What is BBL Dimensional Resources?
3 parts
BBL Dimensional Resources lets you fire a laser at distant planets and mine resources from them. This pack includes version 1.0.10 of the mod.[1][2]
How it works
It starts underground. Dimensional Ore generates very low in the world, between -16 and -64. Mining it gives you Dimensional Shards, which the mod calls a core ingredient.[1][3]
Next you craft a Spyglass and a Planet Locator. Hold the Planet Locator in your offhand and look into the sky through the Spyglass to find planets. Once you discover a planet, the Planet Locator is set to that planet.[1][3]
The Interdimensional Laser
The Interdimensional Laser is what actually mines blocks from other planets. You place it on a structure built from Dimensional Stone and Dimensional Stone Bricks, and it needs a Planet Locator inside its GUI so it knows which planet to mine from.[4]
Planets have levels from 1 to 12, and some need a higher level of the Laser multiblock. For each level, the multiblock needs to be one block taller.[4]
Where it sits in the quest book
Unverified The sources here do not show a quest book chapter or group for this mod, and they do not show the ATM Star path using it. Treat it as something you explore through the in-game guide books instead.
How do you get started with BBL Dimensional Resources?
5 parts
BBL Dimensional Resources lets you find planets in the sky and then mine resources from them with a laser. The first steps are short, and the order below is the one the mod's own guide book follows.[1][3]
First, dig for Dimensional Ore
Head deep underground first. Dimensional Ore generates very low in the world, between -16 and -64. Mining it gives you Dimensional Shards. There is also a Deepslate Dimensional Ore.[1][3][5]
Next, make a Spyglass and a Planet Locator
Next you need a Spyglass and a Planet Locator. The locator is what tells everything else which planet you are interested in, so it comes before the laser.[3][4]

The pack changed this recipe, so follow the one shown here and not the mod's default.
Then discover a planet
Hold the Planet Locator in your offhand, then look up at the sky through the Spyglass. When you spot a planet, the locator is set to that planet. You will need that locator again at the laser.[1][3]
Build the laser structure
The Interdimensional Laser has to be placed on a structure built from Dimensional Stone and Dimensional Stone Bricks. The recipes for both are below, and you want them before the laser itself.[4]

Finally, craft and set up the Interdimensional Laser

The laser is what mines blocks from other planets. Place it on your Dimensional Stone and Dimensional Stone Bricks structure, then put your Planet Locator in its GUI. Without a locator in there, the laser does not know which planet to mine from.[4]
How does BBL Dimensional Resources work?
5 parts
BBL Dimensional Resources has one main machine, the Interdimensional Laser. You point it at a planet you have discovered and it mines blocks from that planet. The sources for this pack explain the setup, the planet discovery and the ore you need, so that is what this section covers.[1][3][4]
Building the Laser multiblock
The Interdimensional Laser has to be placed on a structure made of Dimensional Stone and Dimensional Stone Bricks. The in-game guide shows an example build, so check it for the exact layout.[4]
The Laser also needs a Planet Locator inside its GUI. That is how it knows which planet to mine from.[4]
Planet levels and multiblock height
Some planets need a higher level of the Laser multiblock. Planet levels range from 1 to 12, and for each level the multiblock has to be one block taller. The mod also has a tooltip that shows a minimum laser level.[4][5]
Finding a planet
Craft a Spyglass and a Planet Locator. Hold the Planet Locator in your offhand and look into the sky through the Spyglass to find planets. When you discover one, you get a "Discovered Planet" chat message and the Planet Locator is set to that planet.[3][5]
- Craft a Spyglass and a Planet Locator.[3]
- Hold the Planet Locator in your offhand.[3]
- Look into the sky through the Spyglass until you discover a planet.[3]
- Put the set Planet Locator into the Laser's GUI.[3][4]
Dimensional Ore and Shards
Dimensional Shards are a core ingredient for the mod. You get them from Dimensional Ore, which generates very low in the world between -16 and -64. There is also a deepslate version, and the world generation uses a vein size of 4 with a placement count of 4 across the overworld biomes.[3][5][7][8][9]
Mining either ore drops a random number of Dimensional Shard, and Fortune can increase that amount. With Silk Touch you get the ore block itself instead.[10][11]
Crafting the key pieces
The pack changed the recipes for the Laser, the Planet Locator and Dimensional Stone. Use the recipes below rather than anything you remember from the mod's defaults.[6]

How do you progress through BBL Dimensional Resources?
4 parts
This mod has no named tiers in the sources here. Your progression is a short chain: mine Dimensional Ore, craft a Planet Locator, find a planet, then build a Laser multiblock tall enough for that planet. The real tiers are the planet levels, which run from 1 to 12.[3][4]
First: Dimensional Shards
Everything starts with Dimensional Ore, which generates very low in the world, between -16 and -64. Mining it gives you Dimensional Shard, which the guide book calls a core ingredient for the mod.[3][11]
Fortune adds a bonus to the shard drop. Silk Touch drops the ore block itself instead. The deepslate version, Deepslate Dimensional Ore, follows the same drop rules.[10][11]
Next: find a planet
Next you craft a Spyglass and a Planet Locator. Hold the Planet Locator in your offhand and look into the sky through the Spyglass. When you discover a planet, the locator is set to it.[3]
Crafting Shaped

| Dimensional Shard Gem | Compass | Dimensional Shard Gem |
| Empty slot | Dimensional Shard Gem | Empty slot |
Recipe id: dimresources:planet_locator
The pack changed this recipe, so craft it exactly as shown here, not from the mod's defaults.
Then: build the Laser
The Interdimensional Laser mines blocks from other planets. You place it on a structure built from Dimensional Stone and Dimensional Stone Bricks.[4]

| any stone | any stone | any stone |
Recipe id: dimresources:dimensional_stone
The pack also changed the Dimensional Stone recipe.
Tiers: planet levels
Some planets need a higher level of the Laser multiblock. Planet levels range from 1 to 12, and for each level the multiblock needs to be one block taller. So the higher the level of the planet you want to mine, the taller your Dimensional Stone structure must be.[4]
Unverified How often Dimensional Ore generates in this pack is not shown in the sources here. Ore generation is set in the mod's worldgen data files, and their contents are not included.
What changed in BBL Dimensional Resources between versions?
1 part
The pack ships BBL Dimensional Resources at version 1.0.10 in FTB Evolution 2 1.1.0. The mod was already in the pack in FTB Evolution 2 1.0.2 or earlier, so it has been there since the early releases.[2]
1.0.10 (the version in this pack)
- Rendering on the client when playing on a server is now fully fixed.[12]
- Fixed an additional crash that could sometimes happen during data syncing or reloading.[12]
If you play on a server, these are the fixes that matter most to you, since they cover client rendering and data sync or reload crashes.[12]
Unverified The sources here include no pack changelog entries for this mod, so which pack release moved it to each mod version is not shown. Only the 1.0.10 changelog and the version in 1.1.0 are confirmed.
