What is Storage Drawers?
2 parts
Storage Drawers is a bulk storage mod built around keeping your most frequently used items within easy reach. It borrows ideas from Jabba and Bibliocraft and is meant to complement those mods rather than replace them. The result is a compact, good-looking storage setup.[1]
This pack includes Storage Drawers 10.2.1, using the 1.18.2 build of the mod.[2]
How it works
There is no traditional slotted inventory here. You interact by clicking on the drawers on the front of the block, and each click acts on the drawer you hit. If you've used Jabba, it will feel familiar.[1]
- Right-click: insert the full stack in your hand into the drawer, or a partial stack if the drawer fills up.[1]
- Double-right-click: insert all compatible stacks from your inventory into the drawer, or until it fills.[1]
- Left-click: remove a single item from the drawer.[1]
- Shift+left-click: remove a full stack from the drawer.[1]
- Shift+right-click with an empty hand: open a UI showing exact item counts, where you can also manage applied upgrades.[1]
Where it fits in progression
Unverified The sources for this guide don't show any quests involving Storage Drawers, any ATM Star path involvement, or an in-jar guidebook. We can't say where the mod fits in the pack's progression.
How do you get started with Storage Drawers?
4 parts
Storage Drawers is all about keeping the items you use most within convenient reach. Here is the order I'd go in when you first start building your storage setup in the pack.[1]
Step 1: Make a drawer
Everything starts with a drawer. In the pack, drawers come in 1x1, 1x2 and 2x2 layouts, in a full version and a half version, with a set for each wood type (oak, birch, acacia, jungle, dark oak and crimson all have recipes). A good first pick is Oak Drawers 1x1, and this is the in-pack recipe.[3]

If you want the bigger layout, Oak Drawers 2x2 has its own recipe.[3]

Step 2: Learn the controls
A drawer has no traditional slotted inventory. You click one of the drawers on the front to interact with it, and these are the controls:[1]
- Right-click inserts the full stack in your hand, or a partial stack if the drawer fills up.[1]
- Double-right-click inserts all compatible stacks from your inventory, or until the drawer fills.[1]
- Left-click removes a single item.[1]
- Shift+left-click removes a full stack.[1]
- Shift+right-click with an empty hand opens a UI where you can see exact item counts and manage applied upgrades.[1]
If you're coming from Jabba, the shift-click behavior is reversed. The mod config can reverse the controls to match Jabba if you prefer that.[1]
Step 3: Upgrade your capacity
Once a drawer fills up, storage upgrades are the next thing to make. A storage upgrade increases storage by a multiple of the base value. The tiers run from Storage Upgrade (I) (I), then Storage Upgrade (II) (II), Storage Upgrade (III) (III), Storage Upgrade (IV) (IV) and finally Storage Upgrade (V) (V).[3][4]

Step 4: Add handy extras
- Drawer Key locks and unlocks drawers. Hold it in your off-hand to lock newly-placed drawers.[3][4]
- Illumination Upgrade illuminates drawer labels in the dark.[3][4]
- Fill Level Upgrade shows how full the storage is.[3][4]
- Conversion Upgrade auto-converts compatible items.[3][4]

How does Storage Drawers work?
7 parts
Storage Drawers doesn't use a traditional slotted inventory. Everything is click-based: you click one of the drawers on the front of the block, and that click interacts with that drawer.[1]
Using a drawer
- Right-click: insert the full stack in your hand, or a partial stack if the drawer fills up.[1]
- Double-right-click: insert all compatible stacks from your inventory, until the drawer fills.[1]
- Left-click: remove a single item.[1]
- Shift+left-click: remove a full stack.[1]
- Shift+right-click with an empty hand: open a UI showing exact item counts and your applied upgrades.[1]
Capacity
Capacity comes from a basic unit of storage. In this pack General.baseStackStorage is 4 stacks per unit. A 1x1 drawer holds 8 units, a 1x2 drawer holds 4 units and a 2x2 drawer holds 2 units. Half-depth drawers hold half those amounts.[6]
Drawers come in full and half variants in 1x1, 1x2 and 2x2 layouts, for example Acacia Drawers 1x1. In game, a drawer's tooltip tells you how many stacks it holds per drawer.[3][4]

Storage upgrades
Storage upgrades multiply a drawer's capacity. The pack sets the five levels to these multipliers: StorageUpgrades.level1Mult is 2, StorageUpgrades.level2Mult is 4, StorageUpgrades.level3Mult is 8, StorageUpgrades.level4Mult is 16 and StorageUpgrades.level5Mult is 32. If you stack several upgrades in one drawer, their multipliers are added together before they are applied, not multiplied against each other.[6]
The tooltip for a storage upgrade reads "Increases storage by N times base value".[4]
Other upgrades, from the mod's tooltips:[4]
- One-stack upgrade: reduces base storage to a single stack.[4]
- Void upgrade: destroys excess items.[4]
- Creative storage upgrade: near-infinite storage. Creative vending upgrade: unlimited item withdrawal.[4]
- Redstone upgrade: emits a signal for total storage. The max redstone upgrade does so for the most full slot, and the min redstone upgrade for the least full slot.[4]
- Fill level upgrade: shows how full storage is. Illumination upgrade: illuminates drawer labels in the dark.[4]
- Conversion Upgrade: auto-converts compatible items. Item conversion is enabled in this pack through General.enableItemConversion.[3][4][6]

Controllers
For the Drawer Controller, General.controllerRange sets how far away a drawer can be connected on the X, Y or Z axis. This pack sets it to 50, and the allowed range is 1 to 75. That's a very large range, but it won't reach past the chunk load distance.[3][6]

There is also a Drawer Controller Slave with its own recipe.[3]

