What is Enderthing?
This version of the pack ships Enderthing 1.10.2, using the file Enderthing-26.1.2-1.10.2.jar.[1]
It is not a new addition: the pack's mod list shows it was already included in 1.0.2 or earlier, so it has been part of the pack for a while.[1]
How do you get started with Enderthing?
4 parts
Enderthing adds the Ender Key, the Ender Pack, the Ender Lock and the Ender Security Card, and all of them have a crafting recipe in this pack. Here is the order I'd make them in.[2][3]
Start with the Ender Key
Make the Ender Key first. Shift-right-click it on a vanilla ender chest to open the shared inventory, so it shows you what the mod is about straight away.[3]

Next, the Ender Pack
The Ender Pack also opens the shared inventory, and it does it with a plain right-click.[3]

Then the Ender Lock
The Ender Lock is the item for setting up access. Shift-right-click it on an ender chest to set or replace the key. The Ender Key Chest tooltip also says to craft an Ender Lock and Shift-right-click it on a vanilla chest.[3]

Finish with the Ender Security Card
The Ender Security Card is about binding. Shift-right-click on air to bind it to you. Shift-right-click it on a private chest to bind the chest and allow automation.[3]

How does Enderthing work?
6 parts
Enderthing is about sharing and locking down ender-style storage. Everything runs through a handful of items. Here is how the pieces fit together, as far as the sources for this pack show.[3]
Opening the shared inventory
The screen for the shared storage is called the Global Ender Inventory. There are two ways in. Shift-right-click a vanilla ender chest with an Ender Key to open it, or right-click with an Ender Pack to open the shared inventory.[3]
Setting the key on an ender chest
An Ender Lock is what you use to change which key an ender chest answers to. Shift-right-click an ender chest with the lock to set or replace its key.[3]
Key chests
The mod also adds a chest of its own, the Ender Key Chest, with a private version called the Private Ender Key Chest. To make one, craft an Ender Lock and Shift-right-click it on a vanilla chest.[3]
What you get when you break a key chest depends on your tool. With Silk Touch you get the Ender Key Chest back, keeping its custom name, key, private flag and binding. Without Silk Touch you get an Ender Lock that keeps the key, private flag and binding, plus obsidian. An explosion can reduce that obsidian.[4]
Private and bound variants
Several items have a private version: the Private Ender Key, Private Ender Lock, Private Ender Pack and Private Ender Key Chest. There is also a Private Ender Inventory screen. The item tag for things that can be made private lists the key chest, the lock, the pack and the key.[3][5]
A separate tag covers what can be made bound, and it lists only the key chest and the lock.[6]
Ender Security Card and automation
The Ender Security Card handles ownership and automation. Shift-right-click on air to bind it to you. Shift-right-click it on a private chest to bind the chest and allow automation.[3]
The sources here do not describe how that automation works beyond this, so there is nothing more to say about pipes, hoppers or side access.[3]
Crafting
The Key, Lock, Pack and Card each have their own shaped crafting recipe in the pack. Here they are as the pack has them.[2]

How do you progress through Enderthing?
3 parts
Enderthing doesn't have a tier ladder that the sources here can show. What they do show is a set of crafted items: the Ender Security Card, Ender Key, Ender Lock and Ender Pack. Each one has its own shaped crafting recipe, and all of them are the mod's own recipes rather than pack-made ones.[2]

Unverified The sources here do not show where, or whether, the pack's quest book guides you through these items. Check the quest chapters in the pack itself for any progression order.
Private and bound items
The mod's data tags show which items can be made private and which can be made bound. The Ender Key Chest, Ender Lock, Ender Pack and Ender Key can all be made private. Only the key chest and the lock can be made bound.[5][6]
Breaking a key chest
What you get back depends on your tool. Mine a Ender Key Chest with Silk Touch and you get the chest itself, keeping its custom name, key, privacy setting and binding. Without Silk Touch you get an Ender Lock that keeps the key, privacy setting and binding, plus some Obsidian.[4]
