What is TerraBlender?
All the Mods 10 0.51 ships with TerraBlender version 4.1.0.3, built for NeoForge 1.21.1 (the file is TerraBlender-neoforge-1.21.1-4.1.0.3.jar). It has been in the pack since version 0.32 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]
Unverified The sources I have don't describe what TerraBlender does, who it is meant for, or whether the pack changes any of its recipes or configs. I'm not going to guess, so check the mod's own documentation if you want those details.
Unverified I found no quests that involve TerraBlender, and it does not appear on the ATM Star path in the material I have. That means there is nothing to say here about where it fits in your progression.
How do you get started with TerraBlender?
1 part
TerraBlender works behind the scenes. The pack's config describes biome regions "from each mod that uses TerraBlender", so the biomes you find come from other mods, and the first steps here are about settings, not crafting.[2]
The config file is where you can check how biome regions are shared out. These are the values this pack sets for the Overworld and the Nether:[2]
- general.overworld_region_size is 3. It sets the size of Overworld biome regions from each mod that uses TerraBlender.[2]
- general.nether_region_size is 2. It sets the size of Nether biome regions from each mod that uses TerraBlender.[2]
- general.vanilla_overworld_region_weight is 10. It sets the weighting of vanilla biome regions in the Overworld.[2]
- general.vanilla_nether_region_weight is 10. It sets the weighting of vanilla biome regions in the Nether.[2]
The End
The End has its own settings. The vanilla weights for barrens, highlands, midlands and small islands are all set to 10 in this pack: end.vanilla_end_barrens_weight, end.vanilla_end_highlands_weight, end.vanilla_end_midlands_weight and end.vanilla_small_end_islands_weight.[2]
- end.highlands_biome_size is 4. It sets the size of highlands End biomes.[2]
- end.midlands_biome_size is 4. It sets the size of midlands End biomes.[2]
- end.edge_biome_size is 3. It sets the size of edge End biomes.[2]
- end.island_biome_size is 2. It sets the size of island End biomes.[2]
Unverified The sources here do not show any TerraBlender recipes, items or quests in this pack, so this section covers only its config file.
How does TerraBlender work?
2 parts
The only thing the sources explain about TerraBlender in this pack is its config file. They describe no machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation, so this section covers what the config says and nothing more.[2]
Overworld and Nether regions
The general section of the config controls how biome regions are sized and weighted in the Overworld and the Nether. The pack sets these values.[2]
It is the weighting of vanilla biome regions in the Overworld.[2]
- general.vanilla_nether_region_weight is 10. It is the weighting of vanilla biome regions in the Nether.[2]
The End
The end section covers biome sizes for the different parts of the End, plus weights for the vanilla End biomes. The pack sets all of them as follows.[2]
- end.highlands_biome_size is 4 and end.midlands_biome_size is 4. These are the sizes of highlands and midlands End biomes.[2]
- end.edge_biome_size is 3. It is the size of edge End biomes.[2]
- end.island_biome_size is 2. It is the size of island End biomes.[2]
- end.vanilla_end_highlands_weight, end.vanilla_end_midlands_weight, end.vanilla_end_barrens_weight and end.vanilla_small_end_islands_weight are all 10. They are the weights of the vanilla End highlands, midlands, barrens and small islands biomes.[2]
Unverified The sources do not explain how these sizes and weights combine to decide what you see in the world, and they do not say whether the pack changed any of them from the mod defaults. Machines, multiblocks, power, fluid and item handling are not covered by any source for this mod.
Which TerraBlender config options matter?
2 parts
TerraBlender is mostly a library that lets other mods add biomes, so its config is short. It's all in config/terrablender.toml, and it controls how big each mod's biome regions are and how heavily vanilla biome regions are weighted. Here are the values this pack uses.[2]
Overworld and Nether
- general.overworld_region_size is 3. This is the size of overworld biome regions from each mod that uses TerraBlender.[2]
- general.nether_region_size is 2. This is the same setting for nether biome regions.[2]
- general.vanilla_overworld_region_weight is 10. This is the weighting of vanilla biome regions in the overworld.[2]
- general.vanilla_nether_region_weight is 10. This is the weighting of vanilla biome regions in the nether.[2]
The End
The End has its own size settings, one for each kind of End terrain.[2]
- end.highlands_biome_size is 4 and end.midlands_biome_size is 4.[2]
- end.edge_biome_size is 3.[2]
- end.island_biome_size is 2.[2]
The vanilla End biome weights are all set to 10: end.vanilla_end_highlands_weight, end.vanilla_end_midlands_weight, end.vanilla_end_barrens_weight and end.vanilla_small_end_islands_weight.[2]
Unverified The sources only show the values this pack uses, not the TerraBlender defaults, so it is unconfirmed whether the pack changed any of these options. Check the values in your own config file before tweaking them.
