What is Generator Galore?

Generator Galore is part of the pack at version 26.1.2-1.7.0, shipped as the file generatorgalore-26.1.2-1.7.0.jar. It has been in the pack since 0.7.0-beta or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]

The sources I have for this pack cover only the version and file. I won't describe the mod's generators, recipes or settings here, because nothing I can check backs them up.[1]

How do you get started with Generator Galore?

4 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide

Generator Galore is built around generators that come in tiers, and the pack gives you upgrade items that are named for the tiers they link. Nearly everything here is a normal crafting recipe, so you can start as soon as you have the materials.[2][3]

Start with the Copper Generator

Begin with the Copper Generator. None of the upgrade items in this pack ends in copper, while the first upgrade in the chain starts from it. That makes it the natural entry point to the mod.[2]

Once a generator is placed, its screen shows the remaining fuel time and the transfer rate in FE/t. Use that to check what it is doing.[3]

Move up with upgrades

The first upgrade item you will want is the Copper to Iron Upgrade, which leads to the Iron Generator. The Iron Generator also has its own crafting recipe.[2][3]

After iron, the upgrade names point to the Iron to Gold Upgrade, which leads to the Gold Generator.[2][3]

Pick a branch from gold

Gold is where the chain splits. There is a Gold to Diamond Upgrade and a Gold to Culinary Upgrade, so you can head toward diamond or toward the culinary line.[2][3]

Tip: The Netherite Generator and the Diamond to Netherite Upgrade use smithing recipes in this pack, not crafting-table recipes.[2]

    Bulk versions

Most generators also have 8x and 64x versions with their own crafting recipes, for example the 8x Copper Generator. They are handy once you want to scale up.[2]

    How does Generator Galore work?

    5 parts

Generator Galore is all about generator blocks that burn a fuel and give you Forge Energy. The generator screens show the remaining fuel time and the transfer rate in FE/t.[3]

    Generator sizes

Each generator type comes as a normal block, an 8x block and a 64x block. For example, the Culinary Generator has Culinary Generator, 8x Culinary Generator and 64x Culinary Generator. The same pattern runs through copper, iron, gold, diamond, emerald, obsidian, netherite, netherstar, enchantment, ender, halitosis, honey, magmatic, potion and culinary generators.[3]

The 8x and 64x blocks are crafted with their own shaped recipes, separate from the normal generator recipes. The sources here do not show the power output of the bigger sizes.[4]

    Fuel the mod ships

The mod defines its fuels in data maps. The fuel numbers below come straight from the mod's own files, and nothing I was given shows the pack changing them. Each entry has a consumption rate and a generation rate, and solid fuels also have a burn time.[5][6]

    • Magmatic Generator: burns any fluid in the lava tag (#minecraft:lava). The entry has a consumption rate of 0.4 and a generation rate of 40.0.[5]
    • Ender Generator: burns Ender Pearls with a burn time of 1,600, a consumption rate of 1.0 and a generation rate of 96. It also burns Eyes of Ender with a burn time of 3,200, a consumption rate of 1.0 and a generation rate of 80.[6]
    • Halitosis Generator: burns Dragon Breath with a burn time of 12,000, a consumption rate of 1.0 and a generation rate of 128.[6]
Tip: In the Ender Generator, the Eye of Ender burns twice as long as the Ender Pearl (3,200 against 1,600) but has the lower generation rate (80 against 96). So the choice is long burn time versus a higher rate.[6]

These fuel entries are keyed to the base blocks, Ender Generator and the Halitosis and Magmatic Generators. The sources do not show fuel entries for the 8x or 64x variants, or for the other generator types.[3][5][6]

    Upgrades

The mod has upgrade items whose names describe a progression: Copper to Iron, Iron to Gold, Gold to Diamond, Gold to Culinary, Diamond to Emerald, Diamond to Obsidian, Diamond to Netherite, Obsidian to Enchantment, Obsidian to Ender, Obsidian to Magmatic, Ender to Halitosis, Culinary to Honey, Culinary to Potion and Netherite to Netherstar. This gives you a rough map of how the generator tiers connect.[3]

The Diamond to Netherite Upgrade and the Netherite Generator itself are both smithing transform recipes.[4]

The upgrade item is made with a smithing recipe.

The Netherite Generator is also a smithing recipe.

        Blocks that drop themselves

In the mod's own files, the copper and culinary generators (normal, 8x and 64x) have block loot tables that drop the block itself, with a survives explosion condition.[7][8][9][10][11][12]

Watch out: This pack generates its own loot table files for the 64x copper, diamond, emerald, gold, iron and obsidian generators at load time. Each one contains only a never condition. The mod's own copper 64x file does drop the block, so the pack's file differs from the mod default.[13][14][15][16][17][18]

        Where the pack uses generators

The pack's own scripts use some generator blocks as ingredients in other items: 64x Netherstar Generator, Ender Generator, 64x Magmatic Generator and 8x Ender Generator. The pack also replaces the Entangled block recipe with a version that uses the 8x Ender Generator.[19][20]

How do you progress through Generator Galore?

        4 parts

Generator Galore is all about climbing a ladder of generators, and in this pack that ladder is built from upgrade items. Every generator has its own crafting recipe, and dedicated upgrade items link one generator type to the next. Here is how the tiers fit together, based on the recipes the pack actually loads.[4]

        The upgrade chain

Read together, the upgrade items show a branching path rather than a single straight line.[4]

        Starting out

The Copper Generator is the first rung of the metal line, and it is a shaped crafting recipe. Here is the in-pack recipe.[4]

The first upgrade item is also a plain crafting recipe.[4]

        The netherite step is different

Most generators and upgrades are shaped crafting recipes. The Netherite Generator and the Diamond to Netherite Upgrade are the exceptions: both are smithing transform recipes instead.[4]

            Also a smithing recipe.

            8x and 64x versions

Every generator type also has an 8x version with its own shaped crafting recipe, for example the 8x Copper Generator.[4]

64x versions are more limited. The recipe list has a 64x crafting recipe only for culinary, enchantment, ender, halitosis, honey, magmatic, netherite, netherstar and potion. There is no 64x crafting recipe for copper, iron, gold, diamond, emerald or obsidian.[4]

An example of a 64x recipe that does exist in this pack.

Watch out: The mod's own jar ships block loot tables for the 64x copper, diamond and emerald generators, but the pack generates replacement files at load time whose condition is never. The same replacement exists for the 64x gold, iron and obsidian generators. So don't plan around 64x versions of those metal tiers.[7][13][14][15][16][17][18][21][22]
