What is Underground Villages Mod?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.12 guide
This pack ships with Underground Villages Mod, version 4.0.0, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21. It has been in the pack since version 0.42 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the mod list rather than a recent addition.[1]
Unverified I couldn't confirm what the mod adds in this pack. No description, in-game guidebook or platform page was available for it, so I won't guess at its features, structures or loot. Check it in-game before relying on any details.
Unverified I found nothing placing this mod in the pack's progression. No quests involving it were found, and it isn't on the ATM Star path, so treat it as an optional extra rather than something you need to progress.
How do you get started with Underground Villages Mod?
Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide
Underground Villages is a world-generation mod, so there's nothing to craft before you start. The first step is to go and find a village below the surface.[2]
The mod has a Y level setting, called yLevel in its configuration. Its in-game description says it's the Y level the mod will try to generate villages at. If you're hunting for a village, that's the height to explore.[2]
Unverified Nothing else about starting out with this mod could be confirmed for this pack. There are no known quests that involve it, no known recipes that produce its items, and no default yLevel value or village structure details to share. That means there's no verified list of first items to craft, so check the mod's config file in your instance for the actual yLevel value.
How does Underground Villages Mod work?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.2 guide
The sources for this mod show world generation data only, so this section covers how the underground village structure is placed and what fills it.[3][4]
Where and how often villages spawn
The underground village can generate in these biomes: desert, plains, meadow, savanna, snowy plains and taiga.[5]
Placement uses a random spread with a spacing of 32 and a separation of 7. The structure set contains just one entry, the underground village, with a weight of 1.[6]
The village itself is a jigsaw structure. It starts from the town centers pool, has a size of 6 and stays within 80 of its center. It generates in the underground decoration step, and its terrain adaptation is beard_thin.[4]
What fills the village
Decorations come from a weighted pool. A lamp piece has a weight of 2, and a placed oak tree, a plains flower patch and a hay pile each have a weight of 1. An empty option with a weight of 2 means some spots stay bare.[7]
There is also a separate tree pool, and it only contains the oak.[8]
Animal pens are picked from another pool. Cows and pigs are the most common, each with a weight of 7. The horse variants (horses_1 to horses_5) and the sheep variants (sheep_1 and sheep_2) each have a weight of 1, and an empty option has a weight of 5.[9]
Butchers get their own animal pool: cows and pigs at a weight of 3 each, and the sheep variants sheep_1 and sheep_2 at a weight of 1 each.[10]
Cats come from a pool of coat variants, each with a weight of 1, plus an empty option with a weight of 3. An iron golem piece and a well bottom piece each sit in a pool of their own with a single entry at a weight of 1.[11][12][13]
Street terminators and the street_cave processor
The terminators pool holds the pieces terminator_01 to terminator_04, each with a weight of 1. All of them run the street_cave processor.[14]
That processor rewrites blocks as the pieces are placed. Calcite where water already exists becomes oak planks. Other calcite has a 0.1 probability of becoming a non-snowy grass block. Grass blocks and dirt that sit where water already exists are turned into water.[15]
Unverified The pools for houses, streets, town centers and villagers, along with the zombie variants of those pools, live in the mod's data files under village/underground. The sources here do not show their contents.
How do you progress through Underground Villages Mod?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.2 guide
The data available for Underground Villages is all world generation. It adds an underground village structure for you to find, so for this mod the path is exploration rather than a ladder of tiers.[3][4]
Where the villages can generate
The underground village can only start in a fixed list of biomes: desert, plains, meadow, savanna, snowy plains and taiga. If you want to find one, search below those biomes.[4][5]
Placement uses a random spread with a spacing of 32 and a separation of 7, so villages are scattered across the world rather than packed together. The structure is generated in the underground decoration step.[4][6]
What the structure is made of
The village is a jigsaw structure that starts from a town center piece, with a size of 6 and a maximum distance from the center of 80.[4]
- Animal pens can contain cows, pigs, horses and sheep. Cows and pigs are the most common pens, each with a weight of 7, while each horse and sheep pen has a weight of 1. There is also an empty option with a weight of 5, so some spots have no pen at all.[9]
- The village has a piece for an iron golem and a piece for the bottom of a well.[12][13]
- A street processor swaps calcite for grass blocks with a probability of 0.1 per block. It also swaps calcite for oak planks where water is present.[15]

We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as underground_villages, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
