What is Architectural Building Wand?
3 parts
Architectural Building Wand is a building tool for survival. You use a simple drag and drop mechanic: select points and the wand places blocks, builds walls and fills areas for you, so you skip the tedious manual placement. You can build and erase this way, and it can make rectangles, cylinders and triangles.[1]
This pack ships version 1.2.1 of the mod. It has been in the pack since FTB Evolution 2 1.0.2 or earlier.[2]
The two wands
- The Redstone Wand is the starter wand, meant for early game progression. It supports Unbreaking, Mending and Silk Touch.[1]
- The Arcane Wand is the advanced one. It runs on Mana instead of durability and only supports Silk Touch.[1]
- The Arcane Well is the station you use to recharge your Arcane Wand's Mana.[1]
Planner mode and the Planner Totem
The Planner Totem creates a zone where you can fly and plan builds with ghost blocks. Everything you do inside is purely visual and does not touch your survival world. As soon as you leave the Totem's range, you lose flight and the ghost building features.[1]
The Totem has no crafting recipe. A server OP gets and places it through the Planner menu, which opens with the V key. Only one Totem can be active in the world, and it can be upgraded to expand its area. On multiplayer servers you need OP privileges to place and activate it.[1]

How do you get started with Architectural Building Wand?
5 parts
Architectural Building Wand gives you drag-and-drop building: pick points, and the wand fills in rectangles, cylinders and triangles for you. The mod has two wands, and the order you make them in is simple: start with the Redstone one, then move up to the Arcane one.[1]
First: the Redstone Architect's Wand
The Redstone Architect's Wand is the starter wand, meant for early game progression. It works off normal item durability, and it supports Unbreaking, Mending and Silk Touch, so you can enchant it like a regular tool.[1][3]

Next: the Arcane Well
The Arcane Well is a magical station that recharges the Arcane wand's Mana. Make it before the advanced wand, so you have somewhere to refill it.[1][3]

Last: the Arcane Architect's Wand
The Arcane Architect's Wand is the advanced wand. Instead of durability it runs on Mana, which you top up at the Arcane Well. It only supports Silk Touch as an enchantment, so don't plan on Mending or Unbreaking for this one.[1][3]

Controls to learn first
- V opens the wand templates, B toggles Planner mode, X switches to the Surface/Wall template and R toggles the Eraser. The wand tooltip shows this same hint.[3]
- Shift + Scroll rotates the block you are holding.[1]
- While building, scroll to change the wall or shape axis before you release the click to confirm the build.[1]
- You can see and rebind every shortcut under Options, Controls, Key Bindings.[1]
About the Planner Totem
The Planner Totem creates a zone where you can fly and plan builds with ghost blocks. Everything inside is purely visual and does not affect your survival world. It has no crafting recipe: a server OP gets and places it through the Planner menu, opened with V.[1]
How does Architectural Building Wand work?
5 parts
The mod's project page describes Architectural Building Wand as a drag-and-drop building tool. You select points, and the wand places or erases blocks for you instead of you doing it one block at a time. It is built around two wands, a charging station and a planning totem, and this section covers how they fit together.[1]
The two wands
According to the mod's project page, the Redstone Architect's Wand is the starter wand, meant for early game progression. It supports Unbreaking, Mending and Silk Touch enchantments.[1][3]
The project page describes the Arcane Architect's Wand as the advanced wand. It operates on Mana, and the only enchantment it supports is Silk Touch.[1][3]

Recharging with the Arcane Well
The Arcane Well (shown in game as the Arcane Well) is, according to the project page, the station you use to recharge your Arcane Wand's Mana. Its in-game tooltip describes it as a mystical well that charges magical wands. When you break it, it drops itself as an item.[1][3][5]

The project page lists a fix for the Arcane Well not working properly on multiplayer servers.[1]
Shapes and build modes
You can build rectangles, cylinders and triangles. The wand tooltips name these modes: Box Fill, Box Hollow, Box Walls, Circle Fill, Circle Hollow, Triangle Fill and Triangle Hollow.[1][3]
The project page says that while you are building, scrolling changes the wall or shape axis. Do this before you release your click to confirm the build. Holding Shift and scrolling rotates the block you are holding.[1]
Controls
The wand tooltip gives you a quick hint of the main keys.[3]
- V opens the wand templates (the keybind is named Wand Templates).[3]
- B toggles Planner Mode.[3]
- X opens the Surface / Wall template.[3]
- R toggles Eraser Mode, which the project page says lets you build and erase with the same drag-and-drop method.[1][3]
You can see and change every shortcut under Options, Controls, Key Bindings, in the category named after the mod. There is also a keybind called Setup Planner Zone.[1][3]
Planner Mode and the Planner Totem
The Planner Totem creates a zone where you can fly safely and plan builds with ghost blocks. Everything you do inside that zone is purely visual and does not change your survival world. As soon as you leave the Totem's range, you lose the flight ability and the ghost building features. Its in-game tooltip says it is bound to the wand to project blueprints in the world.[1][3]
- Only one Totem can be active in the world at a time.[1]
- The Totem can be upgraded to expand its area.[1]
- The project page says that on multiplayer servers you need OP privileges to place and activate it.[1]
- The project page says it has no crafting recipe: a server OP obtains and places it through the Planner menu, opened with V.[1]
- When you break the placed Totem, it drops itself as an item.[6]
Unverified The exact Mana costs, wand durability costs, Mana recharge rates and Totem area sizes are not shown in the sources here, and there are no config files for this mod in the pack to check them against.

What changed in Architectural Building Wand between versions?
1 part
FTB Evolution 2 1.1.0 ships Architectural Building Wand version 1.2.1. The mod was already in the pack by FTB Evolution 2 1.0.2 or earlier, so you are not looking at a fresh addition in this release.[2]
Version 1.2.1 (the version in this pack)
- Arcane Well server fix: the mod's changelog says the Arcane Well was not functioning properly on multiplayer servers, and this release fixes it.[7]
- Loader version compatibility: the same changelog says this release fixes compatibility issues with newer loader versions that were previously unsupported.[7]
Unverified The sources here do not include any pack changelog entries for this mod, so which pack release changed what for Architectural Building Wand is not shown. The pack's own release notes are where that would be listed.
