Macaw's Fences and Walls in All the Mods 11

Macaw's Fences and Walls adds new vanilla-styled fences, walls and gates to Minecraft. If you build a lot and find the vanilla options a bit limited, this is the mod that gives you more to choose from while keeping that familiar vanilla look.^[1]

The mod's author says more content is planned for future updates and invites players to suggest ideas on the Macaw's Discord.^[1]

In this pack

This pack ships version 1.2.1 of the mod, built for NeoForge (the file is mcw-fences-1.2.1-mc26.1neoforge.jar). It has been part of the pack since version 0.0.1 or earlier, so it is a long-standing inclusion rather than a recent addition.^[2]

The sources I have for this mod do not show a quest book chapter or group for it, so I can't tell you what comes before or after it there. Treat it as a building and decoration mod that you pick up whenever you want it.^[2]

Macaw's Fences and Walls adds vanilla styled fences, walls and gates. Everything in the mod is a building piece, so getting started just means picking a style and crafting a few pieces to see how they look. Here is the order I'd go in.^[1]

Start with a wooden fence

Each wood type comes in several styles. Acacia, for example, has the Acacia Picket Fence, Acacia Stockade Fence, Acacia Horse Fence, Acacia Wired Fence and Acacia Hedge. Bamboo also has a plain Bamboo Fence next to its styled ones. Here are two to try first:^[3]

Add a matching gate

Wooden sets also have gate styles: curved, highley and pyramid. The Acacia Curved Gate is one example, and the other woods follow the same naming, like the Bamboo Pyramid Gate and Birch Highley Gate.^[3]

Move on to stone walls and railing gates

Stone type materials get grass topped and pillar walls, plus a railing gate. Andesite has the Andesite Grass Topped Wall, Andesite Pillar Wall and Andesite Railing Gate. Granite, diorite and deepslate follow the same pattern.^[3]

This mod is a building-block mod, so there's no power, fluid or item-transfer system to learn here. It adds vanilla-styled fences, walls and gates, and everything you place behaves as a block in the world.^[1]

What you can place

The pack's recipe list shows the mod's variety. There are wooden styles like the Acacia Picket Fence, Acacia Stockade Fence, Acacia Horse Fence and Acacia Wired Fence. There are hedges like the Azalea Hedge. There are gates like the Acacia Curved Gate, Acacia Highley Gate and Acacia Pyramid Gate. Stone-type walls and railing gates appear too, such as the Andesite Pillar Wall and the Blackstone Railing Gate.^[3]

Crafting

Every recipe shown for these items is a standard shaped crafting recipe from the mod, so you make them at a crafting table like any other vanilla-style block.^[3]

Stacking upwards

Some pieces carry a tooltip that reads "Can be stacked upwards to be taller". If you see it on an item, you can build the piece higher by placing more of it on top.^[4]
