What is Bigger Reactors?
Bigger Reactors is part of the pack, and the pack ships a 0.6.0 beta build of it for Minecraft 1.18.2. It's a long-standing member of the mod list: it was already included by pack version 1.1 or earlier.[1]
Unverified The sources here only confirm which build the pack uses and when the mod joined. They do not describe what the mod does, since no platform description or in-jar guidebook was available. They also show no quest involving the mod and no place for it on the ATM Star path, so I can't place it in the quest book. Check in-game before you plan a build around it.
How do you get started with Bigger Reactors?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods - Gravitas 4.0 guide
Bigger Reactors in this pack covers the reactor, the turbine and the heat exchanger, and almost every reactor part starts from the Reactor Casing. Many of the recipes were changed by the pack, so don't trust what you remember from other modpacks. Use the recipe blocks here or JEI.[2]
First: get Graphite Ingots
Graphite ingots come first, because the Reactor Casing and Reactor Fuel Rod recipes both need them. The smelting recipes below all end in a graphite ingot, and the pack changed the one that starts from Graphite Dust.[2]
This is the mod's own smelting recipe.

Next: the Reactor Casing
The pack changed the casing recipe. Once you have it, you'll be crafting a lot of other reactor parts from it.[2]

Then: Fuel Rods and Control Rods
The Reactor Fuel Rod has a pack-changed recipe. The Reactor Control Rod uses the mod's recipe and is crafted from a casing. The control rod screen tells you that inserting a rod reduces the reaction rate and retracting it increases the rate, so the control rod is your throttle.[2][3]

Controls and connections
The Reactor Terminal is your control screen, and the pack changed its recipe. From its screen you can turn the reactor on or off and choose whether waste is ejected automatically. The Reactor Power Tap is also crafted from a casing, using the mod's recipe.[2][3]

Cyanite and the Reprocessor
The Cyanite Reprocessor has a pack-changed recipe. Cyanite Dust and Cyanite Ingot come from the recipes shown after it. You'll meet Cyanite again when you move on to the turbine, because the pack-changed turbine recipes use it.[2]

How does Bigger Reactors work?
7 parts
Same as in the All the Mods - Gravitas 4.0 guide
Bigger Reactors has a reactor, a turbine and a heat exchanger, all built as multiblocks, plus a standalone Cyanite Reprocessor machine. The multiblocks are run from terminal and port screens, and the tooltips on those screens explain most of the mechanics. Here is how they fit together in this pack.[3][4]
Multiblock size limits
The pack leaves every size limit at the mod default, so you can build very large structures before the game refuses to form them.[4]
- Reactor: up to 128 long, 128 wide and 192 tall (Reactor.MaxLength, Reactor.MaxWidth, Reactor.MaxHeight).[4]
- Turbine: up to 32 long, 32 wide and 192 tall (Turbine.MaxLength, Turbine.MaxWidth, Turbine.MaxHeight).[4]
- Heat exchanger: up to 64 long, 64 wide and 96 tall (HeatExchanger.MaxLength, HeatExchanger.MaxWidth, HeatExchanger.MaxHeight).[4]
The reactor
The reactor terminal is your control panel. You can switch the reactor on or off, and set whether waste is ejected automatically. Gauges show case heat, fuel heat, the fuel-to-waste mix, fuel usage rate and reactivity rate. They also show RF generation, exhaust generation, the internal RF battery, and the coolant intake and exhaust tanks.[3]
The reactor heat gauge scale (Reactor.GUI.HeatDisplayMax) is 2,000, and the output and fuel usage multipliers (Reactor.OutputMultiplier, Reactor.FuelUsageMultiplier) are both 1. These are all mod defaults, so the pack does not rebalance reactor output or fuel burn.[4]
Reaction rate is controlled with Reactor Control Rod blocks. Inserting a rod reduces the reaction rate and retracting it increases the rate. The rod screen has modifier keys for fast adjustment:[2][3]
- Shift moves the rod by 10%.[3]
- Ctrl moves it by 50%.[3]
- Ctrl + Shift goes to maximum insertion or retraction.[3]
- Alt applies the change to all rods.[3]
The Reactor Access Port handles waste. Its screen can toggle the port direction, toggle what it outputs, and eject all waste manually. The Reactor Coolant Port handles fluids: you can toggle its direction or dump everything in the reactor tanks by hand. The JEI categories for reactor moderator blocks and moderator fluids show each one's heat conductivity.[2][3]
The pack changed the recipes for the casing, the fuel rod and the coolant port, so check these rather than relying on memory of the mod's defaults.[2]

