What is Jump Over Fences?
2 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Jump Over Fences is a small quality-of-life mod with one job: you can jump over fences and walls instead of getting stuck behind them. The mod's own tagline puts it as "you can jump over blocks, why not fences?"[1]
It's a port of the Fence Jumper mod by TheRealp455w0rd, brought forward to newer Minecraft versions under the MIT license.[1]
Who it's for
It's for anyone who has been stopped by a fence or wall while building, farming or running around a base. There's nothing to craft and nothing to learn. It just changes how those blocks behave when you jump at them.[1]
In this pack
The pack includes Jump Over Fences 1.6.1, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1.[2]
The mod is client side, and its page says you don't need to ask for permissions, you just add it.[1]
Unverified The sources do not show any quests in this pack that involve the mod, and the mod is not on the ATM Star quest path. Nothing is confirmed about where it fits in progression, and it doesn't appear to need any.
How do you get started with Jump Over Fences?
1 part
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Good news: there is nothing to craft here. Jump Over Fences is a quality-of-life mod that lets you jump over fences and walls, so they stop trapping you while you explore and build.[1]
What to do first
- Load into your world and walk up to a fence or a wall.[1]
- Jump. Fences and walls that used to hold you in can now be jumped over.[1]
The mod is client side. It does not add a progression step you need to unlock.[1]
Unverified I could not confirm any items, crafting recipes, quests or config options for this mod in this pack, so there is nothing to craft or unlock and no recipe to show. The mod version bundled in the pack is also unverified.
How does Jump Over Fences work?
2 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Jump Over Fences is much simpler than most mods you'll meet in the pack. It has no machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item handling to set up. It does one thing: you can jump over fences and walls that would normally block you.[1]
Client-side behavior
The mod is client side, so you don't need any special permission to use it on a server. Newer versions of the mod also send a message to the server to say that it is installed.[1]
The one config option
The only setting the sources show is client.jumpTheseToo. It is a list of modid:thingid entries for extra things you can jump, and it is used for implicit jumping.[3]
In this pack the list contains a single entry, cfm:oak_upgraded_fence. The config comment names that entry as an example of the default list item, so the sources don't show the pack changing it.[3]
Unverified The sources don't say exactly how implicit jumping works, such as the maximum height you can clear or which blocks count by default. They also list no items, recipes or quests for this mod, so I can't confirm any of that.
Which Jump Over Fences config options matter?
1 part
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Jump Over Fences is a client-side mod, so its settings live in a client config file, config/jumpoverfences-client.toml, and only affect your own game. The sources for this pack show one option in that file.[1][3]
jumpTheseToo
client.jumpTheseToo is a list of extra things you can jump, written as modid:thingid. The file's own comment says it is used for implicit jumping.[3]
This pack sets the list to a single entry, "cfm:oak_upgraded_fence". The file's comment describes that same entry as the default list item, so the pack's value matches the default it names rather than changing it.[3]
What changed in Jump Over Fences between versions?
1 part
Aero 1.10.0 ships Jump Over Fences 1.6.1 (the NeoForge build for Minecraft 1.21.1). The mod was already in the pack by Aero 1.0.3 or earlier, so it has been there from the early releases.[4]
Notable change in 1.6.1
The 1.6.1 changelog lists one change: a fix for an issue with mods that use tags for their fences instead of checking for the vanilla fence class. If a modded fence is registered through tags, this is the fix that lets the mod recognise it.[5]
The pack changelogs have no entries for this mod, and the only mod changelog available here is the one for 1.6.1. I can't tell you what changed between other versions, or which version Aero shipped before 1.10.0.[4][5]

Items and blocks
We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as jumpoverfences, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
