What is ViesCraft Machines?
ViesCraft Machines is one of the mods bundled into this pack. The pack ships version 1.5.0, and the jar file name (viescraftmachines-1.18.2-1.5.0.jar) shows it's the 1.18.2 build. The pack's mod list says it was first included in this pack or an earlier version.[1]
That's all I can confirm about it right now. I don't have a description of the mod's machines, its recipes, or its configs from this pack, so I won't guess at what it does or who it suits best.[1]
Unverified Where ViesCraft Machines fits in this pack's progression is unconfirmed. Nothing I have shows it on the ATM Star path or tied to any quest, so don't count on the questbook to guide you through it.
How do you get started with ViesCraft Machines?
5 parts
This mod adds various machines to the game, and everything you do with it starts from one material: Machine Parts. Almost every recipe in the mod runs through it, so that's where we begin.[2][3]
First, get Machine Parts
In this pack you make Machine Parts by smelting a Machine Parts Mold in a furnace. Craft the mold first, then smelt it.[2]

The mold needs a Xegonite Shard. The mod even has an advancement for finding one. If you build up a stock of parts, you can also compress them into a Xegonite Block and turn the block back into parts later.[2][3]

Next, make a Logic Circuit
The Logic Circuit is the basic circuit used in various machine systems. It feeds into instruction circuits, construction kits, detailing kits and the Ignition Key.[2][3]

Pick a machine type and build its chassis
Each machine type has its own Instruction Circuit, which gives machines their ability: flying is aerial travel, ground is terrestrial travel, sea is sea travel, and hauler is for hauling heavy loads. Each circuit goes into the matching Machine Chassis. Here is the ground version as an example, and the flying, hauler and sea versions follow the same pattern.[2][3]

Construction kits
The Construction Kit (Cloth), Construction Kit (Metal) and Construction Kit (Panel) are all described as required for machine construction, and they are used for all machine types. Each one is built on a Kit Framework, so make that first. Both recipes are shown below.[2][3]

Fuel and the Workbench
The Machine Pellet is described as an efficient machine fuel source. The Machine Workbench is also craftable from the early materials.[2][3]

How does ViesCraft Machines work?
4 parts
ViesCraft Machines isn't about stationary factory blocks. It adds rideable machines that you build, maintain and customize yourself. The mod's advancements cover flying, ground, hauler, sea and underwater machines, so those are the vehicle types to expect.[3]
Machine types and instruction circuits
What a machine can do comes from its instruction circuit. The flying circuit gives aerial travel, ground gives terrestrial travel, hauler lets a machine haul heavy loads, and sea gives sea travel. The mod's text also describes an underwater circuit for underwater travel.[3]
The flying, ground, hauler and sea types each have their own circuit recipe and their own chassis recipe. Everything starts with Machine Parts, which the mod describes as used in machine related items. The basic Logic Circuit is used in various machine systems, and the Adaptive Circuit is an advanced circuit formatted for expanding machine capabilities.[2][3]

Building a machine
A machine isn't finished when you craft the chassis. You unfold it in the world and finish it with a tool, following these steps:[3]
- Craft the chassis for the machine type you want, for example Machine Chassis (Ground) or Machine Chassis (Sea).[2]
- Throw the chassis item to unfold it.[3]
- Use a Machine Wrench on the unfolded chassis to complete construction. The chassis tooltip also lists the Cloth, Metal and Panel construction kits.[3]
The construction kits (Construction Kit (Cloth), Construction Kit (Metal) and Construction Kit (Panel)) are required for machine construction, come with instructions, and are used for all machine types. They are built on a Kit Framework, which is made from Machine Parts.[2][3]

The Cloth and Panel construction kits have their own recipes in the pack.

Durability, energy and fuel
Machines track durability, energy and an engine that can be repaired. Keeping durability up matters, because the service kits describe repairing a machine as a way to prevent explosions.[3]
- Small Service Kit (Durability) restores 25 durability to a machine.[3]
- Large Service Kit (Durability) restores 100 durability to a machine.[3]
- *WIP* Large Service Kit (Energy) restores 100 energy to a machine. It is labelled *WIP* in its name, so treat it as work in progress.[2][3]

For fuel there is the Machine Pellet, described as a machine efficient fuel source. It is crafted from the Xegonite Shard, a light and sturdy material sometimes found with other metals.[2][3]

This is the mod's own recipe, unchanged by the pack.
Customizing and controlling access
Detailing kits change how a machine looks. Detailing Kit (Cloth), Detailing Kit (Frame), Detailing Kit (Metal) and Detailing Kit (Panel) each change the matching texture on a machine (Cloth, Frame, Metal or Panel).[3]
Machines can be locked and have owners. An Ignition Key is programmed with Shift + Right-Click and overrides locked machines for the programmed player. A Name Changer renames a machine, and a Radio Expansion adds the Radio feature to one. A Dismounter tool lets you left-click a mounted entity to dismount it.[3]
How do you progress through ViesCraft Machines?
5 parts
Unverified No quests in this pack involve this mod, it is not on the ATM Star quest path, and no in-jar guidebook was found, so the sources here show no quest-driven order. The order below is read from the in-pack recipes only.
The recipes show a clear dependency chain, which makes a natural progression: Machine Parts first, then circuits, then tools and the workbench, then chassis, then kits and fuel.[2]
Start with Machine Parts
Most items in this mod are built from Machine Parts, so start here. You make them by smelting a Machine Parts Mold. Craft the mold first, then smelt it.[2]

Machine Parts can also be packed into an Xegonite Block, and the block can be turned back into Machine Parts with a shapeless recipe. That is handy for storage.[2]

Circuits
The Logic Circuit is the gateway to most later items. The pack changed this recipe, so use the version below and not what you may remember from the mod's defaults.[2]

The Adaptive Circuit is the next step up, made from a Logic Circuit.[2]

Recipe id: viescraftmachines:circuit_adaptive
Workbench and tools
Craft the Machine Workbench early. The handy tools come from the same stage: the Machine Wrench, the Ignition Key, and the dismounters Dismounter and Dismounter (Player). Of these, the Ignition Key is the one that needs a Logic Circuit.[2]

Instruction circuits and chassis
Machines come in Ground, Sea, Flying and Hauler variants. Each variant has its own instruction circuit, and the matching machine chassis is crafted from that circuit and Machine Parts. They all follow the same pattern, so here is Ground as the example.[2]

The rest work the same way: Instruction Circuit (Sea) leads to Machine Chassis (Sea), Instruction Circuit (Flying) to Machine Chassis (Flying), and Instruction Circuit (Hauler) to Machine Chassis (Hauler).[2]
Kits and fuel
The kits all build on the Kit Framework, which is crafted from Machine Parts.[2]

- Construction kits: Construction Kit (Cloth), Construction Kit (Metal) and Construction Kit (Panel). Each needs a Logic Circuit.[2]
- Detailing kits: Detailing Kit (Cloth), Detailing Kit (Frame), Detailing Kit (Metal) and Detailing Kit (Panel). The Panel one is the odd one out, because it needs an Adaptive Circuit while the others use a Logic Circuit.[2]
- Service kits: Small Service Kit (Durability) and Large Service Kit (Durability), which need no circuit. There is also *WIP* Large Service Kit (Energy), which is marked WIP in its name.[2]