Automating the reactor with redstone
The reactor redstone port can both read the reactor and control it. Its screen has separate inputs and outputs:[3]
- Control rod insertion (input): on a pulse it moves the rods depending on the current mode, and on a signal it sets the insertion level depending on whether redstone is applied. The modes are A (insert by), B (retract by) and C (set to).[3]
- Eject waste (input): a pulse ejects all waste from the reactor. A steady signal does nothing.[3]
- Reactor status (input): a pulse toggles the reactor on or off, while a signal keeps it active only while redstone is applied.[3]
- Outputs: casing temperature, fuel temperature, fuel amount, fuel enrichment, output stored and waste amount. Each one emits a signal while the value is above or below the threshold you set.[3]
The turbine
The turbine takes hot intake fluid and turns it into RF. Its terminal lets you switch the turbine on or off, toggle exhaust venting, and toggle coil engagement. With the coil engaged, rotor speed is converted into electricity. Gauges show the intake tank, the cold exhaust tank, the internal battery, RF generation, rotor efficiency and the tachometer. Fluid ports have a direction toggle.[3]
The flow rate governor sets how fast the turbine processes fluid. Higher flow rates raise rotor speed and lower rates reduce it. The tachometer tooltip says rotors perform best at 900 or 1,800 RPM, and rotor efficiency drops if the flow rate is over the rotor capacity.[3]
The flow rate buttons step in mB, and the tooltips list separate steps for Shift, Ctrl and Ctrl + Shift. The config has step sizes that are all left at defaults: Turbine.GUI.DeltaMB is 10, Turbine.GUI.DeltaMBShift is 100, Turbine.GUI.DeltaMBCtrl is 500 and Turbine.GUI.DeltaMBHCtrlShift is 1,000.[3][4]
The heat exchanger
The heat exchanger works with evaporator channels and condenser channels. The evaporator channels take in cold fluid and output hot fluid. The condenser channels take in hot fluid and output cold fluid. The Heat Exchanger Terminal shows an intake tank, an exhaust tank, a flow rate and a temperature for each channel type, plus the overall exchanger temperature. The heat gauge scale (HeatExchanger.gui.HeatDisplayMax) is 2,000.[2][3][4]
The Heat Exchanger Fluid Port has a direction toggle and a button that manually dumps all fluids in the connected channel. The pack changed the recipes for the casing, fluid port, terminal and evaporator channel. The condenser and evaporator channels can also be converted into each other by crafting.[2][3]

Cyanite Reprocessor
The Cyanite Reprocessor is a standalone machine that needs both power and water. Its config values are all mod defaults:[2][4]
- A job takes 200 ticks (CyaniteReprocessor.TotalWorkTime).[4]
- It uses 1 energy and 1 water per tick of work (CyaniteReprocessor.EnergyConsumptionPerTick, CyaniteReprocessor.WaterConsumptionPerTick).[4]
- The energy tank and water tank each hold 5,000 (CyaniteReprocessor.EnergyTankCapacity, CyaniteReprocessor.WaterTankCapacity).[4]
- Fluids and energy transfer at up to 500 per tick (CyaniteReprocessor.TransferRate).[4]
The pack changed the machine's recipe.[2]

Uranium in this pack
The pack turns off the mod's own uranium ore generation (WorldGen.EnableUraniumGeneration is false, while the mod default is true). The reactor casing and fuel rod recipes both ask for uranium ingots, so keep that in mind before you plan a reactor.[2][4]
How do you progress through Bigger Reactors?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods - Gravitas 4.0 guide
The pack's recipes give Bigger Reactors a clear material ladder: graphite, then cyanite, then blutonium, then ludicrite. The pack changed many of the mod's recipes, and I flag each change as we go.[2]
Graphite and the basic reactor
Everything starts with Graphite Ingot. The pack changed how you get it: graphite dust can be smelted into an ingot, and a graphite block can be crafted back into an ingot. The mod's coal-and-charcoal smelting route is still in the pack as well.[2]
Smelting

