Ice and Fire
86 quests, with the items each asks for and where they come from in All the Mods 10.
- Taming Ice and Fire Mobs
There's dozens of Pets and Tamed Mobs within Ice and Fire. Thankfully almost all can be controlled in the same way! With a Stick! By Right Clicking on a Tamed Mob with a Stick we can change their instructions. All have different instructions but the list is: Sitting/Staying, Wandering, Patrolling, and Following/Escorting. Sitting will keep the Mob where it is. They won't Move or Fight other Mobs unless Hurt where they will stop Sitting. Wandering will let the Mob move freely around where you are at. If the Tamed Mob likes to Attack Mobs, then it will do so when Wandering. Patrolling will have the Mob walk only in a certain distance from its set Home. So like Wandering just not around you, instead it is around its Home! Following will have the Mob follow you wherever you go! You can set a Tamed Mobs Home by Shift Right Clicking them with a Stick.
Asks for:Stick
- Chain
Leads can be helpful, but they are very Weak! Why not get an upgrade? Chain Links will Tie to Mobs (including dangerous ones like Dragons) and can be used to move them. Or restrain them like Leads by attaching the Chain Link to a Wall. Yes, like a Stone Wall! No matter how much the Mob tries to escape the Link won't break! If you do use it on a Dragon though, make sure your walls cannot be broken by Dragons...
Needs: Taming Ice and Fire MobsAsks for:Chain Line
- Rotten Egg
Sometimes Chicken Eggs may be special. Like having 2 Yolks or Hatching 4 Chickens! Or Hatching Dinosaurs! Wait... what? Sometimes Chickens will lay Rotten Eggs. Rotten Eggs can be thrown to Hatch a Baby Cockatrice! These Baby Cockatrices will automatically be Tamed and will need to grow up.
Asks for:Rotten Egg
- Dragons and their Stages
Dragons are only the most dangerous and important Monsters in all of Ice and Fire! The Element of Dragon determines what Biome they spawn in. They have different Stages (1 through 5). These determine their Health, Damage, Drops, and Spawns. We'll need to find, kill, and even Tame some in order to get some of the best Loot in ATM10! Try finding some deceased Dragons first in order to get their Bones. Stages 1-3 will spawn in Roosts while Stage 4 and 5 spawn in Caves. Only 4 and 5 will Drop Eggs. The higher the Stage, the darker their Colors and bigger their Size! Stage 1: will have from 50 Hearts to 350 Hearts as well as 2 Armor Points to 6! Stage 1 will only be able to Bite their opponents, they can't use their Elemental Breath. Stage 2: have 350 Hearts to 600 Hearts. They can also have 6 Armor Points to 10 Armor Points. Now they can use Elemental Breath to Fight. Stage 3: can have 600 Hearts to 900 Hearts with 10 to 12 Armor Points. Now these Dragons will have all their Attacks from Elemental Breath to their Elemental Charges. Stage 4: will keep all the same Abilities and Attacks as well as now Dropping Eggs. Stage 4 will have between 900 Hearts all the way to 1200! Plus an additional 12 to 16 Armor Points. Stage 5: only the biggest and most powerful Dragons. These can have 1200 to 1500+ Hearts! With 16 to 20 Armor Points. Basically wearing Netherite Armor, because they are that powerful!
Asks for:Dragon Bone
- Stage 4-5 Ice Dragon
The toughest of Ice Dragons are the ones who spawn in Ice Dragon Caves, these are the highest Stages at Stage 4 and 5! Their Ice Dragon Caves are massive with lots of pointy and Icey Blocks, so be careful with walking around. Oh yeah plus an Ice Dragon, that one takes up the most room! Don't worry they won't be Flying or Swimming here, just Fighting! These Elemental Attacks do even more Damage and Freeze even more Blocks and Mobs. As well as their normal Attacks doing much more Damage than before. And if the Damage isn't bad enough, they also has hundreds of Hearts and up to 20 Armor Points! These bad boys aren't kidding around! If the Dragon you slay is Stage 4 or 5, is Female, and you didn't use Empty Bottles you might get an Ice Dragon Egg. These can be used with...

