What is Incendium Legacy?
2 parts
Incendium Legacy completely reworks the Nether. It is a datapack that goes well beyond what Minecraft's own 1.16 Nether Update did, so if you are tired of the same old Nether, this is the one that shakes it up.[1]
This pack, FTB Evolution 2 1.1.0, includes Incendium Legacy 5.4.12. The mod has been in the pack since 1.0.2 or earlier.[2]
What it adds
- Biomes: 8 new Nether biomes, including the Quartz Flats, the Withered Forest and the Infernal Dunes. Each has its own block theme, and the mod highlights 3D biomes and opportunities for new farms.[1]
- Structures: 9 or more to explore. The Forbidden Castle in the Ash Barrens is guarded by Piglins. The Sanctum is held by illagers. The Quartz Kitchen belongs to the skeleton chef Torte, and the Nether Reactor to the Withered Director.[1]
- Items: over 25 pieces of loot and custom gear. Examples are the Trailblazer, a flame-spewing bow, the Greatsword of Sacrifice and Hefty Pickaxe from the Forbidden Castle, and the Hazmat Suit.[1]
- Mobs: Toxic Slimes in the Toxic Heap and Restless Spirits in the Withered Forest. You can also rescue a Ghastling from the Abandoned Tower, and it will defend you from Ghasts. For a real fight, you can summon the Hovering Inferno boss.[1]
Before you jump in
The mod has an optional resource pack called Sparkles that gives all its items their own textures. It is not required.[1]
How do you get started with Incendium Legacy?
2 parts
Incendium Legacy overhauls the Nether. It adds 8 biomes, 9+ structures, custom mobs and over 25 items, most of which you earn by exploring and fighting. This section covers what the sources confirm about getting started.[1]
Before you head into the Nether
- Use a fresh Nether. The mod's project page says not to add it to an existing Nether, so reset yours first or start a new world.[1]
- Do not combine it with Amplified Nether. The project page says Incendium is not compatible with it.[1]
- The optional Sparkles resource pack gives every item its own texture. The project page says it is not required.[1]
What to aim for first
Incendium pays out through loot and fights. The project page says every mob you defeat and every structure you conquer has its reward, including rich loot and custom weapons.[1]
- The Forbidden Castle in the Ash Barrens is defended by Piglins. The project page says it hides the Greatsword of Sacrifice (high damage, but taxing) and the helpful Hefty Pickaxe.[1]
- The Sanctum is held by illagers who defend dark secrets and strong weapons.[1]
- The Hovering Inferno is a boss you can summon. Defeating it could earn you the Trailblazer, a flame-spewing bow.[1]
- The Hazmat Suit protects you from all types of poisonous attacks. The Toxic Heap is home to the agile Toxic Slimes.[1]
Unverified The sources here show no in-pack recipes for Incendium items, no quests that involve the mod, and no config files for it. This guide cannot give a crafting order or a quest path for it, so use the loot and structures above as your guide.
How does Incendium Legacy work?