Compacting drawers
Compacting Drawers use compacting rules in the format "item1, item2, n", which turn 1 of the first item into n of the second. The pack's General.compactingRules lists one rule: 1 clay into 4 clay balls.[3][6]
Keys and display
- Drawer Key: locks and unlocks drawers. Hold it in your off-hand to lock newly placed drawers.[3][4]
- Concealment Key (the Concealment Key): shows or hides item labels.[3][4]
- Quantify key: shows or hides stored quantity labels. Personal key: protects access from other players.[4]
On the client, item labels stop rendering beyond Render.labelRenderDistance blocks, which is 25 in this pack. Quantity numbers start to fade at Render.quantityFadeDistance blocks (4) and stop rendering at Render.quantityRenderDistance blocks (10).[5]
Extended drawer info is switched on for both WAILA (Integration.enableWaila) and The One Probe (Integration.enableTheOneProbe) if either is installed. With Integration.wailaStackRemainder on, which it is in this pack, quantities show as NxS + R by stack size instead of a plain count.[5][6]
Automation
The pack has General.enableSidedInput and General.enableSidedOutput both set to true.[6]
How do you progress through Storage Drawers?
5 parts
Here is a sensible order for working through Storage Drawers, built from the in-pack recipes and the tier numbers in the item names.[3]
Tier 1: the drawers themselves
You start with the drawer blocks. Each wood type has a full version and a half version, and each comes in 1x1, 1x2 and 2x2 layouts. The wood types are oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, crimson and warped. Oak Drawers 1x1 is the simplest place to begin, and Oak Drawers 2x2 gives you the 2x2 layout.[3]

Every wood type has its own recipe that follows the same pattern.
Half drawers such as Oak Half Drawers 1x1 have their own recipes too. Each wood type also has a matching trim, such as Oak Trim.[3]
Tier 2: the Upgrade Template
The Upgrade Template is the base for the upgrades and keys in this pack. Its recipe needs a drawer, so the basic drawers are your gateway to everything else.[3]

Tier 3: the storage upgrades
The storage upgrades are numbered I to V in their names, and each tier has its own recipe in the pack. They go in this order:[3]
- Storage Upgrade (I) is Storage Upgrade (I).[3]
- Storage Upgrade (II) is Storage Upgrade (II).[3]
- Storage Upgrade (III) is Storage Upgrade (III).[3]
- Storage Upgrade (IV) is Storage Upgrade (IV).[3]
- Storage Upgrade (V) is Storage Upgrade (V).[3]

If you want to go the other way, the Storage Downgrade (Storage Downgrade) has its own recipe.[3]
Tier 4: utility upgrades
These upgrades are also built from the Upgrade Template. They add extras instead of raw capacity, and they all have recipes in the pack:[3]
- Void Upgrade[3]
- Fill Level Upgrade[3]
- Illumination Upgrade[3]
- Conversion Upgrade[3]
- Redstone Upgrade, Min Redstone Upgrade and Max Redstone Upgrade[3]
Last tier: controllers, compacting and keys
Once you have a drawer or two, the networking and special blocks are next: the Drawer Controller, the Drawer Controller Slave and Compacting Drawers.[3]

Which Storage Drawers config options matter?
5 parts
Storage Drawers has two config files in this pack: a common one that shapes how drawers behave, and a client one that only affects what you see and how your clicks work. Here are the options you're most likely to care about, with the exact values the pack uses.[5][6]
Unverified The pack files list current values but don't say which ones differ from the mod's own defaults. The one exception is the controller range, covered below. Treat every other value as 'what this pack uses', not as a confirmed change.
Drawer capacity
General.baseStackStorage is set to 4. That's the number of item stacks in one basic unit of storage. 1x1 drawers hold 8 units, 1x2 drawers hold 4 units, 2x2 drawers hold 2 units, and half-depth drawers hold half of those amounts.[6]
Storage upgrades multiply that capacity. The pack's multipliers go up level by level, and when you stack several upgrades their multipliers are added together before being applied.[6]
- StorageUpgrades.level1Mult: 2[6]
- StorageUpgrades.level2Mult: 4[6]
- StorageUpgrades.level3Mult: 8[6]
- StorageUpgrades.level4Mult: 16[6]
- StorageUpgrades.level5Mult: 32[6]
Controller range
General.controllerRange is 50, and it accepts values from 1 to 75. It decides how far away a drawer can be connected to a controller on the X, Y or Z axis. The config notes that 50 is the default, so the pack leaves it alone. It gives the controller a very large range, but not beyond the chunk load distance.[6]
Compacting drawers
General.compactingRules holds one rule in this pack: 1 Clay converts into 4 Clay Ball. General.enableExtraCompactingRules is turned on.[6]
Other common toggles
- General.enableSidedInput and General.enableSidedOutput are both true.[6]
- General.enableUI and General.enableItemConversion are both true.[6]
- General.debugTrace is false.[6]
- Integration.wailaStackRemainder is true, so quantities show as NxS + R (by stack size) instead of a raw count. Integration.wailaRespectQuantifyKey is false.[6]
Client options
General.invertShift is false. That means the standard controls apply: left-click removes a single item, and Shift+Left-click removes a full stack. Set it to true if you'd rather have the Jabba-style behavior.[1][5]
Rendering distances are measured in blocks. Item labels stop rendering at 25 (Render.labelRenderDistance). Quantity numbers stop rendering at 10 (Render.quantityRenderDistance) and begin fading out at 4 (Render.quantityFadeDistance).[5]
Extended drawer info is enabled for both WAILA (Integration.enableWaila) and The One Probe (Integration.enableTheOneProbe), if either is present.[5]
