What is Easy Piglins?

3 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide

Easy Piglins takes the hassle out of piglin bartering. Instead of luring piglins around or capturing them, you can pick up an adult piglin as an item and let a dedicated block do the trading for you.[1]

This pack includes Easy Piglins version 1.1.7+26.1.2 for NeoForge.[2]

What it adds

  • The piglin item: sneak and right-click an adult piglin to pick it up. This only works if the piglin isn't busy or aggressive. Right-click the ground to place it again.[1]
  • The barterer block: it barters with piglins automatically, with no capturing needed. It also works in other dimensions without the piglins turning into zombified piglins.[1]

Using the barterer

Put the bartering item in the input slot, or pipe it in with a hopper. The results show up in one of the output slots, and hoppers can pull them out too. Each barter takes exactly 120 ticks, which is 6 seconds.[1]

To get a piglin back out, sneak and right-click the barterer with an empty hand. If you break the block, it keeps its contents inside.[1]

Who it's for

If you want a steady supply of piglin barter loot without babysitting a trading setup, this mod is for you. It's especially handy if you want a compact, automatable setup that works in any dimension.[1]

Unverified The sources I have don't show any quests for this mod, and they don't place it on the ATM Star path, so I can't say where it fits in the pack's progression. The sources also don't show any pack-specific changes to its values or recipes.

How do you get started with Easy Piglins?

3 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide

Easy Piglins is a small mod, so getting started is short. The whole idea is to stop fighting with piglin bartering, and the first thing to make is the Barterer. This guide covers only what the mod's project page and the pack's recipe data confirm.[1][3]

Craft the Barterer

The Barterer is the block that automates bartering with piglins, and it's the one item in this mod with a crafting recipe in this pack. It's a shaped crafting recipe, and the block below shows the exact in-pack version.[1][3]

Pick up a piglin

The mod also lets you carry an adult piglin around as an item. Sneak and right-click an adult piglin to pick it up. It only works if the piglin isn't busy or aggressive, so wait for a calm one.[1]

To set the piglin back down, right-click on the ground with the piglin item.[1]

Set up the Barterer

  1. Put the bartering item into the input slot, or pipe it in with a hopper.[1]
  2. Collect the results from the output slots, or let hoppers suck them out for you.[1]
  3. Each barter takes exactly 120 ticks, which is 6 seconds.[1]

The Barterer works in other dimensions without the piglins converting to zombified piglins, so you can put it wherever is convenient.[1]

Tip: To take a piglin back out of the Barterer, sneak and right-click the block with an empty hand. If you break the Barterer, it keeps its contents inside.[1]

How does Easy Piglins work?

4 parts

Easy Piglins is a small mod with two systems: a piglin you can carry around as an item, and the Barterer, a block that automates bartering for you.[1]

Picking up piglins

Sneak and right-click an adult piglin to pick it up as an item. It only works if the piglin is not busy or aggressive. If you try anyway, the game tells you "Can't pick up aggressive or busy piglins".[1][4]

To put the piglin back down, right-click on the ground with the piglin item.[1]

This pack sets piglin.inventory_sounds to true, so piglins make sounds while they are in your inventory.[5]

The Barterer block

The Barterer lets you barter with piglins automatically, without having to deal with capturing one yourself. You can also use it in other dimensions without the piglins turning into zombified piglins.[1]

Input and output

The Barterer screen has an area labelled Input Items and one labelled Output Items.[4]

  1. Put the bartering item in the input slot, or pipe it in with a hopper.[1]
  2. The bartered items appear in one of the output slots.[1]
  3. Take them out by hand, or let hoppers suck them out for you.[1]

One barter takes exactly 120 ticks, which is 6 seconds, according to the mod's description. Plan your hopper setups around that speed.[1]

Removing piglins and breaking the block

To take a piglin out of the Barterer, sneak and right-click the block with an empty hand.[1]

If you break the Barterer, it keeps its contents inside. The block's loot table uses a copy-block-entity function to carry that data over to the dropped item.[1][7]

How do you progress through Easy Piglins?

2 parts

Easy Piglins keeps things simple in this pack. The recipe dump for the mod lists one craftable item, the Barterer, so there is no tier ladder to climb. Everything for Easy Piglins comes down to making that one block.[6]

This is the in-pack recipe for the Barterer, a shaped crafting recipe added by the mod.

Picking it back up

When you break a placed Barterer, its loot table drops the Barterer with one roll and applies the mod's copy_block_entity function to the dropped item. In other words, the block's stored data is copied onto the item you get back.[7]

Which Easy Piglins config options matter?

Easy Piglins has very little to configure in this pack. The one option the sources show is in the server config file, and it only affects the piglin item you carry around.[1][5]

piglin.inventory_sounds controls whether piglins make sounds while they are in your inventory. This pack sets it to true, so a piglin you have picked up can still make noise from your inventory.[5]

Tip: If the noise bothers you, set that option to false in the server config file. This works the same on a server or in single player, because the option lives in the server config.[5]

What changed in Easy Piglins between versions?

1 part

There isn't much history to cover for Easy Piglins in this pack. FTB Evolution 2 1.1.0 ships with Easy Piglins 1.1.7+26.1.2, and the mod has been in the pack since FTB Evolution 2 1.0.2 or earlier.[8]

Mod changelog

  • 1.1.7+26.1.2: added support for 26.1.2. This is the only change listed in the mod's own changelog for the version the pack uses.[8][9]

Unverified The sources here show no pack changelog entries for Easy Piglins, so any changes to it between pack releases are not confirmed. The pack's own changelogs are where those would be listed.
