What is ForgeEndertech?

ForgeEndertech is part of this pack's mod list. The pack ships version 26.1.0.0, built for NeoForge 26.1.2.[1]

It has been in the pack since version 1.0.2 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]

Unverified What ForgeEndertech adds to the game is not shown in the sources available here. No mod description or in-jar guidebook was found for it, so this page does not describe its items or mechanics, and it does not say where the pack's quest book places the mod.

How do you get started with ForgeEndertech?

3 parts

ForgeEndertech is a mod where the useful parts show up in its config, so this page tells you what the pack's settings say rather than giving you a crafting order. That is the honest starting point for now.[2][3]

Unverified The sources here show no quests for this mod and no recipes for its items, so I can't tell you which item to craft first or how. Check the pack's in-game recipe viewer for anything from the forgeendertech namespace. This site does hold FTB Evolution 2's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

Painting needs supplies

If you try painting with this mod, keep supplies on you. In this pack, Painting.requiresDye is true, so you need a dye in your inventory. Painting.requiresWaterBucket is also true, so you need a bucket of water in your inventory too.[3]

Smoke containers and vents

The smoke container settings tell you how big your builds can be. The multiblock search checks at most 81 blocks (SmokeContainers.maxBlocksInMultiblock). A vent pipe for smoke or gas can be up to 32 blocks long (SmokeContainers.maxVentPipeLength). A vent can pull in a gas block from up to 4 blocks away (SmokeContainers.ventReachDistance).[3]

A connected exhaust pump creates chimney airflow of strength 1 here (SmokeContainers.pumpedChimneyAirflow).[3]

Hoppers can suck in pollution too, using the list in SmokeContainers.suctionHoppers. The suction range is the radius of a cylindrical area above the hopper, and that area is always 3 blocks high. The pack lists the vanilla Hopper at 8, brickhopper:brick_hopper at 6, goldenhopper:golden_hopper at 12 and littlelogistics:rapid_hopper at 12.[3]

Wind

The mod also has a wind system. Maximum wind strength is 10 (Wind.maxStrength). The direction is set to RANDOM (Wind.targetDirection). The other options are NORTH, SOUTH, WEST, EAST, PLAYER and SPAWN.[2]

Wind change is controlled by two values. The chance of a strength or direction change is 1 percent (Wind.changeProbability), and the change step is 0.15 (Wind.changeStep), which sets how fast the wind changes.[2]

Tip: Debug mode is off in this pack (debug is false), so you won't get extra debug behaviour unless you turn it on yourself.[3]

How does ForgeEndertech work?

5 parts

The sources I have for ForgeEndertech are its config files, so this section covers what those files show: smoke and gas handling, painting, and wind. They don't show the machines' recipes or how each multiblock is built, so I only go as far as the settings take us.[2][3]

Smoke containers and venting

The smoke container settings all sit under the SmokeContainers section of the common config. Together they tell you how big a container can be, how far gas can travel, and how pollution gets pulled in.[3]

  • SmokeContainers.maxBlocksInMultiblock is the maximum number of blocks checked when the mod searches for multiblock boundaries. It is 81 in this pack, the same as the mod default, and can go from 1 to 512.[3]
  • SmokeContainers.maxVentPipeLength is the maximum length of the vent pipe for smoke or gas transmission. It is 32 here, the same as the mod default, with a range of 1 to 64.[3]
  • SmokeContainers.ventReachDistance is the maximum distance from a vent to a gas block for it to be sucked in. It is 4 in this pack, the same as the mod default, with a range of 1 to 16.[3]
  • SmokeContainers.pumpedChimneyAirflow sets the strength of the airflow a connected exhaust pump creates in the chimney. It is 1 here, the same as the mod default, with a range of 0 to 10.[3]
Tip: If a multiblock refuses to form or a long vent run stops working, check the 81-block search limit and the 32-block vent pipe limit first. Those are the size caps this pack uses.[3]

Suction hoppers

SmokeContainers.suctionHoppers lists which hoppers can suck pollution in. Each entry is a block ID plus a suction range. The range is the radius of a cylindrical area above the hopper, and that area is always 3 blocks high.[3]

For the vanilla Hopper, the list gives a suction range of 8. The setting accepts values from 1 to 64.[3]

Painting

Both painting options are switched on in this pack. Painting.requiresDye is true, so a dye must be in your inventory to paint. Painting.requiresWaterBucket is also true, so a bucket of water must be in your inventory as well.[3]

Wind

The mod has a wind system, configured in its own Wind.cfg file. Wind strength and direction change over time, and these options control how.[2]

  • Wind.maxStrength is the maximum wind strength. It is 10, the same as the mod default, and can be set from 0 to 30.[2]
  • Wind.targetDirection defines the wind direction. The possible values are RANDOM, NORTH, SOUTH, WEST, EAST, PLAYER and SPAWN, and this pack uses RANDOM.[2]
  • Wind.changeProbability is the probability, in percent, that the wind strength and direction change. The file shows 1 with a range of 0.0 to 100.0. It flags the option as changed by the pack, although the value shown matches the mod default it lists.[2]
  • Wind.changeStep defines how fast the wind changes. The file shows 0.15 with a range of 0.0 to 1.0. It also flags this option as changed by the pack, although the value shown matches the listed mod default.[2]
  • Wind.randomSeed is the random seed for the wind. It is -2,134,459,901 here, the same as the mod default.[2]

Debug mode

debug enables or disables debug mode. It is false in this pack.[3]

Unverified The sources here show only the config values above. They don't show the mod's machine recipes, how each multiblock is built, or how power, fluid or item automation works, and no guidebook for this mod was found, so those details are unverified.

Which ForgeEndertech config options matter?

3 parts

ForgeEndertech has two config files in this pack: a common TOML for painting, smoke containers and debug, and a separate Wind.cfg. Here are the options you are most likely to touch, with the values this pack ships.[2][3]

Wind

The wind options live in Wind.cfg. The file marks Wind.changeProbability and Wind.changeStep as changed by the pack, but the values it lists (1 and 0.15) are the same as the mod default it shows next to them. So treat them as 1 and 0.15 in this pack and don't count on a visible difference.[2]

Smoke containers

All of these are at the mod default in this pack, so nothing here was changed. They are the ones to adjust if your smoke setups feel too tight or too loose.[3]

SmokeContainers.suctionHoppers lists each hopper with its suction radius. The radius is for a cylindrical area above the hopper, and that area is always 3 blocks tall. This pack sets Hopper to 8, and the list has three more entries with radii of 6, 12 and 12. Allowed values are 1 to 64.[3]

Painting and debug

Painting needs both a dye and a bucket of water in your inventory: Painting.requiresDye and Painting.requiresWaterBucket are both true. debug is false.[3]

We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as forgeendertech, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
