What is Roof Compat for TFC/Macaw?
Roof Compat for TFC/Macaw is part of the pack. The pack ships version 1.1-1.18.2-40.1.73 of it, in the file mcw_tfc_roof-1.1-1.18.2-40.1.73.jar. It was first included in this pack's version or an earlier one.[1]
Unverified The available sources don't describe what the mod adds, who it is aimed at, or where it fits in the pack's progression. That means I can't confirm its blocks, recipes or mechanics, and I can't say whether it connects to the ATM Star path or to any quests. Check the mod in-game before relying on any of those.
How do you get started with Roof Compat for TFC/Macaw?
1 part
This mod adds roof blocks in TFC rock and wood materials. Every roof in the recipe data is a normal crafting table recipe, so you don't need a machine or a special station to start.[2]
The recipes split by material type. The stone roofs I checked (andesite, basalt, chalk and chert) use the mod's own recipes. The wood roofs I checked (ash, aspen, blackwood and chestnut) use recipes the pack has changed. If you've seen a different recipe for a wooden roof elsewhere, trust the one shown here.[2]
Your first steps
- Pick a material for your build. Stone and wood roofs share the same shape names, so choose whichever suits the look you want.[2]
- Craft a basic roof block to test it on your build, for example Andesite Roof in stone or Ash Roof in wood.[2]
- Add the other shapes as you need them: Andesite Lower Roof, Andesite Steep Roof, Andesite Upper Lower Roof, Andesite Upper Steep Roof, Andesite Top Roof and Andesite Attic Roof. The other materials use matching names.[2]
Here is the basic stone roof. This is the mod's own recipe, unchanged by the pack.[2]

And here is the basic wood roof. The pack changed this recipe, so it differs from the mod's default.[2]

Unverified The sources here show no quest and no guidebook entry for this mod, so the pack's quest book does not tell you where roofs fit. The steps above come from the recipes alone.
How does Roof Compat for TFC/Macaw work?
2 parts
This one is simpler than most mods in the pack. In the sources I have, Roof Compat for TFC/Macaw only shows up as crafting recipes for roof blocks. Nothing documents machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or automation for it, so I won't make any up.[2]
Roof shapes
Each material comes in the same set of shapes: Andesite Roof is the base roof, and the others are the attic, lower, steep, top, upper lower and upper steep versions. For example, there are Andesite Attic Roof, Andesite Lower Roof, Andesite Steep Roof, Andesite Top Roof, Andesite Upper Lower Roof and Andesite Upper Steep Roof. The recipe dump shows this pattern for andesite, ash, aspen and basalt, and the list is cut off after that.[2]
Crafting
Every roof I can see is a shaped crafting recipe done in a normal crafting grid. The recipes depend on the material. Stone roofs such as andesite and basalt use the mod's own recipes. Wood roofs such as ash and aspen have been changed by the pack, so don't rely on the mod's defaults for those.[2]
Within each material, the attic roof differs from the other shapes by one ingredient. Here is a stone example and then its attic variant.[2]

The pack-changed wood roofs follow the same idea, with their own ingredient set that is different from the stone ones. Here are the ash base roof and ash attic roof.[2]

How do you progress through Roof Compat for TFC/Macaw?
3 parts
This mod has no tier ladder to climb. It adds decorative roof blocks, and the only thing that changes how you get them is the material family. In the recipes shown, that means stone roofs and wooden roofs.[2]
Unverified The sources here show no quest chapter for this mod, so there is no quest-driven order to follow. Any quest detail would live in the pack's quest book, and it is not shown here.
Stone roofs
Stone roofs such as Andesite Roof use the mod's own recipes, which the pack has not changed. The visible rock sets are andesite, basalt, chalk, chert, claystone, conglomerate and dacite. Each is made from TFC mortar and the matching TFC rock bricks, plus a wooden rod or glass depending on the shape.[2]

The standard stone roof recipe, using the mod's own recipe unchanged. Other rock types follow the same pattern with their own bricks.
Wooden roofs
Wooden roofs such as Ash Roof are marked as changed by the pack, so they are not the mod's defaults. The visible wood sets are ash, aspen, blackwood and chestnut. Each is made from the matching TFC log, a wooden rod or glass depending on the shape, and slimeballs, not mortar and bricks.[2]

Roof shapes
The material decides the recipe, and the shape is a variant of it. The andesite set shows every shape: Andesite Roof, Andesite Lower Roof, Andesite Steep Roof, Andesite Top Roof, Andesite Upper Lower Roof, Andesite Upper Steep Roof and Andesite Attic Roof.[2]
The attic shape is the odd one out. It takes glass where the other shapes take a wooden rod. This holds for both the stone and the wooden recipes shown.[2]

How does Roof Compat for TFC/Macaw work with other mods?
2 parts
Roof Compat for TFC/Macaw is built around TerraFirmaCraft materials. The in-pack recipes tie each roof to TFC stone or wood items, plus a few shared item tags that accept items from other mods.[2]
Stone roofs and TFC bricks
The stone roofs, like Andesite Roof and Basalt Roof, are crafted from the matching TFC rock bricks, for example Andesite Bricks. The recipes also use Mortar. These are the mod's own recipes, and the pack has not changed them. Here is one so you can see the exact in-pack version.[2]

Wooden roofs and TFC logs
The wooden roofs use TFC logs, such as Ash Log for Ash Roof. The pack has changed these recipes. The wood types the sources confirm are ash, aspen, blackwood and chestnut. They all use any item from the slimeball tag, and the attic roofs take any item from the glass tag while the other shapes take any item from the wooden rod tag.[2]

Unverified The sources here show no quests that involve this mod, so I can't say whether any quest chapter touches its roofs. Check the pack's quest book if you want to be sure.
