What is Jumbo Furnace?
2 parts
Jumbo Furnace is a multiblock furnace: you build a 3x3x3 of regular Furnaces and it becomes one big Jumbo Furnace. The big upside is that it can process multiple recipes at the same time, so you're not stuck smelting one stack at a time. The pack ships version 5.0.0.9.[1][2]
Upgrading it
You can upgrade a Jumbo Furnace by putting more Jumbo Furnaces into the bottom-right slot of its interface. The quest says you can add up to 64 extra Jumbo Furnaces this way, and each one increases how many items it can smelt at once.[2]
Where it sits in the quest book
The pack's quest book covers Jumbo Furnace in the quest "Bigger & Better" quest, which is part of the "Useful Items & Tips" chapter. That is chapter 2 of 31 in the book, and it holds 30 quests. The chapter's own intro quest, "Tips & Tricks!" quest, describes it as a collection of useful items and tips for your playthrough.[2]
The "Bigger & Better" quest uses an advancement as its task, so it completes when you reach that advancement rather than by handing in an item. Its neighbours in this chapter are other handy extras like "All-In-One Tools" quest and "Simple Magnets" quest, but the sources don't show any quest dependencies, so I can't tell you what unlocks it or what it leads into.[2]
This is a general tips quest, not something tied to the ATM Star path. One quest in the chapter isn't covered here, so check the quest book itself for it.[2]
How do you get started with Jumbo Furnace?
3 parts
The Jumbo Furnace lets you process multiple recipes at the same time. In this pack's quest book it sits in the "Useful Items & Tips" chapter (chapter 2 of 31), in the quest "Bigger & Better" quest.[2]
Step 1: Make your first Jumbo Furnace
There are two routes. You can build a 3x3x3 cube of furnaces in the world to create the Jumbo Furnace, which is what the quest asks for. Or you can get the item itself with the Jumbo Smelting recipe below. The mod also says you can create the item by smelting 27 furnaces inside a Jumbo Furnace.[2][3][4]
Jumbo Smelting (jumbofurnace)
- 27× any furnace player workstations
Recipe id: jumbofurnace:jumbo_furnace
This is the in-pack Jumbo Smelting recipe that produces the Jumbo Furnace item.
Step 2: Upgrade it
Once you have one, put more Jumbo Furnaces into the upgrade slot in the bottom-right of its interface. Each upgrade increases how many recipes it can smelt per cooking cycle. You can add up to 64 extra Jumbo Furnaces, and the mod has an advancement for fully upgrading one with a full stack of 64.[2][4]
- Build the 3x3x3 cube of furnaces, or get the item with the recipe above.[2][3][4]
- Open the Jumbo Furnace and drop a spare Jumbo Furnace into the upgrade slot.[2][4]
- Keep adding more as you need more throughput, up to 64.[2][4]

How does Jumbo Furnace work?
3 parts
The Jumbo Furnace is a multiblock: you build it by placing 27 furnaces in a 3x3x3 cube. The mod also gives the Jumbo Furnace its own screen.[4]
Building it
The mod's advancement text and item tooltip describe the build the same way: place 27 furnaces in a 3x3x3 cube. The mod also adds a Multiblock Building recipe category, which is the place to look if you want to see the build laid out.[4]
There is a second route to the item. The mod describes creating a Jumbo Furnace item, possibly by smelting 27 furnaces inside a Jumbo Furnace. In this pack that recipe uses the mod's own Jumbo Smelting recipe type, and it accepts any furnace from the furnace workstation tag.[3][4]
Jumbo Smelting (jumbofurnace)
- 27× any furnace player workstations
Recipe id: jumbofurnace:jumbo_furnace
In this pack, 27 furnaces from the furnace workstation tag are jumbo smelted into one Jumbo Furnace item.
Smelting and upgrades
The Jumbo Furnace has an upgrade slot. Items placed in it increase the number of recipes the furnace can smelt per cooking cycle. The mod has a Jumbo Furnace Upgrade category, and its info text says the listed items can go in that slot.[4]
The upgrade item is another Jumbo Furnace. The mod's advancements say you upgrade your Jumbo Furnace with a Jumbo Furnace, and that fully upgrading one takes a full stack of 64 Jumbo Furnaces.[4]
Taking it apart
This pack sets [[config:config/jumbofurnace-server.toml#Construction Settings.shearable]] to true. That means you can dismantle a Jumbo Furnace cleanly with shears.[5]
How do you progress through Jumbo Furnace?
3 parts
The Jumbo Furnace has no separate tiers in this pack. Progression is a single quest, then upgrades by stacking more Jumbo Furnaces into the one you built.[2][3]
Where it sits in the quest book
The quest is "Bigger & Better" quest. It's in the "Useful Items & Tips" chapter, which is chapter 2 of 31 in the book and has 30 quests. Its task is an advancement, not a hand-in item.[2]
The quest tells you to build a 3x3x3 of Furnaces to create the Jumbo Furnace. Once built, it can process multiple recipes at the same time.[2]
Crafting it
Jumbo Smelting (jumbofurnace)
- 27× any furnace player workstations
Recipe id: jumbofurnace:jumbo_furnace
The pack's recipe dump lists this as the mod's own recipe. It needs 27 furnaces, and any furnace from the common furnace workstation tag works.

Which FTB Skies 2: Aero quests use Jumbo Furnace?
1 part
The Jumbo Furnace shows up in one quest chapter of the pack's quest book: "Useful Items & Tips", chapter 2 of 31. It's a grab bag of handy items and tips with 30 quests, and the Jumbo Furnace has just one of them.[2]
Bigger & Better
The quest is "Bigger & Better" quest. Its task is an advancement, not handing in an item, so you complete it by building the multiblock.[2]
The quest tells you to build a 3x3x3 of Furnaces to make the Jumbo Furnace. It can process multiple recipes at the same time.[2]
You can upgrade it by putting more Jumbo Furnaces in the bottom-right slot of the interface. Up to 64 additional Jumbo Furnaces can be added as upgrades, and each one increases the amount of items it can smelt at once.[2]
Which Jumbo Furnace config options matter?
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
The only Jumbo Furnace setting the pack's files show is [[config:config/jumbofurnace-server.toml#Construction Settings.shearable]], and it's a handy one. In this pack it's set to true, which means you can cleanly dismantle a jumbo furnace with shears instead of tearing it apart.[6]
Unverified The pack file doesn't say what the mod's default for this option is, so I can't tell you whether the pack changed it. No other Jumbo Furnace config values are available here, so I'm leaving them out rather than guessing.
