What is Jade Sable Compat?

2 parts

Jade Sable Compat is a small client-side compatibility mod for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1. It exists to fix one annoying problem: when you look at a block on a Sable sublevel or a moving construction, Jade should tell you about the block you are actually pointing at, not some wrong block from the main level.[1]

What it fixes

  • It corrects Jade's block selection on Sable sublevels.[1]
  • It makes the Jade tooltip title, icon and selected block line up with the block under your crosshair.[1]
  • It uses a Sable-aware client retrace path, so moving constructions and sublevel rendering use the right pose when the tooltip picks its target.[1]

In this pack

The pack ships Jade Sable Compat 1.3.0 as the file sablejade-1.3.0.jar. It has been in the pack since version 1.0.3 or earlier, so it is part of the setup for your builds from the start.[2]

Because it is a client-side fix, there is nothing for you to craft or place. Look at a block on a moving contraption, and Jade should now show the right one.[1]

How do you get started with Jade Sable Compat?

2 parts

Good news: there is nothing to craft here. Jade Sable Compat is a client compatibility mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge, so it works in the background once it is installed.[1]

What it does for you

When a block belongs to a Sable sublevel or a moving construction, Jade should identify the block you are actually looking at, instead of some wrong block from the main level.[1]

  • It corrects Jade block selection on Sable sublevels.[1]
  • It makes the Jade tooltip title, icon and selected block line up with the actual block under your crosshair.[1]
  • It uses a Sable-aware client retrace path, so moving constructions and sublevel rendering use the right pose when the tooltip picks its target.[1]

What you need to do

Just look at a block on a moving construction with Jade active and check the tooltip. If the title and icon match the block under your crosshair, the mod is doing its job.[1]

Unverified The sources for this pack list no recipes, quests or config files for this mod, so there are no items to make first and no settings to change.

How does Jade Sable Compat work?

2 parts

This one is different from most mods in the guide: there are no machines, multiblocks or pipes to set up. Jade Sable Compat is a NeoForge client compatibility mod for Minecraft 1.21.1, and its whole job is to make Jade point at the right block when you are dealing with Sable sublevels or moving constructions.[1]

What the mod actually does

When a block belongs to a Sable sublevel or a moving construction, Jade can end up identifying a wrong block from the main level instead of the one you are looking at. This mod corrects that, so the tooltip describes the block under your crosshair.[1]

  • It uses a Sable-aware client retrace path, so moving constructions and sublevel rendering use the right pose when the tooltip picks its target.[1]

What you need to do

Nothing. It works on the client side as a fix, so there is no block to place, no power or fluid to supply and no items to automate. You just look at a block on a moving construction and read the Jade tooltip as usual.[1]

Unverified The available information does not describe any items, blocks, recipes, configuration options or quests for this mod, so there is nothing further to explain about its mechanics.

Which Jade Sable Compat config options matter?

1 part

Jade Sable Compat is a client-side mod whose main job is making Jade point at the right block on Sable sublevels and moving constructions. It has very little to configure. Both options you might care about are in config/sablejade-client.toml, under the tooltips group, and both are about extra tooltip lines, not the targeting fix.[1][3]

Tooltip options in this pack

  • tooltips.tooltipInfoMode is set to "NEVER" in this pack. This option controls whether Sable Jade adds extra tooltip lines beyond fixing Jade's targeting. The allowed values are NEVER, ALWAYS and WITH_GOGGLES, so with NEVER you only get the targeting fix and no extra lines.[3]
  • tooltips.tooltipInfoOnlyInSubLevels is set to true in this pack. If true, physics tooltip lines are only shown for blocks that are part of a Sable sub-level (a physics object).[3]
Tip: If you want the extra physics lines, change tooltips.tooltipInfoMode from "NEVER" to one of the other allowed values: ALWAYS or WITH_GOGGLES. Because the sub-level option is true in this pack, those lines will still only show for blocks on a Sable sub-level.[3]

Unverified The sources do not show the mod's own default values for these two options, so it is unconfirmed whether this pack changed either one from the default.

What changed in Jade Sable Compat between versions?

1 part

FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 ships Jade Sable Compat 1.3.0. The mod has been in the pack since 1.0.3 or earlier, so it has been part of Aero for a long time.[2]

Mod changelogs

  • 1.3.0 (the version in this pack): added support for tooltip visibility in Sable sub-levels, and fixed a broken GUI on the steering wheel.[2][4]
  • 1.2.1: fixed wrong default configuration values and cleaned up the code.[5]

The 1.3.0 tooltip change matters if you build and ride Sable contraptions. It is the mod's own fix for tooltip visibility inside sub-levels.[4]

We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as sablejade, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
