What is FTB Library?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

FTB Library is part of the pack, and the pack ships version 2101.1.35 of it, as the file ftb-library-neoforge-2101.1.35.jar. It has been in the pack since version 2.25 or earlier.[1]

Unverified The sources I have don't describe what FTB Library does, who it is aimed at, or where it fits in the pack's progression. I also can't confirm any recipes, configs, quests or ATM Star path involvement for it, so none are covered here.

How do you get started with FTB Library?

1 part

Same as in the All the Mons 1.3.0 guide

FTB Library is a support mod, so there is no crafting chain to climb and nothing to build first. What you get are interface features, and it helps to know what they do.[2]

What you'll see in the game

  • Sidebar buttons: one opens the FTB Client Library config, one toggles between survival and creative mode, and one toggles the weather between clear and raining.[2]
  • Select screens: the Item, Fluid, Entity Face and Image select GUIs each have a client setting that shows the mod name.[2]
  • Standard GUI labels: the Library supplies common button and screen text such as Search..., Settings, Copy, Paste, Rename, Expand All and Collapse All.[2]
Tip: If you want to change how the select screens look, for example to show or hide the mod name in the Item Select GUI, start with the sidebar button that opens the FTB Client Library config.[2]
Watch out: The sidebar buttons that toggle between survival and creative mode and between clear and raining weather change your world directly. Use them deliberately, especially in a survival playthrough.[2]

How does FTB Library work?

3 parts

Same as in the All the Mons 1.3.0 guide

FTB Library is a support mod, and the sources available for this pack cover only a few of its player-facing pieces. They don't confirm any machines, multiblocks, power handling or automation for it, so this section sticks to what is shown.[2]

Sidebar buttons

The mod has sidebar buttons, each with its own tooltip. Here is what the tooltips say they do:[2]

  • A config button that opens the FTB Client Library config.[2]
  • A gamemode toggle that switches between survival and creative mode.[2]
  • A weather toggle that switches the weather between clear and raining.[2]

Selection screens

The client settings include options to show the mod name in the Item Select, Fluid Select, Image Select and Entity Face Select screens.[2]

There is also an FTB Icon, named FTB Icon. The sources give no description of what it does.[2]

Shared interface labels

The mod's language file includes interface labels such as Whitelist, Blacklist, Collapse All, Expand All, Copy, Cut, Paste, Rename and Settings. The sources don't say which screens use them.[2]

Which FTB Library config options matter?

2 parts

Good news: there is not much to tweak here. FTB Library ships two config files in this pack, one for the server and one for startup, and every option in both is left at the mod default. The pack changes nothing, so you do not need to hunt for edited values.[3][4]

Server config

The file is config/ftblibrary-server.json5. The options are named test1 to test5 and are split into two sections.[3]

Startup config

The file is config/ftblibrary-startup.json5. It has the same layout as the server file, plus one nested section with a list value.[4]

Tip: Since every value here matches the mod default, you can leave both files alone unless you have a specific reason to change them.[3][4]
