What is Pick Up Notifier?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mons 1.3.0 guide
Pick Up Notifier shows you everything you collect in a clean on-screen list. Whether you're mining, exploring, farming or fighting mobs, you can see what just landed in your inventory without opening it. The pack ships version 21.1.1 for NeoForge 1.21.1.[1][2]
What it tracks
- Items, experience and recovered arrows all show up as compact notifications that update in real time as you gather more.[1]
- Similar pickups can merge together, and an existing entry refreshes when you collect more of the same item.[1]
- Entries fade away and slide off-screen after a short time instead of vanishing abruptly.[1]
- You can optionally show pickup counts, item names, inventory totals and item icons.[1]
Who it's for
It's for anyone who wants a quick readout of what they're picking up. That's handy when drops fly everywhere, like in a mob fight or a big mining session. It's a quality-of-life mod and doesn't add blocks, items or a progression step.[1]
Customizing it
The list is highly configurable. You can change its position, scale, colors, backgrounds and spacing, plus how long entries stay visible, how many show at once and how they are grouped. Config files live in the config folder and are named MOD_ID-client.toml, MOD_ID-common.toml or MOD_ID-server.toml, depending on the config type. Not every type necessarily exists for this mod.[1]
Client and server
You need it installed on the client. Installing it on the server is optional, and the mod works in singleplayer, on modded servers and even on vanilla servers. On NeoForge it requires Puzzles Lib.[1]
Unverified Where this mod fits in the pack's progression is unconfirmed. ForgeBase found no quests involving it and no ATM Star path entry for it, so treat it as a standalone quality-of-life addition.
How do you get started with Pick Up Notifier?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mons 1.3.0 guide
Good news: Pick Up Notifier has nothing for you to craft. It's a display mod. It keeps track of what you collect and shows it in a list on your screen, so you can see what you picked up while mining, exploring, farming, or fighting mobs.[1]
The sources I have don't show any recipes, quests, or items for this mod in this pack, so there's no first-items-to-make order to follow here. The first step is just to play and watch the list.[1]
What you'll see
- Items, experience, and recovered arrows show up as compact notifications that update in real time as you gather more.[1]
- Entries fade away after a short time and slide off-screen. Similar pickups can combine, and an existing entry is refreshed when you collect more of the same item.[1]
- You can optionally show pickup counts, item names, inventory totals, and item icons.[1]
Tuning it to your taste
The list is highly configurable. You can change its screen position, scale, colors, backgrounds, and spacing. You can also control how long entries stay visible, how many are shown, and how they are grouped.[1]
If a mod menu is available, you can configure the mod in-game. To edit by hand, the config files live in the config folder of your game directory. They are named after the mod id with a client, common, or server suffix, and not every type exists for every mod.[1]
Unverified The specific config options, default values, and any changes this pack makes to them are not covered by the sources I have, so check the config files in your own install.
How does Pick Up Notifier work?
6 parts
Same as in the All the Mons 1.3.0 guide
Pick Up Notifier is not a machine mod. It is an on-screen list that shows you what you've just collected, so the mechanics here are about how that notification list behaves.[1]
What it tracks
The mod keeps track of everything you collect and shows it in an on-screen list. That covers items, experience, and recovered arrows. Each one appears as a compact notification that updates in real time as you gather more.[1]
How entries behave
- Merging: similar pickups can combine into one entry, which keeps the list tidy while you mine, farm or fight.[1]
- Refreshing: when you collect more of an item that already has an entry, that entry is refreshed.[1]
- Fading: entries fade away after a short time and slide off-screen rather than vanishing abruptly.[1]
What an entry can show
Depending on settings, an entry can display the pickup count, the item name, your inventory total for that item, and the item icon.[1]
What you can customize
The mod describes the list as highly configurable. You can change its screen position, scale, colors, backgrounds, spacing, styling and animations. You can also control how long entries stay visible, how many can show at once, and how they are grouped.[1]
Client and server behavior
Pick Up Notifier must be installed on the client and is optional on the server. It works in singleplayer, on modded servers, and on vanilla servers, because nothing has to be installed server-side.[1]
The mod lists Puzzles Lib as a requirement on Fabric and NeoForge. On Fabric it also needs Fabric API and Forge Config API Port.[1]
Configuration
Settings can be changed in-game through Mod Menu, which needs to be installed on Fabric. You can also edit config files by hand in the config folder. They are named after the mod ID, ending in client, common or server depending on the config type, and a mod may not have every type.[1]
Unverified The sources here show no config files for this mod in the pack, so the exact option names and the values this pack uses for display time, entry limits and grouping are unverified.
Which Pick Up Notifier config options matter?
3 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Pick Up Notifier has a client config and a server config. Every option in this pack where the files list a mod default is set to that default, so this pack doesn't change any of those values. The rest of this section shows what the pack actually uses.[3][4]
Where and how entries show up
- display.screen_corner is BOTTOM_RIGHT, with display.offset_x at 8 and display.offset_y at 4 (both the mod defaults). The other corners you can pick are TOP_LEFT, TOP_RIGHT and BOTTOM_LEFT.[3]
- display.scale is 4, the mod default. A lower scale makes room for more rows, and it works together with the GUI Scale option in Video Settings. display.max_height caps how much of the screen height the list can fill, and it sits at the default 0.5.[3]
- display.display_amount is TEXT, which adds the amount as text next to the item name. You can switch it to OFF, SPRITE (the amount drawn on the item icon, like in your inventory) or BOTH.[3]
- display.entry_background is NONE. CHAT gives a chat-style background and TOOLTIP uses the tooltip background, which can help readability.[3]
- display.inventory_count is false, so entries don't show your total in the inventory. display.display_single_count and display.display_item_name are both true.[3]
- display.default_color is WHITE, and display.ignore_rarity is false, so that color is not forced over item rarity. display.draw_sprites is true, so each entry has a small sprite.[3]
How long entries stay
- behavior.display_time is 80 ticks, the mod default. Setting it to 0 means entries are only removed when space is needed for new ones.[3]
- behavior.move_time is 20 ticks, the mod default. It can't be larger than the display time.[3]
- behavior.fade_away and behavior.move_out_of_screen are both true, so old entries fade and slide off screen instead of vanishing.[3]
- behavior.combine_entries is EXCLUDE_NAMED. The other options are ALWAYS and NEVER.[3]
What gets logged
- general.include_items, general.include_arrows and general.include_experience are all true, so items, collected arrows and experience orbs all show up.[3]
- general.experience_value is true, so experience entries show the XP value instead of the number of individual orbs.[3]
- general.disable_in_creative is false, so pickups are still logged in creative mode.[3]
- On the server side, partial_pick_ups is true, so pickups that only partly fit in a full inventory are still logged.[4]
- backpack_integration is true. It logs items that don't go into your inventory, which gives some backpack mods compatibility.[4]

Items and blocks
We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as pickupnotifier, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
