What is Utility vest?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 5.5 guide
Utility vest is included in this pack as version 1.1.1, so that's the build you'll be playing with.[1]
Unverified The available sources don't describe what Utility vest adds, how it works, who it's aimed at, or where it fits in the pack's progression. This overview will be expanded once that can be confirmed.
How do you get started with Utility vest?
3 parts
The Utility Vest mod adds a vest with its own inventory, and it comes in Leather, Iron, Gold, Diamond and Netherite versions: Leather Utility Vest, Iron Utility Vest, Gold Utility Vest, Diamond Utility Vest and Netherite Utility Vest. Every one of them has its own crafting recipe in this pack.[2][3]
First, make the Leather Utility Vest
Start with the leather version. Its recipe needs only a chest and leather, so you do not need any ingots or gems to get a vest in your hands and try out the inventory, filters and restock features.[2][3]
Crafting Shaped

The recipe takes any chest and any leather from the matching item tags, so any chest or leather works.
Then pick a higher version
Iron, gold, diamond and netherite each have their own shaped crafting recipe. Each one still uses a chest and leather, plus a material that matches the vest. Craft whichever one your current progress allows.[2]

Learn the vest's controls
Once you have a vest, hover over it and read the tooltip. It tells you how to open the vest inventory menu, and that Sneak plus a key opens the filter menu.[3]
- Filters: set up what the vest should accept, then use the Restock key to insert items matching your filters into the vest's inventory. You should see a "Restocked vest inventory" chat message.[3]
- Hotbar presets: the tooltip says to set filters with a modifier key plus a number key, and to load them the same way. The chat confirms with "Saved Hotbar" or "Loaded Hotbar" and the slot number.[3]
- Keybinds: everything sits under the "Utility Vest" category in the controls menu, with entries for Open Gui, Load Modifier, Save Modifier and Restock.[3]
How does Utility vest work?
4 parts
This mod is all about the vest itself. The sources describe a wearable vest with its own inventory menu, a filter menu and a handful of keybinds. They say nothing about machines, multiblocks, power or fluids, so everything here runs through the vest's menus and your controls.[3]
The vest tiers
The pack has these vests: Leather Utility Vest, Iron Utility Vest, Gold Utility Vest, Diamond Utility Vest and Netherite Utility Vest. Their recipes are shown below, and the pack's recipe dump lists each of them as a mod recipe rather than a pack change.[2][3]

Inventory and filters
Each vest has an inventory menu and a filter menu. The Utility Vest menu is the vest's inventory, and the Filters menu is where you decide which items the vest cares about. The vest's tooltip tells you which key opens the inventory menu.[3]
To open the filter menu, hold Sneak and press the key shown in the tooltip. The mod also adds an Open Gui keybind under the Utility Vest category in your controls.[3]
Restocking
The Restock key inserts items from your inventory that match your filters into the vest's inventory. When it works, you get the chat message "Restocked vest inventory".[3]
Saving and loading filter sets
You can store filter setups and swap between them. The tooltip says you set filters with a modifier key plus a number key, and load them with another modifier key plus a number key. In your controls these are called Save Modifier and Load Modifier.[3]
The game confirms each action in chat with "Saved Hotbar" or "Loaded Hotbar" followed by the number you used.[3]
How do you progress through Utility vest?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.14 guide
The Utility Vest line in this pack runs from Leather Utility Vest through Iron Utility Vest, Gold Utility Vest and Diamond Utility Vest up to Netherite Utility Vest. Every tier has its own crafting recipe, so you can make whichever vest you have the materials for.[4]
Each recipe is a shaped crafting recipe from the mod itself. The recipes below are the in-pack versions, so what you see is exactly what you can craft here.[4]
