What is Farming for Blockheads?
2 parts
Farming for Blockheads is a farming-utility mod built around a customizable Market block. You can buy seeds, saplings and other things like bone meal from it. If you like a tidy, low-effort farm, this mod is for you.[1]
The Market has a searchable, scrollable trade list that you can filter by category. Trades and categories are configurable, so a modpack can add more of them. Just Enough Items shows the Market trades too, which makes it easy to check what's on offer.[1]
What else it adds
- Chicken Nest: collects the eggs laid by your chickens.[1]
- Feeding Trough: automatically feeds animals.[1]
- Fertilizer: improves crop output or growth, or prevents tampering.[1]
- Sprinklers and a shipping bin, which the mod's description lists alongside the Market.[1]
In this pack
This pack includes Farming for Blockheads version 26.1.2.4 for NeoForge. The mod requires Balm to be installed alongside it. It's also described as compatible with Pam's Harvestcraft, Biomes O' Plenty and Simple Farming.[1][2]
Unverified The sources don't show whether this pack changes any of the mod's recipes, configs or Market trades. They also don't show where it sits in the progression, and it doesn't appear to be on the ATM Star path or tied to any quests. Check in-game, for example with JEI, before relying on specific trades or prices. This site does hold All the Mods 11's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you get started with Farming for Blockheads?
5 parts
Farming for Blockheads adds a customizable market, a shipping bin, sprinklers and more farming utilities. The best way to start is with the Market, then add the utilities that fit the farm you are building. Here is the order I would go in.[1]
Start with the Market
The Market is the centerpiece of the mod. It lets you buy seeds, saplings and other things such as bone meal, and you can search and scroll through its trades and filter them by category. That makes it a great first craft, because you can pick up starting crops without hunting for them.[1]

Make a Watering Can
Next, make the Watering Can. You refill it at a water source, and farmland hydrated by it has a chance of a bonus growth. Rain and Watering Cans can hydrate farmland even when the mod's option to stop nearby water from moistening farmland is switched on.[4]

Add fertilizer
Once you have crops planted, fertilizer helps you get more out of them. Green Fertilizer increases crop output by giving a chance at a bonus crop. Red Fertilizer gives a chance at a bonus growth instead. Fertilized Farmland can turn back into regular Farmland each time it provides a bonus, so expect to reapply it.[4]

Automate your animals
When you start keeping animals, a couple of blocks save you a lot of running around. The Chicken Nest collects eggs laid by chickens within its range. The Feeding Trough auto-feeds nearby animals that are ready to mate, and it stops feeding once it reaches a maximum number of animals per type.[1][4]

How does Farming for Blockheads work?
4 parts
Farming for Blockheads is a set of farming utilities: a market, a shipping bin, sprinklers, a chicken nest, a feeding trough, fertilizers and more. The sources here describe individual blocks and tools, and they don't describe any multiblocks, power or fluid networks. The mod also requires Balm to be installed alongside it.[1]
The Market
The Market is where you buy seeds, saplings and other things like bone meal. Its trade list can be searched, scrolled and filtered by category, and it's configurable, so further trades and categories can be added. If you use Just Enough Items, the market trades show up there too.[1]
Trades are organised into groups. The mod has an include list and an exclude list, and the exclude list wins if a group is on both. The 'default' alias covers the built-in groups: seeds, saplings and the Minecraft fertilizers. As an example from the mod, excluding the seeds group would remove all seeds from the market.[4]
The mod also has a setting for the list of names a merchant can have. Another setting can treat merchants as babies on a technical level, which may fix exploits based on merchant death loot.[4]

Animal helpers
The Chicken Nest collects eggs laid by chickens. The mod has a setting for how far away it picks up laid eggs.[1][4]
The Feeding Trough automatically feeds nearby animals that are ready to mate. The mod has a setting for the range within which animals can be fed, and another for the maximum number of animals per type, after which the trough stops feeding.[1][4]

Fertilizer and farmland
Fertilizers improve crop output or growth, or prevent tampering. Green Fertilizer increases crop output and has a chance to give a bonus crop. Red Fertilizer has a chance to give a bonus growth.[1][4]
Fertilized Farmland has a chance to turn back into regular Farmland each time a bonus is provided, and the mod has a setting for that chance.[4]
The Watering Can hydrates farmland, and you refill it at a water source. Farmland hydrated by a watering can has a chance of a bonus growth. The mod also has an option to stop farmland from becoming moist from nearby water, in which case rain and watering cans still hydrate it.[4]

Unverified The actual values for the ranges, chances and limits mentioned above are set in the mod's config, and the sources here do not show them, because no config files for this mod are available. Check the behavior in game before you build around any of them.