Dragonegg Sapphire,
Dragonegg Silver,
Dragonegg White
- Stage 4-5 Lightning Dragon
Are you sure there's a Dragon here? All I see is Electric Blue/Amethyst/Copper/Black? Wait... that is the Stage 4 or 5 Dragon within the Lightning Dragon Cave! The Cave might be huge, but the Dragon is almost the same size! This means the Dragon won't be Flying around too much, but that does mean it will focus more on its Attacks. Yeah, judging by the fact that Lightning Dragons do the most base Damage, and now they do even more Damage... you might be screwed. Take your time with fighting them, you can regen and respawn! They can't! When you Kill them and you didn't use Bottles on them, they might Drop a Lightning Dragon Egg. Oh yeah they have to be a Female for that as well... do I really need to tell you that only Females lay Eggs?
Needs: Dragons and their StagesAsks for:Dragonegg Amethyst,
Dragonegg Black,
Dragonegg Copper,
Dragonegg Electric
- Leave your Egg in the Rain
Ice Dragons need Ice, Fire Dragons need Fire, what does the Lightning Dragon Egg need to be left outside in the Rain! Oh wait it actually does? Just leave the Lightning Dragon Egg out on the Ground exposed to the Sky, and when it Rains it will begin Hatching. After 6 Minutes of constant Rain, Lightning will Strike the Egg and the Lightning Dragon will Hatch. The Lightning can start a Fire, which can Hurt the Baby, so you want to be careful with that!
Needs: Stage 4-5 Lightning Dragon - Lightning Dragon Cave
I can tell from the spark in the Air, this isn't an Amethyst Geode, it is a Lightning Dragons Cave. More specifically a Stage 4 and 5 Lightning Dragon. These Caves are full of Copper and Amethyst and Chests for tons of Loot. As well as Monsters and the Dragon. Yeah, it is very hard to forget those!
Needs: Dragons and their Stages - Lightning DragonForge
Hope you got Rubber Gloves to Build this 3x3x3 Multiblock! You don't? Oh well! First, place down a cross of Lightning DragonForge Bricks with Dragon Bone Blocks next to them. Then, place a Lightning DragonForge Core Block in the middle. Next to it, place a Lightning DragonForge Aperature and fill in the rest with DragonForge Bricks! The last layer looks familiar... Probably because it is just the first layer! Some Items will need to be Zapped with Energy to be forced together! No, not FE, AE, or MF... what will we need? So why not use the Magic of Dragons! With the Lightning DragonForge! Place the Items into the DragonForge and Zap it with the Lightning Attacks of the Lightning Dragon. The Dragon can be Tamed or Wild, but Wild aren't the nicest or calmest... so let's make sure they can't run off by using Chain Links!
Needs: Leave your Egg in the RainAsks for:Block of Dragon Bones,
Dragonforge Lightning Brick,
Dragonforge Lightning Core,
Dragonforge Lightning Aperture
- Ice Bucket Challenge!
Ice Dragon Eggs are the opposite from Fire Dragons. Instead of needing the warm loving embrace of Fire, they need the cold desolute isolation of Ice! Throw an Ice Dragon Egg in some Water and it will Freeze the Water. After 6 Minutes it will Hatch from the Egg and Ice! Don't worry they can get out of both without assistance.
Needs: Stage 4-5 Ice DragonAsks for:Water Bucket
- Stage 1-3 Fire Dragon
Stage 1 through 3 Fire Dragons will Spawn in Fire Dragon Roosts. Fire Dragons will come in these Colors: Red, Emerald, Bronze, and Grey. They also have 4 Horns on their Head and a club like Tail. Fire Dragons can be found at Day Flying around Smoking all Mobs near their Nests. Once you come close, they will Attack you. So what should you expect them to do? Their Fire Attacks is Fire Breath which only Stage 2 and above can use. This one will Shoot Flames at you Burning whatever is in its way. They also have a Fireball Attack this is like the Ghast Fireball... just much worse! Only Stage 3 and above can use them. If you get close enough they might also Smack you with their Tail, Bite you, or thrash you around in their Mouth after Biting you. Want to try running? They'll Fly after you. Want to try hiding? They can Break Blocks with their Body! Sounds like you'll need to Fight! Early Stages Elemental Attacks aren't the biggest worry, rather it is their ability to Fly and follow you that is the worst. Either bring some way of preventing their escape like Chain Links, or use Projectiles to Attack them! Once you slay the Fire Dragon it will lay unmoving on the ground as a Corpse. Right Click with an Empty Hand to remove its Scales. Then, it will remove its Flesh and Heart. Or you can use an Empty Bottle to instead of getting Scales, Flesh, and Heart you'll fill each Bottle with Fire Dragon Blood. Once all of it is removed it will turn into the Skeleton of a Dragon. Just like the ones in the Wild, Right Click with an Empty Hand to take down the Bones and later Skull.
