What is Cobbleworkers?
2 parts
Cobbleworkers is a companion mod for Cobblemon that turns the Pasture Block into a utility block that gives your Pokémon jobs. Instead of the Pasture Block only holding Pokémon, you can put them to work.[1]
It is described as a server-side mod, so it is aimed at anyone who wants more to do with their Cobblemon team than battling and collecting. That includes players on servers.[1]
In this pack
The pack ships Cobbleworkers 1.8.0+1.7.0 as the NeoForge build. It was first included in version 1.3.0 or earlier.[2]
Custom jobs with datapacks
Jobs can be created through datapacks. The mod's author provides built-in datapacks you can explore, and you can build your own if you want to define new jobs.[1]
Unverified The available sources do not say where Cobbleworkers fits into this pack's progression, and they do not list any job details, recipes, configs or quests for it. Check in-game before relying on any specific behavior.
How do you get started with Cobbleworkers?
2 parts
Cobbleworkers is a companion mod for Cobblemon that runs on the server side. It turns the Pasture Block into a utility block that gives your Pokémon jobs. So your first step isn't crafting anything new. You start with the Pasture Block you already know from Cobblemon.[1]
Your first steps
- Back up your world before you install the mod. The mod's own page asks you to do this, and it's the one safety step worth doing first.[1]
- Get a Pasture Block, the block Cobbleworkers builds on. It's the block that handles the jobs, so it's the one you'll set up first.[1]
- Use the Pasture Block as a utility block to give your Pokémon jobs. This is what the mod adds.[1]
Custom jobs
Cobbleworkers supports jobs made through datapacks. If the built-in jobs aren't enough, you can look at the built-in datapacks and write your own.[1]
Unverified I couldn't confirm which jobs are available in this pack, what each one does, or the exact steps for assigning a Pokémon to a Pasture Block. I also couldn't find any in-pack recipes or quests for this mod, so there is no recipe to show here. Check in-game before relying on specifics.
How does Cobbleworkers work?
2 parts
Cobbleworkers is a companion mod for Cobblemon that runs on the server side. Its whole idea is to turn the Pasture Block into a utility block that gives your Pokémon jobs.[1]
How jobs are defined
Jobs can be created through datapacks. The mod ships with built-in datapacks, and you can use them as examples if you want to write your own jobs.[1]
Because the mod is server-side, the job logic lives on the server. The sources don't say anything more about how that works.[1]
What the sources don't cover
Unverified The sources don't explain which jobs exist, which Pokémon can do which job, how a Pokémon is assigned to a job, how long a job takes, or how items are output or automated. They also don't say whether any config options change these systems in this pack. Treat any of these details as unconfirmed until you've checked them in game.
How do you progress through Cobbleworkers?
3 parts
The pack's quest book doesn't lay Cobble Workers out as tiers. It gives you one starting quest, and every other quest in the chapter comes after it. Each quest covers a different job for your Pokemon, so you can pick whichever one you want next.[3]
Where it sits in the quest book
The quests live in the chapter "CobbleWorkers & Farming", in the Resources group. It's chapter 39 of 70 and holds 20 quests. The first one is "Cobble Workers and Poke Farming" quest, which asks for a Pasture Block. It explains that passive mobs like sheep, chickens and cows have been replaced by Pokemon, and that Cobble Workers gives those Pokemon more farming options.[3]
Jobs by Pokemon type
Most of the chapter is about putting a Pokemon of the right type in a Pasture. Here's what the quests say each type does:[3]
- Steel: harvests fully mature Black Tumblestone from a Pasture. Black Tumblestone grows like amethyst when it's placed next to lava or magma. See "Tumblestone Auto-Mining" quest.[3]
- Rock: harvests amethyst, so you can skip the big redstone machines. See "Amethyst Auto-Harvesting" quest.[3]
- Fire: fills an empty cauldron with lava every 90 seconds ("Free Lava" quest). It also fuels furnaces with the equivalent of a Block of Coal, then goes on cooldown for the same time ("Furnace Fueling" quest).[3]
- Water: fills an empty cauldron with water every 90 seconds ("Free Water" quest). In a Pasture it also extinguishes fire ("Firefighting?" quest).[3]
- Ice: fills an empty cauldron with powder snow every 90 seconds. See "Free Snow" quest.[3]
- Dragon: every 80 seconds, adds the equivalent of 2 Blaze Powder to a Brewing Stand. See "Brewing Stand fill ups" quest.[3]
- Grass: harvests and replants crop seeds ("PokeFarmers" quest) and also farms berries ("Berry Tending" quest). The quest doesn't say which crops work, so you'll need to test that yourself.[3]
- Bug: harvests mature apricorns from trees, as long as they can reach them. See "Apricorn picking" quest.[3]
- Fairy: farms mint leaves. See "Mint Farming" quest.[3]
- Psychic: picks up items from the ground and puts them into inventories. See "Item Pickup" quest.[3]
- Ghost: farms nether wart. See "Nether Wart" quest.[3]
Replacing the vanilla animals
A few quests cover things the old passive mobs used to give you. Use a bucket on a Miltank to get milk ("Ew PokeMilk" quest). Wooloo, Dubwool and Mareep can be sheared for wool, and they regrow it by eating grass ("Shearing Pokemon" quest). Some bird-like Pokemon, such as Pidgey, randomly lay eggs while in a Pasture ("Vanilla Eggs" quest).[3]
If you'd rather have the real vanilla mobs back, "Vanilla Mobs" quest points you to the Market, where they cost a price. There's also "Unethical Farming..." quest: defeated Pokemon drop items, each species has its own drops, and you can check and filter them in the Pokedex.[3]
Which All the Mons quests use Cobbleworkers?