Recipe id: biggerreactors:smelting/graphite_dust

The Reactor Casing and the Reactor Fuel Rod both have pack-changed recipes, and both use graphite. The other reactor parts are built on the casing.[2]

Pack-changed reactor parts include the Reactor Coolant Port, Reactor Coolant Manifold, Reactor Redstone Port and Reactor Terminal. The Reactor Access Port, Reactor Control Rod, Reactor Glass and Reactor Power Tap keep the mod's recipes.[2]
Cyanite, the reprocessor and turbines
Cyanite Ingot is the next step. You craft Cyanite Dust from uranium dust, then smelt the dust into an ingot. Cyanite ingots can be made into cyanite blocks, and a block can be crafted back into ingots.[2]

Cyanite also gates the turbine. The pack changed the Turbine Casing, Turbine Rotor Shaft and Turbine Rotor Blade recipes, and each of them uses cyanite ingots. The Turbine Rotor Bearing and Turbine Fluid Port are also pack-changed. The Turbine Glass and Turbine Power Tap keep the mod's recipes.[2]

Blutonium
Blutonium Ingot comes after cyanite on the ladder, and it also exists as Blutonium Dust and Blutonium Block. You need the ingot for the pack-changed Turbine Terminal, so the turbine's terminal sits behind this material. The ingot recipes are shown below.[2]

Ludicrite
Ludicrite Ingot is the top material in the ladder, and it also exists as Ludicrite Dust and Ludicrite Block. The pack changed both recipes that make a ludicrite block and added blutonium to each. One route is built around a nether star and the other around an enderium block, so you can pick whichever you can supply.[2]

Which Bigger Reactors config options matter?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods - Gravitas 4.0 guide
Most Bigger Reactors values in this pack match the mod's defaults. Only one value in the common config is marked as changed by the pack, and it controls uranium ore generation. The settings below all live in config/biggerreactors-common.toml.[4]
The one change: no uranium ore generation
WorldGen.EnableUraniumGeneration is set to false in this pack. The mod default is true. That means you shouldn't count on finding Bigger Reactors uranium ore while exploring.[4]
The other uranium worldgen options are still at their mod defaults: WorldGen.UraniumOreMaxClustersPerChunk is 5, WorldGen.UraniumMaxOrePerCluster is 6, and WorldGen.UraniumOreMaxSpawnY is 50.[4]
Power and fuel multipliers
- Reactor.OutputMultiplier is 1, the mod default, so reactor output is not boosted or nerfed.[4]
- Reactor.FuelUsageMultiplier is 1, the mod default, so fuel burns at the normal rate.[4]
Maximum multiblock sizes
All size limits are unchanged from the mod defaults. Here is how big you can build.[4]
- Reactor: Reactor.MaxLength and Reactor.MaxWidth are 128 each, and Reactor.MaxHeight is 192.[4]
- Turbine: Turbine.MaxLength and Turbine.MaxWidth are 32 each, and Turbine.MaxHeight is 192.[4]
- Heat exchanger: HeatExchanger.MaxLength and HeatExchanger.MaxWidth are 64 each, and HeatExchanger.MaxHeight is 96.[4]
Cyanite Reprocessor
The reprocessor is also at its defaults. A job takes 200 ticks (CyaniteReprocessor.TotalWorkTime), using 1 energy per tick (CyaniteReprocessor.EnergyConsumptionPerTick) and 1 water per tick (CyaniteReprocessor.WaterConsumptionPerTick). The energy tank (CyaniteReprocessor.EnergyTankCapacity) and water tank (CyaniteReprocessor.WaterTankCapacity) each hold 5,000, and the max transfer rate of fluids and energy (CyaniteReprocessor.TransferRate) is 500.[4]
GUI settings
The heat display maximum is 2,000 for both the reactor (Reactor.GUI.HeatDisplayMax) and the heat exchanger (HeatExchanger.gui.HeatDisplayMax). The turbine GUI step sizes are 10 (Turbine.GUI.DeltaMB), 100 with Shift (Turbine.GUI.DeltaMBShift), 500 with Ctrl (Turbine.GUI.DeltaMBCtrl), and 1,000 with Ctrl and Shift (Turbine.GUI.DeltaMBHCtrlShift). All of these match the mod defaults.[4]
