What is Soulplied Energistics?

2 parts

Soulplied Energistics is a small bridge mod. As far as this pack's quest book shows, it lets your AE2 ME network reach the Souls stored inside Industrial Foregoing's Soul Laser Base, so you don't have to carry Soul Pipes around. The pack ships version 1.0.3, and it has been in the pack since 0.3.0-beta or earlier.[1][2]

How it works, per the quest book

The quest book describes it like this: put an ME Storage Bus on top of the Soul Laser Base, and your ME network can access the Souls inside. You can then request those Souls to be held in an ME Interface. That is the whole setup the quest describes, so I won't guess at any other features.[2]

Where it sits in the quest book

The quest "Soulplied Energistics" quest lives in the Industrial Foregoing chapter. That chapter is in the Tech group and is chapter 48 of 70 in the book. It has 76 quests and opens with "Industrial Foregoing" quest.[2]

Right before it comes the quest called Industrial Foregoing Souls, which is the quest it follows. The quest asks you to have an ME Interface and an ME Storage Bus. I can't show anything that comes after it. The chapter has 41 more quests that aren't covered here, so check the quest book for the rest of the chapter.[2]

It's a regular quest in the Industrial Foregoing chapter, and this mod is not on the ATM Star quest path, so you can skip it if you're only chasing the Star.[2]

How do you get started with Soulplied Energistics?

2 parts

Soulplied Energistics ties into Industrial Foregoing, so your first steps in this pack are the Industrial Foregoing basics. The chapter opens by asking you to craft a Pity Machine Frame, Pity Machine Frame. Latex is used to craft Machine Frames, which you need for machines and upgrades, so Latex is the first thing to sort out.[2]

Step by step: Latex to Plastic

  1. Make a Fluid Extractor to pull Latex out of logs. It runs faster when given power, and the quest says Acacia and Mangrove are the best logs to use.[2]
  2. Optionally, make a Pitiful Generator for power. It generates a small amount of FE from burnable fuels like Coal.[2]
  3. Make a Latex Processing Unit. It uses 750 mB of Latex and 500 mB of Water to produce 1 Dry Rubber.[2]
  4. Smelt the Dry Rubber to get Plastic, which the quest book calls the main resource of Industrial Foregoing.[2]

The quest book sums it up as Latex, then Dry Rubber, then Plastic. Once you have Plastic, the chapter opens up a long list of machines, and the Dissolution Chamber is the one that leads on to the Simple Machine Frame.[2]

Tip: Most wrenches can't rotate Industrial Foregoing machines. The quest a quest in "Industrial Foregoing" lists the wrenches that can, tested mainly on the Laser Drill, so some may not work on other machines. Click its task to see the full list.[2]

The Soulplied Energistics step

In this pack, "Soulplied Energistics" quest sits in the Industrial Foregoing chapter of the Tech group (chapter 48 of 70 in the book). It comes after a quest called Industrial Foregoing Souls, which you can read in the quest book.[2]

The idea is simple: if you would rather not bring Soul Pipes around, you can use AE2 instead. The quest asks you to have an ME Interface and an ME Storage Bus.[2]

  1. Put the ME Storage Bus on top of the Soul Laser Base. This lets your ME network access the Souls inside it.[2]
  2. Request the Souls to be held in ME Interface blocks on your ME network.[2]

How do you progress through Soulplied Energistics?

3 parts

Soulplied Energistics sits at the very end of the Industrial Foregoing quest chapter (group "Tech", chapter 48 of 70 in the book). To reach it, you climb that chapter's machine frame tiers first. Here is the route.[2]

