Just Dire Things
46 quests, with the items each asks for and where they come from in FTB Skies 2: Aero.
- Welcome to Just Dire Things!
Just Dire Things (JDT) is a cool tech mod that despite the name, actually adds some impressive and slightly overpowered Gadgets, Tools and Armors! To get started with this mod, you'll need to craft the Primogel Goo.
- Just Dyna Things
Just Dyna Things is an addon mod for JDT which adds several new blocks and quality of life things to enhance your playthrough. Note that the [G] guide may not fully reflect the values configured for this pack.
- It All Starts With Goo
JDT has a very unique mechanic for acquiring its materials. It starts by making Goo which will spread onto other blocks to convert them over time. The first Goo that you'll make is called Primogel Goo, which takes only a few basic materials.
Needs: Welcome to Just Dire Things!Asks for:Primogel Goo
- Goo Transmutations
Now that we have some Primogel Goo, we can use it to see how this mechanic works. Start by placing down the Primogel Goo somewhere in an open space, then activate it by giving it either Sugar or Rotten Flesh. You can now place Iron Blocks on any of its faces to start the conversion. {image\:\ftb:textures/quests/direthings/impure_daisy.png width:200 height:100 align:center} You'll notice the Goo slowly starting to spread over, taking it completely over. Once the process is complete, you'll be left with Raw Ferricore Ore. Some Shaders will not properly display this effect, so you might want to disable them if you want to see the changes. Mining this ore will give you Raw Ferricore, which you can smelt down into Ferricore Ingots. Note: Fortune does not work on these ores. You will typically get between 3 or 4 raw ores.

- Creating Blazegold
Once you've gathered some materials from the Nether, you can upgrade to the next tier of Goo. Blazebloom Goo will allow you to create a new tier of metal called Blazegold by converting Blocks of Gold, just like we did with Iron. To activate it, you'll need to feed it either Nether Wart or Blaze Powder. It also retains the ability to create Ferricore Ore, so no need to make another Primogel Goo just for Iron. Not only that, it converts Iron faster than Primogel!
Needs: Goo TransmutationsAsks for:Blazebloom Goo,
Raw Blazegold,
Goo Upgrader T1
- Polymorphic Catalyst
There are several types of Fluids you can create. Some are just simple fuels used to create more power, while others are used to bind time and space. - Blazegold Tools
Blazegold Tools can be repaired by being thrown into Lava, converting the lava into obsidian once repaired. When using a Blazegold Hoe to till dirt, you'll create Blazebloom Soil. This soil grows crops faster and autoharvests fully grown crops by itself. When this happens, the items will only stay in the world for about 2 seconds! Make sure to collect them using an Item Collector.
Needs: Creating Blazegold - Making Celestigems
The next tier of Goo is called VoidShimmer Goo, and allows you to convert Diamond Blocks into Celestigems. To activate it, you'll need to feed it either Ender Pearls or Chorus Fruit. Just like previous tiers, this Goo can also produce the previous resources, and at a faster rate.

Needs: Making CelestigemsAsks for:Shadowpulse Goo,
Raw Eclipse Alloy,
Goo Upgrader T3
- Altering Time
Shadowpulse Goo can also be used to convert Budding Amethyst into Budding Time Crystal Blocks. To create and harvest Time Crystals from these, you'll need to make use of Swapper machines. To start, place the Budding Time Crystal block in the overworld (also works for other overworld-like dimensions). After a little bit of time, the block will make a noise and change colors. It means it's ready to be moved! The next step will be moving the Budding Time Crystal block to the Nether for it to absorb more energy there. Just like before, it will make a sound and change colors when ready. Finally, you'll need to transport the Budding block to the End. It will absorb the dimension's energies and start to grow Time Crystals. Be careful not to harvest any crystal that isn't fully grown! Over time, it will lose the energies it has absorbed and will need to be brought back to each dimension to recharge. This means you'll need to move the small crystal buds as well! To move the block and growing crystals, you'll need to use the Advanced Swapper.
Needs: Ore of the EclipseAsks for:Advanced Swapper,
Time Crystal
- Time Fluid Bucket
Time Fluid is used in the Paradox Mixer, primarily used for the Pina Colada craft. It can also be used to power Budding Time Crystals. You'll want to make the Echoing Budding Time Block once you're able to so that you can mass-produce Time Clusters. It requires Energy and Time Fluid to run.

- Celestigem Tools
Celestigem Tools uses Energy instead of durability and are a little better than Diamond-tier. With the Celestigem Hoe, you can use it to create VoidShimmer Soil. Upgrading your hoe with the Drops Teleport Upgrade and binding it to an inventory before tilling the soil will cause the crops to autoharvest directly into the bound inventory instead. At this tier, you can now combine the shovel, pickaxe, and axe to create the Celestigem Paxel. This tool can accept any of the upgrades for each of the tools used to craft it.

- Useful Machine Tools
With access to Ferricore, you can make many of the simple machines that the mod offers. With new machines, it wouldn't hurt to make the Ferricore Wrench. This tool can rotate machines by right-clicking, or Sneak + Right-clicking will insta-break them for you. The Machine Settings Copier does exactly what you think! Sneak + Right-clicking on a machine with it will copy the settings to the copier, then right-clicking on a different machine will paste the settings.
