What is Thermaloot?
Thermaloot is part of this pack's mod list. The pack ships version 3.3.1 (file thermaloot-1.20.1-3.3.1.jar), and it has been in the pack since version 0.0.45.4 or earlier.[1]
Unverified What Thermaloot adds to the game (its items, mechanics and settings) is not shown by the sources available for this pack, and no in-jar guidebook was found for it. This guide does not describe those details.
How do you get started with Thermaloot?
1 part
The one Thermaloot item I can confirm from the mod's own text is Capacitor, which shows up in game simply as "Capacitor".[2]
Reading the item names
The mod's language file sorts its name decorations into these groups: amazing, good, normal, bad and terrible. A normal one has no decoration at all. Good ones get names like "Decent" or "Thermally Enhanced", and amazing ones get names like "Perfected" or "Optimised". Bad ones get names like "Stinky" or "Glitchy", and terrible ones get names like "Dud" or "Failed".[2]
There is also a "Bugged" name, and its text asks you to tell Arug about it.[2]
So when you find a Thermaloot item, read the name first. The prefix or suffix tells you which of those groups the name comes from.[2]
The same file also contains the Thermal augment attribute labels "Dynamo Auto-throttle" and "Minimum Output Chance".[2]
Unverified How to obtain the Capacitor in this pack, including any crafting recipe, is not shown in the sources here, so no recipe block appears in this section. No quest chapter or config file for this mod was found either.
How does Thermaloot work?
2 parts
The sources for Thermaloot here are limited to its language file. That shows how the mod labels things, but not how any machines, power or automation behave, so this section sticks to what the labels show.[2]
Quality tiers in item names
The name strings are grouped into sets: terrible, bad, normal, good and amazing, plus a special "bugged" entry. Each format wraps the base item name, so an item can show up with a prefix or suffix added to its normal name. The normal set leaves the name unchanged.[2]
- Terrible: names like "Dud", "Soggy" or "Failed" in front of the item name. Among them is a very long joke tooltip that tells you to throw the item away.[2]
- Bad: names like "Stinky", "Glitchy" or "Corrupted" in front of the item name.[2]
- Good: names like "Decent", "Fast" or "Thermally Enhanced" in front of the item name.[2]
- Amazing: names like "Perfected", "Optimised" or "Amazing" in front of the item name.[2]
- Bugged: a special label that tells you to report the problem to Arug.[2]
The set names suggest a ranking from worst to best. The language file does not say what decides which set an item gets, or what the tiers change beyond the name.[2]
Capacitor and augment attributes
The language file names an item, Capacitor, which is displayed simply as "Capacitor".[2]
The same file also contains labels for Thermal augment attributes: "Dynamo Auto-throttle" and "Minimum Output Chance". These are only the display names. How they apply to dynamos and machines is not described in the sources.[2]
Unverified How the Capacitor charges, stores or transfers energy, how it relates to the quality tiers, and how items get a tier are not shown by the sources here. No config files, recipes or in-jar guidebook for this mod were available.
