What is Factory Blocks?

Factory Blocks is part of the pack, which ships version 1.4.0+mc1.21.1 of the mod, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1. It has been in the pack since version 2.39 or earlier, so it is a long-standing part of the mod list rather than a recent addition.[1]

Unverified What Factory Blocks adds in detail (its blocks, items and mechanics) could not be confirmed from the material available for this guide, so this overview does not describe them.

How do you get started with Factory Blocks?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Factory Blocks is a set of industrial-looking blocks, and in this pack the item to make first is the Factory Block. The pack has changed its crafting recipe, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults.[2][3]

Step 1: Craft the Factory Block

This is the only Factory Blocks item with a recipe I can confirm in this pack, so it is the place to start. Here is the exact in-pack recipe:[2]

32× Factory BlockChanged by the pack

Recipe id: factory_blocks:factory

The pack changed this crafting recipe, so this is the version to follow here.

Step 2: See what else the mod offers

The mod's tooltips show where you can go next. There are caution-stripe blocks in yellow-black and orange-white. There are also rusty pieces: segmented rusty plates, a slightly rusty plate, extremely rusted panels, extremely corroded panels and a large rusty scaffold. You'll also find a gold-framed purple circuit block.[3]

The mod also has fans. The tooltips list a redstone-powered fan, a redstone four-sided fan and a redstone malfunctioning fan. There are also always-on versions of the four-sided and malfunctioning fans, so you can pick between redstone control and a fan that just runs.[3]

How does Factory Blocks work?

3 parts

Here's the honest picture for this mod: the sources I have don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation for Factory Blocks. What they do show is a large set of blocks that all share the in-game name Factory Block, and the tooltip is what tells them apart (Rusty Plate, Vent, Grate, Wireframe, Cables and so on).[3]

Fan variants

The one place where the tooltips hint at behaviour is the fan family. The tooltip text sorts the fans by how they are switched and by their layout:[3]

So the pattern is that each fan style comes in a redstone version and an always-on version. There is also a separate Medium Fan, but its tooltip says nothing more than its name.[3]

What happens when you break them

The loot tables I can see for the Factory Block and the fan variants are simple. Each block drops itself as one item, with a condition that it survives an explosion. There are no special drops and no extra rolls in those files.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10]

Crafting the base block

The recipe for Factory Block is changed by the pack, so this is the in-pack recipe:[11]

How do you progress through Factory Blocks?

The sources for this pack show one crafting recipe for the mod: the Factory Block. The pack has changed that recipe from the mod's own version, so follow the one below.[11]

32× Factory BlockChanged by the pack

Crafting Shaped

Crafting Shaped

StoneEmpty slotStone

Recipe id: factory_blocks:factory

This is the in-pack recipe for the Factory Block, changed by the pack, so use it rather than the mod's default.

A placed Factory Block drops itself when you break it, as long as it survives any explosion that hits it.[10]

The other blocks whose loot tables are available follow the same pattern. Cables, fans, grates, gears and the grinder each drop their own item, and so do the circuit and wireframe variants.[4][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19]

What changed in Factory Blocks between versions?

The pack changelogs record one change for Factory Blocks: in All the Mods 10 2.39 it was updated from 1.3.4+mc1.21.1 to 1.4.0+mc1.21.1.[20]

All the Mods 10 8.2 ships Factory Blocks 1.4.0+mc1.21.1, so that 2.39 update is the version you are playing with. The mod was already in the pack by 2.39 at the latest.[1]

Unverified What the mod itself changed between 1.3.4 and 1.4.0 (new features, fixes or balance changes) is unverified, because no changelog for the shipped jar is available. Check the mod's own release notes before assuming anything about what is new.