Industrial Foregoing frame tiers

  1. Tier 1: the chapter opens with "Industrial Foregoing" quest, which asks you to craft a Pity Machine Frame (Pity Machine Frame). Latex is used to craft Machine Frames, and the Fluid Extractor (Fluid Extractor) pulls it from logs. Acacia and Mangrove give the most.[2]
  2. Plastic: the Latex Processing Unit turns Latex into Dry Rubber, using 750 mB of Latex and 500 mB of Water for 1 Dry Rubber. Smelting that rubber gives Plastic, which the quest book calls the main resource of Industrial Foregoing. Many of the chapter's machines unlock after the Plastic quest.[2]
  3. Tier 2: "Simple Machine Frame" quest comes after a quest in "Industrial Foregoing". The Dissolution Chamber is used to craft more advanced machines. It needs a certain fluid plus the items for what you are crafting, and the quest says to check JEI.[2]
  4. Tier 3: "Advanced Machine Frame" quest comes after the Simple Machine Frame and "Pink Slime & Liquid Meat" quest. Pink Slime and Liquid Meat come from the Mob Slaughter Factory. Many big machines unlock after this frame, including the Laser Drill, the Mob Crusher and the Stasis Chamber.[2]
  5. Tier 4: "Supreme Machine Frame" quest comes after "Ether Gas" quest. Ether Gas needs the Laser Drill and the Purple Laser Lens. The quest book says you get it by drilling a Wither, and the Stasis Chamber freezes the Wither in place so you can do that.[2]
Watch out: The Ether Gas quest recommends Wither-proof glass around your setup. If you run out of power, the Stasis Chamber stops holding the Wither and you will have to fight it.[2]

After the Supreme Machine Frame

The Supreme Machine Frame opens up the a quest in "Industrial Foregoing", the a quest in "Industrial Foregoing", a few more Mycelial Generators and "Industrial Foregoing Souls" quest. That last one leads to Soulplied Energistics.[2]

The Industrial Foregoing Souls quest covers Soul Laser Base, Blue Laser Lens, Soul Pipe and Soul Surge. The Soul Laser Base extracts Souls from a Mewtwo, and Soul Surges use those Souls to accelerate blocks.[2]

The process hurts the Mewtwo and can kill it, so the quest recommends Stasis Chambers with upgrades for faster healing. It also says to leave a 3 block gap between the floor and the Soul Laser Base.[2]

The Soulplied Energistics quest

"Soulplied Energistics" quest comes directly after the Souls quest. It asks for ME Interface and ME Storage Bus. If you would rather not carry Soul Pipes around, put an ME Storage Bus on top of the Soul Laser Base so your ME network can reach the Souls inside. You can then request them to be held in ME Interfaces.[2]

Unverified The sources here do not show any recipes for this mod's own items. The only place they describe it is the Soulplied Energistics quest in the Industrial Foregoing chapter, which asks for AE2 items.

Which All the Mons quests use Soulplied Energistics?

3 parts

This mod has a single quest in the pack's quest book. It lives in the "Industrial Foregoing" chapter, in the Tech group (chapter 48 of 70 in the book). That chapter has 76 quests, and the mod's quest sits at the far end of its Industrial Foregoing Souls branch.[2]

The path to it

You get there by working through the chapter's machine frame tiers. Here is the route, in order:[2]

  1. Start with "Industrial Foregoing" quest (Tier 1), which asks you to craft a Pity Machine Frame. Latex, Dry Rubber and Plastic follow, starting from the a quest in "Industrial Foregoing" quest.[2]
  2. Once you have Plastic, you reach a quest in "Industrial Foregoing", then "Simple Machine Frame" quest (Tier 2).[2]
  3. Next is "Advanced Machine Frame" quest (Tier 3). It comes after the Simple Machine Frame and "Pink Slime & Liquid Meat" quest.[2]
  4. From the Advanced Machine Frame you reach "Laser Drill" quest, and then "Ether Gas" quest, which also comes after the Purple Laser Lens quest.[2]
  5. "Supreme Machine Frame" quest (Tier 4) comes after Ether Gas.[2]
  6. "Industrial Foregoing Souls" quest comes after the Supreme Machine Frame.[2]
  7. Finally, "Soulplied Energistics" quest comes after the Souls quest.[2]

Industrial Foregoing Souls

This quest asks for Blue Laser Lens, Soul Laser Base, Soul Pipe and Soul Surge. It explains that the Soul Laser Base uses the Blue Laser Lens to extract Souls from a Mewtwo, and that Soul Surges use those Souls to accelerate blocks.[2]

Watch out: The quest says extracting Souls hurts the Mewtwo and it can even die. It recommends Stasis Chambers, ideally with upgrades to heal faster, and a 3 block gap between the floor and the Soul Laser Base.[2]

Soulplied Energistics

The mod's quest asks you to hand in ME Interface and ME Storage Bus. It is the AE2 alternative to carrying Soul Pipes around. You put an ME Storage Bus on top of the Soul Laser Base so your ME network can access the Souls inside. The Souls can then be requested to be held in ME Interfaces.[2]