Needs: Dragons and their StagesAsks for:Fire Dragon Blood
- Fire Dragon Cave
Deep within the ground we can find a giantic Charred Cave. One dozens of Blocks long, wide, and high. Filled to the brim with Gold and Chests. Because of the Dark more Mobs may spawn within. But within the Cave will lie the massive Fire Dragon. The same exact ones that wrecked Villages in the Dark Ages. One more powerful than any above the surface. These are the Stage 4 and 5 Fire Dragons. They are what nightmares are made of.
Needs: Dragons and their Stages - Stage 1-3 Ice Dragon
Stage 1 through 3 Ice Dragons will Spawn in Ice Dragon Roosts. Ice Dragons come in Blue, White, Sapphire, and Silver Colors. They also have 6 Horns on their Head and another on their Nose. Plus a fan like Tail. Ice Dragons can be found Flying or even Swimming around their Ice Dragon Roosts in the Snowy Biomes. When they found an intruder they will use a dozen different terrifying Attacks to deal with you. Like... Their Icey Breath which will Freeze Players and Blocks in their way. Only Stage 2 and above Ice Dragons can use Icey Breath. If that isn't enough, they can also Shoot an Iceball at you. These will explode and Freeze every Mob nearby! Thankfully only Stage 3 and above can use this Attack. They don't just use Elemental Attacks though, they can also Tail Whip you, Bite you, or mangle your Body with their Mouth! Plus Flapping their Wings to throw you back from them. Their Icey Attacks can Freeze and Damage you so it is best to avoid that as much as possible. Keep your range as much as you can and don't be afraid to seek shelter. Flying Pets won't help too much if they get Frozen in the Sky! After you survived fighting the Ice Dragon and won, the Ice Dragon will become a Corpse. Try not to lose it among the Snow and Ice. Then, Right Click the Corpse with an Empty Hand and it will remove the Scales, Flesh, and Heart from the Ice Dragon. Instead of Right Clicking with an Empty Hand, why not use an Empty Bottle! This will give us Ice Dragon Blood instead of Scales or Flesh. Once all the tasty parts are removed, it will become a Dragon Skeleton. Then, you can remove the Bones and Skull, same way you got the Scales or Blood!
Needs: Dragons and their StagesAsks for:Ice Dragon Blood
- Ice DragonForge
The Ice DragonForge is a 3x3x3 Multiblock made of Ice Dragon Drops and Bricks! The first layer starts with a Cross made of Ice DragonForge Bricks. To fill in the square we'll need Dragon Bone Blocks. The second layer is more tricky. Place the Ice DragonForge Core in the dead center, with an Ice DragonForge Aperature next to it. The rest of this layer is made of just Ice DragonForge Bricks. Remember the first layer? Let's redo that, just on top now! The Ice DragonForge uses the internal insulation of Ice Dragons to Freeze Items so cold that they forge together! Whether Iron and Ice Dragon Blood to make Ice Dragon Steel or other Alloy Items! We'll need to throw those Items into the DragonForge, and then Cool it down. Wait, Blue Ice isn't enough? What's even Colder than Blue Ice? Ice Dragon Breath! We can use any Ice Dragon nearby for it, whether Tamed on its own accord or Wild and Chained up.
Needs: Ice Bucket Challenge!Asks for:Block of Dragon Bones,
Dragonforge Ice Brick,
Dragonforge Ice Core,
Dragonforge Ice Aperture
- Ice Dragonsteel
Ice Dragonsteel is made by combining Ice Dragon Blood and Iron in a Ice DragonForge. We can make Weapons with it! These will deal a ton of Damage, plus Freeze Mobs that are Hit. Along with the Weapons also comes Armor. This Armor gives a ton of Stats, and looks great! Plus it Protects us extra from the Dragons Elemental Attacks! Why just get Armor for us though? What about our Dragons too! This costs a ton more, but will give a ton of Protection for your Dragon especially against other Dragons.