3 parts
All of the quests for this mod sit in one chapter of the quest book: "CobbleWorkers & Farming". It is in the Resources group, is chapter 39 of 70, and has 20 quests.[3]
The chapter opens with "Cobble Workers and Poke Farming" quest, which asks for a Pasture Block. It explains that passive mobs like sheep, chickens and cows have been replaced by Pokemon in this pack, and that Cobble Workers gives your Pokemon even more farming options. Every other quest in the chapter comes after it, so once it's done you can take the rest in whatever order you like.[3]
Pasture jobs by type
- "Tumblestone Auto-Mining" quest asks for Black Tumblestone. Black Tumblestone placed next to lava or magma grows like amethyst, and Steel Pokemon in a Pasture harvest it once it is fully mature.[3]
- "Amethyst Auto-Harvesting" quest asks for an Amethyst Shard. Rock Types in a Pasture can farm amethyst, so you don't need big redstone machines.[3]
- "PokeFarmers" quest asks for Wheat Seeds. Grass Types harvest crops and replant the seeds. The quest doesn't say which crops work, so you'll have to test that yourself.[3]
- "Berry Tending" quest is about Grass Types farming berries too.[3]
- "Apricorn picking" quest is about apricorns. Bug Pokemon can harvest mature apricorns from trees, but only ones they can reach, and only normal apricorns. Allthemodium Apricorns can't be harvested by Pokemon.[3]
- "Mint Farming" quest asks for mint leaves such as Red Mint Leaf. The quest's answer for farming them is Fairy Types.[3]
- "Nether Wart" quest asks for Nether Wart. You need a Ghost Type to farm it.[3]
- "Item Pickup" quest asks for a Chest. Psychic Pokemon pick up items from the ground and place them into inventories, as an alternative to an ender hopper.[3]
- "Vanilla Eggs" quest asks for an Egg. Some bird-like Pokemon, such as Pidgey, randomly lay eggs while in a Pasture. Pair them with a Psychic Pokemon to pick up and store the eggs, or use a hopper, because otherwise the eggs get tossed around randomly.[3]
Fluids, fuel and fire
- "Free Lava" quest asks for a Lava Bucket. With an empty Cauldron, Fire Types fill it with lava every 90 seconds.[3]
- "Free Water" quest asks for a Water Bucket. Water Types fill an empty Cauldron with water every 90 seconds.[3]
- "Free Snow" quest asks for a Powder Snow Bucket. Ice Types fill an empty Cauldron with powder snow every 90 seconds.[3]
- "Brewing Stand fill ups" quest asks for a Brewing Stand. Dragon Types add the equivalent of 2 Blaze Powder to a Brewing Stand every 80 seconds.[3]
- "Furnace Fueling" quest asks for a Furnace. Fire Pokemon in the Pasture give the equivalent of a Block of Coal, then go on cooldown for the same time.[3]
- "Firefighting?" quest asks for Flint And Steel. Water Types in a Pasture extinguish fire.[3]
Mob products and drops
- "Shearing Pokemon" quest asks for White Wool. Wooloo, Dubwool and Mareep can be sheared, eat grass to regrow their wool, and can be dyed.[3]
- "Ew PokeMilk" quest asks for a Milk Bucket. Use a bucket on a Miltank to get milk.[3]
- "Vanilla Mobs" quest asks for a Market. If you miss the vanilla passive mobs, you can get them back there for a price.[3]
- "Unethical Farming..." quest covers drops: Pokemon defeated in battle, against a Pokemon or a player, drop items. You can see each Pokemon's drops in the Pokedex and even filter by them.[3]
