What is Ancient Remnants?
Ancient Remnants is part of the pack, which ships version 1.0.2.2-26.1.2 of the mod. It has been in the pack since version 1.0.2 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]
Unverified The sources here do not describe what the mod adds, and they do not show where the pack's quest book places it (chapter, group, or neighbouring quests) or whether the ATM Star path uses it. Don't assume any quest guides you through this mod.
How does Ancient Remnants work?
4 parts
Ancient Remnants is about ruins you find out in the world, and the material available for it in this pack describes only how those structures generate. Each structure is a jigsaw structure placed at the surface, so what follows is how and where they show up.[2][3]
How often structures appear
Every structure has its own placement set using random spread, with a spacing and a separation value. Spacing is the grid size used to place them, and separation is the minimum gap. Here is how they compare in this pack.[2][4]
- Simple hand: spacing 80, separation 40. This is the most frequent one.[2]
- Small, medium and large pillars, and the collapsing pillar: spacing 120, separation 100.[4][5][6][7]
- Large bridge: spacing 140, separation 100.[8]
- Both aquaducts (aquaduct1 and aquaduct_older): spacing 200, separation 100.[9][10]
- Every ocean variant (simple hand, small, medium and large pillars, collapsing pillar, large bridge): spacing 200, separation 60.[11][12][13][14][15][16]
Where they spawn
Each structure points at a biome tag. The simple hand, small pillar, aquaduct1 and aquaduct_older tags cover forest biomes and also list plains as an optional entry. The medium pillar reuses the small pillar's tag, so it spawns in the same biomes.[17][18][19][20][21]
The collapsing pillar tag covers forest and jungle biomes. The large pillar and the large bridge use that same tag, so they spawn in forests and jungles too.[22][23][24][25]
All the ocean variants share one tag, which covers ocean biomes in general plus the plain ocean and the deep cold ocean. If you want the underwater versions, search there.[26][27][28][29][30][31][32]
How they sit on the terrain
All of these generate in the surface structures step. Land versions are projected onto the world surface heightmap, and ocean versions onto the ocean floor, so the underwater ruins stand on the seabed.[3][31][32][33]
Most structures start 4 blocks below their projected height. The large pillar and its ocean version start 3 blocks below instead.[25][29][33]
Most structures blend into the surrounding terrain with a thin beard. The two aquaducts and the land large bridge use no terrain adaptation, so they do not reshape the ground around them.[3][24][33][34][35]
Size of the structures
Most structures have a jigsaw size of 2 and reach at most 80 blocks from their center. The large bridge and large bridge ocean are the big ones, with a size of 7 and a reach of 110 blocks.[3][24][28][33]
The aquaducts show how a jigsaw build is put together. Aquaduct1 starts from a pool holding the aquaduct1 piece and continues with a middle pool holding the aquaduct2 piece. Aquaduct_older works the same way with its own older pieces.[36][37][38][39]
Unverified The full piece lists of several structure template pools (the collapsing pillar, the ocean collapsing pillar and the large bridge ocean among them) are in data files that the sources here do not show, so what those structures contain is not confirmed in this guide.
How do you progress through Ancient Remnants?
3 parts
Ancient Remnants has no tier ladder to climb in this pack. What the sources show is a set of world generation structures you find by exploring, so this section covers where they can appear and how common they are.[2][4]
Unverified The sources here show no quest chapter and no in-pack recipes for this mod, so there is no quest-by-quest or recipe-by-recipe progression to describe. Any quest or crafting detail would live in the pack's quest book and recipe data, and the sources here do not show it.
How often structures appear
Every structure uses random spread placement, but each has its own spacing and separation numbers. The simple hand is the most frequent: its spacing is 80 and its separation is 40. It is tagged for plains and forest biomes.[2][20]
- Small, medium and large pillars, plus the collapsing pillar, all use spacing 120 and separation 100.[4][5][6][7]
- The large bridge uses spacing 140 and separation 100.[8]
- The two aquaduct structures use spacing 200 and separation 100.[9][10]
Biomes
- The small pillar and both aquaduct structures are tagged for plains and forest biomes.[17][18][19]
- The collapsing pillar is tagged for forest and jungle biomes.[22]
- An ocean structure biome tag lists ocean biomes, including the plain ocean and the deep cold ocean.[26]
Ocean variants
Many structures have an ocean version: the small, medium and large pillars, the collapsing pillar, the simple hand and the large bridge. All of these use spacing 200 and separation 60, so they spread out further than their land versions.[11][12][13][14][15][16]

We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as ancient_remnants, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
