What is Create: Enchantable Machinery?

3 parts

Create: Enchantable Machinery is an add-on for Create that lets you apply vanilla enchantments to Create blocks. The idea is to make your machines more convenient and efficient, and a bit more magical to look at. This pack ships version 3.6.0 for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge.[1][2]

Who it's for

If you already build Create setups and want to squeeze more out of them, this is for you. You can also enchant the blocks on an enchantment table. If you wear goggles, you can see which enchantment a block has.[1]

What you can enchant

  • Mechanical Drill: Efficiency, Fortune and Silk Touch, plus other enchantments that can be applied to a pickaxe.[1]
  • Mechanical Saw: Efficiency, Fortune and Silk Touch.[1]
  • Mechanical Harvester: Fortune.[1]
  • Crushing Wheel: Efficiency and Silk Touch.[1]
  • Mechanical Plough, Encased Fan, Millstone, Mechanical Press and Mechanical Mixer: Efficiency.[1]

The mod also works with enchantments added by other mods. The project page gives the smelting enchantment from Majrusz's Enchantments as an example. I can't confirm from my sources whether that mod is in this pack, so check your own instance before you count on it.[1]

Tip: The enchantment glint on blocks in the world is an experimental feature. If you use shaders and run into problems, the project page recommends installing the Iris & Flywheel Compatibility mod.[1]

Where it fits in the pack

Unverified My sources don't show where this mod fits in the pack's progression. They also show no quests that involve it, and it isn't on the ATM Star path. Treat it as an optional upgrade for your Create machines.

How do you get started with Create: Enchantable Machinery?

2 parts

This add-on doesn't give you a new machine to build. It lets you put vanilla-style enchantments on Create machines you already use, so they work faster or more conveniently. Your first steps are about choosing which machine to enchant first.[1]

Unverified The sources I have show no recipes or quests for this mod in the pack, so there is no crafting step here. Enchanting is the whole workflow.

Step by step

  1. Get a pair of Engineers' Goggles and wear them. With the goggles on, you can see which enchantments a machine has, so you can check that your enchanting worked.[1][3]
  2. Enchant a Mechanical Drill first. It can be enchanted with an enchanting table or an anvil, like any other tool. Efficiency increases its mining speed, and Silk Touch also works.[1][3]
  3. Enchant your processing line next. The Encased Fan, Millstone, Mechanical Press and Mechanical Mixer can take Efficiency, and the Crushing Wheel can too. With Efficiency they process items faster.[1][3]
  4. Enchant the Mechanical Saw if you cut wood. Efficiency raises its item-processing speed, and a Silk Touch saw can fell trees.[3]
  5. Enchant the Mechanical Harvester for farming. Fortune can yield more crops.[1][3]

Good to know

The Crushing Wheel works in pairs. Its pulverizing speed depends on the combined enchantment levels of both wheels, so enchant both of them to get the full benefit.[3]

The mod also works with enchantments from other mods. The project page gives a smelting enchantment from Majrusz's Enchantments as an example.[1]

Tip: The enchantment glint on machines in the world is an experimental feature. If you use shaders and see visual problems, the project page recommends installing Iris & Flywheel Compatibility.[1]

How does Create: Enchantable Machinery work?

6 parts

Create: Enchantable Machinery lets you apply vanilla-style enchantments to certain Create machines. Enchanting a machine makes it faster or more capable, and you can still see what it carries by wearing Engineers' Goggles. The mod adds no new machines of its own. It upgrades the ones you already use.[1][3]

How you enchant machines

The tool-like machines (Mechanical Drill, Saw and Harvester) are enchanted like other tools, with an enchanting table or an anvil. The project page also says you can enchant blocks using the enchantment table.[1][3]

Once a machine is enchanted, put on Engineers' Goggles and look at it to read the applied enchantments. Every machine in the mod supports this.[3]

What each machine gains

  • Mechanical Drill: Efficiency increases its mining speed, and Silk Touch works too. It can take any enchantment applicable to mining tools. The project page lists Efficiency, Fortune, Silk Touch and other pickaxe enchantments.[1][3]
  • Mechanical Saw: Efficiency increases how efficiently it processes items. Enchantments also apply to logging, and a Silk Touch saw can fell trees. The project page lists Efficiency, Fortune and Silk Touch for it.[1][3]
  • Mechanical Harvester: Fortune enchantments can yield more crops, and Silk Touch effects can be applied.[1][3]
  • Mechanical Plough: Efficiency increases its mining speed.[1][3]
  • Mechanical Roller: Efficiency lets it break blocks faster.[3]
  • Encased Fan: Efficiency lets it process items faster.[1][3]
  • Millstone: Efficiency lets it process items faster.[1][3]
  • Mechanical Press: Efficiency lets it process items faster.[1][3]
  • Mechanical Mixer: Efficiency lets it process items faster.[1][3]
  • Spout: Efficiency lets it fill items with liquids faster.[3]

Crushing Wheels work as a pair

Crushing Wheels take Efficiency enchantments and pulverize items faster. The speed bonus depends on the combined enchantment levels of both wheels, so enchant both of them to get the full effect. The project page also lists Silk Touch as applicable to the Crushing Wheel.[1][3]

Stress impact in this pack

The pack's common config sets the stress impact of the enchantable machines. The Crushing Wheel and the Mechanical Press are the heaviest at 8 each, so plan your kinetic network around them.[4]

The pack's config file lists no stress entries for the Harvester, Plough, Roller or Spout. The sources don't say how those are handled.[4]

Enchantment glint

The pack leaves the glint on enchanted blocks switched on with renderGlint set to true. The mod's authors call the in-world glint an experimental feature. If you run shaders and hit problems, they recommend installing the Iris & Flywheel Compatibility mod.[1][5]

Other mods' enchantments

The mod works with enchantments from other mods too. The project page gives the smelting enchantment from Majrusz's Enchantments as an example. Whether any such mod is in this pack isn't confirmed by the sources.[1]

Unverified The sources contain no recipes for this mod's items and no details on multiblocks, fluid handling or automation beyond what is described above.

Which Create: Enchantable Machinery config options matter?

2 parts

This add-on has very few settings. The ones you're most likely to care about are the stress impact of each enchantable machine and one client-side visual toggle. Here's exactly how the pack sets them.[4][5]

Stress impact of enchantable machines

The common config sets a stress impact for every enchantable machine. If you're planning a kinetic setup, these are the values to check, because they decide how much load each machine puts on your network.[4]

The crushing wheel and the press are the heaviest on this list, and the encased fan is the lightest.[4]

Client visuals

In the client config, renderGlint is set to true in this pack.[5]

2 parts

FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 ships Create: Enchantable Machinery 3.6.0, and the mod was first included in FTB Skies 2 1.0.1 or earlier. I don't have any pack changelog entries for this mod, so everything below comes from the mod's own changelogs.[2]

3.6.0 (the version in this pack)

This release is all bug fixes:[6]

  • Fixed the sound playback when the enchanted spout is processing.[6]
  • Fixed the enchanted mechanical mixer not restarting after it recovers from overstress.[6]
  • Fixed the Jade block names shown for the enchanted variants.[6]
  • Fixed the silk-touch plough's snow drops and its collect-or-drop handling.[6]

Earlier releases

  • 3.4.3: added support for Create v6.0.7.[7]
  • 3.4.2: a bug fix for a reported issue (#130). The changelog doesn't say what the issue was.[8]
