What is Tool Kit?
1 part
Tool Kit is a utility mod. It adds a set of handy commands and improves the vanilla structure blocks. The commands are for inspecting items, checking ore spread and clearing out a test area.[1]
This pack includes Tool Kit 87.0.3, the NeoForge build.[2]
What the commands do
- /tk hand prints the registry name and NBT of what you're holding in chat and copies it to your clipboard. /tk hotbar and /tk inventory copy the same info for your whole hotbar or inventory.[1]
- /tk oredist <dimension> <int> counts the ores in a radius of 16x16 * int around you, in the dimension you choose. It prints how many of each ore there were and each one's percentage of all ores in that radius.[1]
- /tk devenv true sets doDaylightCycle, doMobSpawning and doWeatherCycle to false, sets the time to 6000 and clears the weather. Using false turns those game rules back on.[1]
- /tk clear <int> removes all vanilla blocks that aren't ores in a radius of 16x16 * int around you.[1]
- /tk killAll removes or kills entities. /tk killAllAnimals, /tk killAllMonsters and /tk killAllExpOrbs target just those groups.[1]
Tool Kit can also send you a message in chat when you join a world. That message can be changed or disabled in the mod's config.[1]
How do you get started with Tool Kit?
4 parts
Tool Kit is a utility mod, so there is no gear to craft first. Its project page describes it as adding useful commands and improving the vanilla structure blocks, and the commands are where you'll start.[1]
Unverified The sources here show no crafting recipes for Tool Kit and no quests that involve it, so there is no recipe or quest to point you to. Check the pack's quest book yourself if you want to be sure.
Freeze the world with /tk devenv
If you want a calm space to build or test, run /tk devenv true. It sets the doDaylightCycle, doMobSpawning and doWeatherCycle game rules to false, sets the time to 6000 and makes the weather clear. Run /tk devenv false to turn those game rules back on.[1]
Find item and block IDs
These commands help when you need the exact registry name of something, for example while working with other commands.[1]
- /tk hand prints the registry name and NBT of what you're holding in chat and copies it to your clipboard.[1]
- /tk hotbar copies the registry name and NBT of everything in your hotbar to the clipboard.[1]
- /tk inventory does the same for your whole inventory.[1]
Check ore distribution
/tk oredist takes a dimension and a number. It counts the ores in a radius of 16x16 times that number around you, in the dimension you name. It then prints in chat how many of each ore it found and each ore's percentage of all the ores in that radius.[1]
Clean up when things get messy
- /tk clear removes all vanilla blocks that aren't ores in a radius of 16x16 times the number you give, around you. Use it with care, because it deletes blocks.[1]
- /tk killAll removes or kills entities.[1]
- /tk killAllAnimals, /tk killAllMonsters and /tk killAllExpOrbs target animals, monsters and experience orbs.[1]
How does Tool Kit work?
5 parts
Tool Kit doesn't add machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item handling. It's a utility mod built around a set of /tk commands, and its project page also says it improves the vanilla structure blocks. So the core mechanics here are really about what each command does.[1]
World setup
The /tk devenv command takes a true or false value. With true, it sets the doDaylightCycle, doMobSpawning and doWeatherCycle game rules to false, sets the time to 6000 and clears the weather. With false, it sets those same game rules back to true.[1]
Inspecting items
- /tk hand prints the registry name and NBT of the item or block you're holding in chat, and also copies it to your clipboard.[1]
- /tk hotbar copies the registry name and NBT of everything in your hotbar to your clipboard.[1]
- /tk inventory does the same for everything in your whole inventory.[1]
Ore and terrain tools
- /tk oredist takes a dimension and a number. It counts the ores within a radius of 16x16 multiplied by that number around you in the chosen dimension. It then prints in chat how many of each ore it found and each one's percentage of all ores in that radius.[1]
- /tk clear takes a number and removes all vanilla blocks that aren't ores within a radius of 16x16 multiplied by that number around you.[1]
Entity cleanup
- /tk killAll removes or kills entities.[1]
- /tk killAllAnimals kills all animals.[1]
- /tk killAllMonsters kills all monsters.[1]
- /tk killAllExpOrbs kills all experience orbs.[1]
Join message
The mod sends a chat message to players when they join a world. Its project page says this message can be changed or disabled in the config.[1]
Unverified The join message is said to be configurable, but no config file for this mod was found in the pack, so the exact option names and default message are not shown by the sources here.
What changed in Tool Kit between versions?
2 parts
FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 ships Tool Kit 87.0.3, and the mod has been in the pack since 1.0.1 or earlier. I don't have any pack changelog entries for it, so everything below comes from the mod's own changelogs.[2]
Latest changes (87.0.x)
- 87.0.3: protection was added for specific entities, so they are safe from the /toolkit kill command.[3]
- 87.0.2: /tk copy and /tk print now use the correct NBT format for commands. For example, minecraft:item{nbt=data} turns into minecraft:item[minecraft:nbt=data].[4]
- 87.0.1: the /tk copy command gained more copy types: KUBEJS, KUBEJS_NATIVE, JSON, SNBT, NBT, CRAFTTWEAKER, PLAIN and CSV. PLAIN is still the default if you don't give a type, and it is the old default behaviour.[5]
- 87.0.1: the mod works again on NeoForge.[5]
Older milestones
- 87.0.0: updated to 1.21.[5]
- 85.0.0: updated to 1.20.5.[5]
- 84.0.1: the /toggledownfall command was restricted to gamemasters, which is Minecraft's own naming.[5]
- 84.0.0: updated to 1.20.4.[5]

Items and blocks
We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as toolkit, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
