What is Ranged Pumps?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 1.26 guide

Ranged Pumps is part of this pack. The pack ships version 1.3.0 of the mod, in the file rangedpumps-1.3.0.jar.[1]

It has been in the pack for a while. The pack list says it was first included in version 0.32 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the modlist and not a recent addition.[1]

Unverified I couldn't confirm from the available sources what Ranged Pumps does in detail, how its items are crafted, any pack-specific changes to its recipes or configs, or where it fits in the pack's progression. No quests or ATM Star path entries involving it were found, so none are described here.

How do you get started with Ranged Pumps?

1 part

Ranged Pumps adds one block, the Pump, so your getting started is short: craft the Pump and learn to read what it tells you. The recipe below is the in-pack one.[2][3]

Reading the Pump's status

Once the Pump is placed, it reports what it is doing in its status text. That text is your first stop when something seems stuck, because each problem has its own message.[3]

  • Scanning: the Pump shows the coordinates it is scanning and how far through its range it is (a current range out of a maximum).[3]
  • Insufficient energy: the Pump runs on FE, and this message means it is not getting enough. When it holds fluid, the status also shows its stored fluid in mB and its energy as a current and maximum FE figure.[3]
  • Internal tank is full: the Pump has stopped because its own tank has no room left.[3]
  • Not working due to redstone signal: a redstone signal is switching the Pump off.[3]
  • Done: the Pump has finished its work.[3]
Tip: If the Pump seems idle, read its status text first. It tells you whether the cause is power, a full tank or a redstone signal, so you do not have to guess.[3]

How does Ranged Pumps work?

4 parts

The Ranged Pumps mod adds a single machine, the Pump. The sources for this pack only show it through its on-screen status text, its block drop and its crafting recipe, so this section covers what the pump tells you about itself.[2][3][4]

Energy and internal tank

The pump runs on FE. Its status line shows how much energy is stored against its capacity. When it holds fluid, the line also shows how many mB of which fluid are in its internal tank. When the tank is empty, it shows only the energy figures with an "Empty" label.[3]

Reading the pump's status

The pump reports what it is doing in plain text, so you can diagnose it without guessing. These are the states it can show:[3]

  • Scanning: the pump is working. It shows the coordinates it is checking and how far through its range it is, written as "range: X of Y".[3]
  • Insufficient energy: the pump does not have enough FE to carry on, so check your power supply.[3]
  • Internal tank is full: the pump has no room left for more fluid.[3]
  • Not working due to redstone signal: the pump is being stopped by a redstone signal.[3]
  • Done: the pump reports that it has finished.[3]
Tip: If your pump seems stuck, read its status first. It tells you whether the cause is power, a full tank or a redstone signal.[3]

Breaking it

The pump's loot table drops the pump item itself, with a survives-explosion condition attached.[4]

How do you progress through Ranged Pumps?

Ranged Pumps has no tier ladder in this pack. The only item the sources show for Ranged Pumps is the Pump, so there is nothing to upgrade through.[2][4]

The Pump is made with a shaped crafting recipe that comes from the mod itself. The pack does not change it, so this is the recipe you use in the pack:[2]

Once placed, the Pump block drops itself when you break it. The drop is skipped only if an explosion destroys it, so you can pick it up and move it without losing it.[4]

Unverified Whether the pack's quest book unlocks or mentions the Pump is not shown by the sources here. No quest chapter for this mod is given, so there is no quest-driven progression to describe.
