What is Inventory Totem?

2 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

Inventory Totem is a small, minimalistic mod with one job: it makes the totem of undying work when it's anywhere in your inventory. In vanilla you have to hold the totem in your hand for it to save you. With this mod, you just have to bring it along.[1]

The effect itself is exactly the same as vanilla. Only the requirement for where the totem has to be changes.[1]

Who it's for

If you don't want to give up a hand slot, or your off-hand is busy with a shield or a torch, this is for you. You keep the safety net of a totem without having to hold it.[1]

In this pack

The pack includes Inventory Totem version 3.4, using the file inventorytotem-1.21.1-3.4.jar.[2]

Unverified Where this mod fits into the pack's progression is unconfirmed. The available sources show no quests that involve it and no place for it on the ATM Star path, and there is no in-jar guidebook to check.

How do you get started with Inventory Totem?

2 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

Inventory Totem is a tiny mod with one job, so there's no long setup. In vanilla Minecraft you have to hold the totem of undying in your hand for it to save you. With this mod installed, the totem works as long as it's anywhere in your inventory.[1]

Your first steps

  1. Get a totem of undying. The mod doesn't change what the totem does, so you still need the regular item.[1]
  2. Put the totem anywhere in your inventory. It doesn't need to be in your hand, and the effect is exactly the same as in vanilla.[1]
  3. Take it with you whenever you head somewhere risky. The mod only helps if the totem is actually in your inventory.[1]
Tip: Your hands stay free for tools, weapons or a shield, because the totem can sit in any inventory slot.[1]

What you won't find

There's nothing to craft for this mod, so this section has no recipe blocks. The sources I have don't show any recipes that make its items, and they don't show any quests tied to it.[1]

Unverified How you obtain a totem of undying in this pack, and whether the pack changes any of the mod's settings, can't be confirmed from the available sources.

How does Inventory Totem work?

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

Inventory Totem is a minimalistic mod, so there are no machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or automation to set up. It changes one thing: how the totem of undying is triggered.[1]

In vanilla Minecraft you have to hold the totem in your hand for it to work. With this mod, the totem just has to be somewhere in your inventory, and the effect is exactly the same as vanilla.[1]

Tip: Bring a totem of undying along and keep it anywhere in your inventory. You no longer need to give up a hand slot for it.[1]

Unverified The sources don't say whether the pack changes anything about this mod. They also don't cover edge cases such as how several totems in one inventory are handled, so treat those details as unconfirmed.

What changed in Inventory Totem between versions?

1 part

FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 ships Inventory Totem 3.4, using the file inventorytotem-1.21.1-3.4.jar. The mod was first included in Aero 1.0.3 or earlier, so it has been part of the pack since the early releases.[3]

Inventory Totem 3.4

The mod's own changelog for 3.4 lists one change for Forge and NeoForge: redundant event register annotations were removed. This fixes events loading when they shouldn't.[4]

The mod author publishes the complete changelog for earlier versions on their own site, if you want to see what changed before 3.4.[4]

Unverified The pack changelogs have no entries for this mod, and the sources here do not show which Inventory Totem versions earlier Aero releases used.

Items and blocks

We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as inventorytotem, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