4 parts
Incendium Legacy is not a tech mod. It is a datapack that completely revamps the Nether, so its "mechanics" are world generation, structures, mobs and loot rather than machines, power or fluids. The sources here do not describe any machine, multiblock or automation system for it, so this section covers what they do show.[1]
Before you start a world
- Do not add it to an existing Nether. Reset yours first, or use a new world.[1]
- It is not compatible with Amplified Nether.[1]
- An optional resource pack called Sparkles gives every item its own texture. It is not required.[1]
Biomes and structures
The mod adds 8 unique biomes to the Nether, including the Quartz Flats, the Withered Forest and the Infernal Dunes. Each has its own block theme, and the project page says they give technical players opportunities for new farms.[1]
On top of that there are 9+ structures. The Forbidden Castle sits in the Ash Barrens and is guarded by Piglins. The Sanctum is held by illagers. The skeleton chef Torte defends the Quartz Kitchen, and the Withered Director defends the Nether Reactor.[1]
How structures are built
The Pipeline is a jigsaw structure that starts from the pool incendium:pipes/pipe_start. It has a size of 7 and generates in the underground decoration step, with a fixed start height of 33. It can spread up to 80 from its center, and it does not adapt to the terrain. It only appears in biomes listed in the incendium:structure/has_pipeline tag.[3]
Several structures also use processor lists, which tweak blocks as the structure is placed. That is why generated copies of a structure can look a little different from each other. These are the ones the sources show:[4][5][6][7][8][9][10]
- Castle tower: glowstone is replaced with air at a probability of 0.5.[5]
- Castle floor and castle dining: both use a block ignore processor with an empty block list.[4][6]
- Large pipe: cobweb becomes cave air at 0.5, blackstone becomes gilded blackstone at 0.3, and red nether bricks and red nether brick stairs each become air at 0.1. Cyan terracotta becomes cave air at 0.01 and gray concrete at 0.1. Air at a lava position is replaced with lava, and plain air gets a cobweb at 0.005.[7]
- Wither arena: honey blocks are replaced with air.[9]
- Za Warudo stand: brewing stands are randomly swapped for pressure plates. The light weighted plate has a probability of 0.15, the heavy weighted plate 0.1 and the polished blackstone plate 0.2.[10]
- Void: all air is turned into structure void (probability 1).[8]
Rewards and loot
Mobs and structures pay out through loot tables. The project page highlights the Trailblazer, a flame-spewing bow from the Hovering Inferno. The Greatsword of Sacrifice and the Hefty Pickaxe are in the Forbidden Castle, and there is also a Hazmat Suit. It lists over 25 items in total.[1]
The Firestorm and Ragnarok drops each give one roll from their own weapon loot table, plus a separate roll of spectral arrows. The arrow count is binomial with n of 72 and p of 0.75.[11][12]
Banner loot such as the Banner of the Blade and the Ominous Banner is a regular banner with a preset pattern list. It has a gold italic name, and the pattern list is hidden in its tooltip.[13][14]
Unverified What most artifact weapons and armor actually do, and the contents of most of the other artifact loot tables, are not shown in the sources here. The mod has no in-jar guidebook, and its data files in the jar hold the rest.
How do you progress through Incendium Legacy?
2 parts
This one is short, and I want to be upfront about why. The data I have for Incendium Legacy in this pack is loot table data from the mod's own files, so it shows rewards you can find, not a step-by-step tier ladder. Here is what those files confirm.[11][12][13][14]
Artifact banners
- Banner of the Blade is a Black Banner with a layered set of banner patterns. Its name shows in gold italics, and the pattern list is hidden from the tooltip.[13]
- Ominous Banner is a White Banner with its own layered patterns. It also has a gold italic name and a hidden pattern list.[14]
Weapon drops
The Firestorm drop and the Ragnarok drop are built the same way. The first pool points to a weapon loot table (incendium:artifact/weapon/firestorm or incendium:artifact/weapon/ragnarok). The second pool gives Spectral Arrow items, with the count set by a binomial roll of 72 tries at a 0.75 chance each.[11][12]
Unverified The remaining artifact loot tables for this mod (patron items, miscellaneous artifacts and the rest of the banners) live in the mod's data files under data/incendium/loot_table/artifact. The sources here do not show their contents, so they are not described.
What changed in Incendium Legacy between versions?
1 part
FTB Evolution 2 1.1.0 ships Incendium Legacy version 5.4.12. The mod was already in the pack as of 1.0.2 or earlier, so it is not a new addition in this release.[2]
Incendium 5.4.12
This is the version you get in the pack, and the mod's own changelog lists these changes:[2][15]
- Adds support for 26.1.[15]
- Fixes the Voltaic Trident bugging out.[15]
- Fixes Firestorm not working after the first shot.[15]
If you tried Firestorm and it stopped working after one shot, that is the bug this version fixes.[15]
Unverified The sources here include no pack changelog entries for Incendium Legacy, so what changed for this mod between individual FTB Evolution 2 releases is not shown. Only the mod's own 5.4.12 changelog is covered above.

Items and blocks
We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as incendium, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
