible with other mods that change the camera.[3]
The Minecraft plugin section adds many vanilla readouts you can switch on or off. These include crop progress, breaking progress, the brewing stand, the beehive, furnace contents, harvest tool, enchantment power, horse stats, entity health and entity armor.[3]
An Accessibility plugin is also included. When enabled, it displays and narrates more details, such as block details, entity details and sign content.[3]

We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as jade, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
