What is NeoAuth?
NeoAuth is included in this pack at version 1.0.0, shipped as the file NeoAuth-1.21.1-1.0.0.jar. It has been in the pack since version 2.2 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]
Unverified I couldn't confirm what NeoAuth actually does or who it's meant for. There is no description, in-jar guidebook or platform page to draw on, so I'm not going to guess at its features.
Unverified I found no quests that involve NeoAuth, and nothing shows it on the ATM Star path. Don't expect it to be part of the pack's progression.
How do you get started with NeoAuth?
2 parts
NeoAuth is a login helper, not a content mod, so there is nothing to craft or build first. Everything it adds is screen text for signing in to your Minecraft account, which is why this section walks through what you will see instead of a crafting order.[2]
Unverified No recipes, quests or config files for NeoAuth could be confirmed in this pack, so there are no items to make and no quest steps to follow.
Using the login screen
The mod adds a button labelled "Authentication", and hovering over it shows a greeting with your name. There is also a "Re-login" button for when you want to sign in again.[2]
- The screen is titled "Pick a login method" and offers three buttons: Microsoft, Mojang (or legacy) and Offline.[2]
- On the Microsoft button, Ctrl + click lets you choose which account to use.[2]
- The Mojang button can show "Unavailable, click to learn more", so legacy login may not be an option for you.[2]
- During Microsoft login the screen shows progress messages: "Please check your browser...", then acquiring the Microsoft, Xbox, Xbox XSTS and Minecraft access tokens, and fetching your Minecraft profile.[2]
- When the browser part is done, the page tells you that you can close the window and return to Minecraft.[2]
If something goes wrong
How does NeoAuth work?
4 parts
This one isn't a tech mod, so you won't find machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation here. Everything the sources show about it is a login screen that lets you sign in to Minecraft from inside the game, so this section walks through what that screen does.[2]
The Authentication button
The mod adds a button labelled "Authentication". Its tooltip greets you by name with "Hello, %s!", where the name is filled in for you. A toast with the same greeting is also defined, and there is a "Re-login" button for signing in again.[2]
Picking a login method
The method screen is titled "Pick a login method" and offers three buttons. Here is what each one does.[2]
- Microsoft: the normal route. The tooltip says Ctrl + click lets you choose the account.[2]
- Mojang (or legacy): shows the tooltip "Unavailable, click to learn more", so the legacy route is flagged as unavailable.[2]
- Offline: the third option on the screen. The sources give no further detail about it.[2]
Logging in with Microsoft
The Microsoft screen is titled "Login via Microsoft" and asks you to check your browser. Once you've signed in, the browser page says you can close the window and return to Minecraft.[2]
While it works, the screen shows status messages for these stages: a Microsoft access token, an Xbox access token, an Xbox XSTS token, a Minecraft access token, and fetching your Minecraft profile.[2]
When something goes wrong
- Generic error: "Something went wrong! Please go back and try again."[2]
- Timeout: "Timed out! Please go back and try again."[2]
- Not purchased: "The account has not purchased Minecraft!", so the account you picked doesn't own the game.[2]
Unverified How the mod stores or handles your login data behind the scenes is not documented in the sources available for this pack.
