Auroral

Rarely at Nights in Snowy Biomes the Auroral Event will occur. The Sky will brightly shine Blue, Pink, and Green and there'll be similar colored Particles everywhere. When the Aurora is here a few things will Spawn, from new Plants to Mobs. With these and a few Vanilla Items we can make new Gear, Blocks, and Items all Winter related!

The Glacial Basin will collect Liquid Aurora. It goes up to Level 3 and only with Level 3 we can use Items on it to Infuse them with Aurora. The more Basins, the more Aurora you can Collect!

Aurora Blooms will Grow randomly during Auroras. They can Grow on or in Snow, Layered Snow, Powdered Snow, and Ice. When fully Grown you can Break them to get Frozen Petals and another Aurora Bloom. Once it is Daytime and the Aurora is over, the Blooms will all disappear, including ones you've Placed. Unless you've used Silk Touch to Harvest them. If you do you'll only get a Decorative Bloom which lasts forever but doesn't Drop Petals.

Using an Ender Pearl on an Aurora Bloom will change it into an Ender Bloom. We can Harvest these for Aurora Ender Shards, which can be Crafted with another one to make an Ender Pearl. Ender Blooms will Drop as well but have to be Planted on End Stone to Grow them.

Frozen Petals are Dropped from mature Aurora Blooms. We can do a ton with them! We can Craft Food Items and Glow Leek Seeds. Cold Brewing Stands are a Block we can make with them as well, plus we can use Frozen Petals to Brew Awkward Potions. We can Infuse them to unlock even more Recipes and most importantly... If you Shift Right Click on any Snow with 2 Empty Hands, you'll leave a Snow Angel in the Snow. Right Click the Snow Angel with a Frozen Petal and it won't disappear.

Shimmerweave is made from Infusing Woven Leather in a Glacial Basin. Woven Leather is just Wool and Leather Crafted together. It's only use is making the 4 Pieces of Shimmerweave Armor... not much else.

Aurora Shards are important Crafting Ingredients. Infusing Frozen Petals will give us Aurora Shards. We'll need them to Craft Shimmer Smithing Templates, Hearthwood Logs, and Aurora Lanterns. They're also used in Taming Mobs from the Auroral.

The Aurora gives us another Mob, this one is a change with a Mob already given to us by Vanilla. Take a Snow Golem (2 Blocks of Snow with a Carved Pumpkin on top) and hand them an Aurora Shard to make an Auroral Snowlette. Auroral Snowlettes are tiny Purple Snowmen. They don't Shoot Mobs with Snowballs they just Follow you and Glow. You can Shift Right Click to make them Sit still and Feed them Snowballs to Heal them.

Used to make Shimmersteel Gear and Shimmerweave Armor. All Gear made with Shimmersteel and Armor made with Shimmerweave will repair themselves if they're Equipped during an Aurora.

Shimmerweave Armor is made by combining Iron Armor, a Shimmer Template, and Shimmerweave Fabric. The full set has 20 Armor Points and 8 Armor Toughness, same as Netherite. The Goggles will give Glowing to Hostile Mobs. The Tunic will put out Fire that is currently burning your skin off. The Leggings will give a Speed Boost on Snow, Soul Sand, and Soul Soil. Last, the Skates will make you Walk faster on Ice but with less friction. You'll also Freeze Water and turn Lava into Obsidian by Walking over it. It also removes Fall Damage when you land on Ice or Obsidian.

Shimmersteel is the Ingot we get from Auroral. It starts by Crafting the Unrefined version with Copper, Iron, and Coal. Then, Infuse it by tossing it into a full Glacial Basin and we'll get our Shimmersteel Ingot!

Potions can be pretty annoying to make for a dozen reasons. Brewing Stands require going to the Nether to Craft and Fuel. Too many Items and Recipes to keep track of. Bottles you have to keep Dropping and Refueling. Cold Brewing Stands fix the first issue, the rest it can't help with. Cold Brewing Stands use the same Recipes but are Crafted with Frozen Petals and use Snowballs as Fuel instead of Blaze Powder.

Shimmersteel Tools all have their own unique abilities. Shovels come with Silk Touch. Hoes also have Silk Touch and can be used on Snow to make Shimmer Soil. Axes can be used on Copper Blocks to make them Oxidize, the opposite of stripping them like Axes usually do! Pickaxes are the same Tier as Iron Pickaxes and come with Fortune 3, but only for Gems. I know that includes Diamonds and Emeralds... I don't know what else.

We have 3 Shimmersteel Weapons we can use: Sword, Spear, and Bow. The Sword will give Mobs Frostbite when you Hit them below a certain amount of Health. The Spear will do the same just for any Hits regardless of the Mobs Health. Including a bonus Damage if there is an Aurora happening. The Bow doesn't use Arrows, instead it uses Snowballs! When Mobs are Hit with the Snowball they'll take Damage. If they are Hit or near the Snowball they'll get Effected with Blindness and Glowing.

Nautilus are new Mobs to Minecraft. Aurora gives us our own versions of them! Rarely during Auroras, these Flying buddies will spawn. 30 Seconds after the Aurora stops they'll disappear. They like Aurora Shards and you have a 1/3 Chance to Tame them with one. Once Tamed you can Right Click to Ride them like a normal Nautilus just floating in the Sky! You can even Boost with them by Holding Space. Shift Right Clicking them will make them either Stay or Follow. If you don't want Auroral Nautilus to Spawn you can make and Eat a Roasted Snowball. I'm not sure how you "Roasted" a Snowball, but its an affront to Physics that will piss off Nautilus. Pretty hypocritical coming from a Flying Nautilus. If you regret your cuisinal choices and want Auroral Nautilus to Spawn again, just Eat a Sugared Roasted Snowball. Oh, so they didn't care about the Physics just the taste of it... that makes more sense.

Infused Ice gives us Shimmering Ice! Shimmering Ice is magical, it never Melts, gives off Light, and will even Hydrate Crops just like Water. We'll also need it to Grow Glow Leeks, they will only Grow on Shimmering Ice.

Hearthwood Logs are Campfires which use Aurora Shards instead of Coal. They do a whole lot of Effects. 1. Each of them will increase the chance of an Aurora Spawning by 15%. This can be stacked up to 3 of them for 45%. 2. It will scare off Phantoms same way Cats do. 3. It will negate Damage from Powdered Snow near it.

Glow Leek Seeds are Crafted with Frozen Petals and Seeds. Place them onto Shimmering Ice to Grow them. Eating them will give you Night Vision and Glowing Effects, Eating Candied versions will just give Night Vision plus a little extra Hunger Points. We can also Brew Night Vision Potions with them!

Pretty Lantern. If you Hold it in your off Hand (or main Hand) you won't get the Darkness Effect.

Shimmer Soil is made by using a Shimmersteel Hoe on Snow. We can't pickup Shimmer Soil... It acts like normal Farmland, it will need Hydration from Water or Shimmering Ice. Then, you can place any Crops on to it to Grow them. Shimmer Soil has something normal Farmland doesn't though, that is a Growth Boost during Nights and an even greater Boost during Auroras! Plants will Grow 3 times faster at Night compared to Day and 5 times as fast during Auroras!