Needs: Ice DragonForgeAsks for:Ice Dragonsteel Ingot
- Stage 1-3 Lightning Dragon
Stage 1 through 3 Lightning Dragons will Spawn in Lightning Dragon Roosts. They come in Electric Blue, Amethyst, Copper, and Black. Lightning Dragons have 6 Horns which are only on their Head, as well as having a Spiky Tail! Wait, these Dragons aren't awake at Daytime! Oh they are Nocturnal! They will be Sleeping during the Day and hunting during Nighttime. They just Sleep standing which can get confusing. Lightning Dragons are considered the strongest Dragons simply for the Damage they can cause to the Player. Their Elemental Attacks won't cause an Effect like Freezing or Burning, instead it will compensate with even more Damage! Their Lightning Breath will follow you wherever you are while their Lightning Ball will cause a huge Explosion! Don't worry that's not all they can do! They can also Hit you with their Spiky Tail, Bite you, rip you to shreds, and toss you back with the force of their Wings. It is best to fight Lightning Dragons at Day so there is less Mobs and they will be asleep. You'll also want lots of Armor and Resistance to tank their Damage! You Killed one? A Lightning Dragon? How? Well, if you aren't lying and they aren't just asleep they should be a Corpse now. Right Click the Lightning Dragon Corpse with an Empty Hand to take off its Scales, Flesh, and Heart. If you Right Click the Corpse with an Empty Bottle you won't get Scales, Flesh, or Hearts instead you'll get Lightning Dragon Blood. After you stripped it of its Scales or Blood it will become a Dragon Skeleton. Just Right Click the Skeleton with an Empty Hand to get the Bones and Skull from your Kill!
Needs: Dragons and their StagesAsks for:Lightning Dragon Blood
- We haven't moved yet!
The Hippocampus and Sea Serpents haven't been moved to The Other yet! They are still found within Oceans within the Overworld!
- Ice Dragon Cave
Those unfortunate enough to fall under the Ice to around Y Level 0 might come accross a terrifying and cold Cave. A Cave full of slippery Ice and Icicles pointing down at them. Of course a Cave belonging to the most powerful Ice Dragons. The Stage 4 and 5 Ice Dragons. Atleast it is also filled with Silver and Chests galore! And also Mobs including Frost Trolls...
Needs: Dragons and their Stages - Lightning Dragonsteel
Lightning Dragonsteel is made by combining Lightning Dragon Blood and Iron in a Lightning DragonForge. We can make Weapons with it! These will deal a ton of Damage, plus will Summon Lightning on every Hit.
Needs: Lightning DragonForgeAsks for:Lightning Dragonsteel Ingot
- Sea Serpents
Sea Serpents are what Sailors tell stories of. Giant Monsters deep in the Ocean leaping out of the Water and devouring dozens of men with only one bite! Sea Serpents range from a few Blocks long to over 30! Their size also increases their Health from 50 to over 250 Hearts. Their appearance remains the same besides Color and Size. All have no limbs, only Head to Body to Tail. They have quite a few Attacks depending on your Range from them. If you are close to them, they'll Bite you which will deal quite a bit of Damage! If you are far they will shoot Water Streams at you which will do Damage over time. If you are out of the Water but within Range, they might leap into the air and dive at you! That Attack will deal a ton of Damage and Knockback every Mob nearby.
Needs: We haven't moved yet! - Sea Serpent Scales and Fangs
If you are sea-worthy enough to kill a Sea Serpent they will Drop their Fangs, as well as the Scales related to their Color. The Fangs and Scales will be needed to Craft Tide Arrows and Tide Tridents but only Scales are used for Tide Guardian Armor!
Needs: Sea SerpentsAsks for:Sea Serpent Fang
- Tide Guardian Armor
Tide Guardian Armor is made from Shiny Scales and Sea Serpent Scales. The Color of Sea Serpent Scales will determine the Color of Tide Guardian Armor. And no Color mixing! The total Armor Points from the Tide Guardian Armor is 23, which is more than even Netherite! Each piece of Armor also gives you Water Breathing. Even if you use just the Boots. They also give a level of Strength for each piece of Armor worn. Full set giving Strength IV!
Needs: Sea Serpent Scales and FangsAsks for:Tide Blue Boots,
Tide Blue Chestplate,
Tide Blue Helmet,
Tide Blue Leggings,
Tide Bronze Boots,
Tide Bronze Chestplate
- Tide Arrows
With Sea Serpent Scales and Fangs plus a Stick we can make a Tide Arrow. These work just like normal Arrows but won't be slowed down by Water.
Needs: Sea Serpent Scales and FangsAsks for:Tide Arrow
- Tide Trident
Tide Tridents are exactly like Tridents, just better in every way! These are Craftable, have more Damage, and pierce Mobs! And they still take normal Trident Enchants. What more could you want!
Needs: Sea Serpent Scales and FangsAsks for:Tide Trident
- Hippocampus
Hippocampus are basically what we wish Seahorses were like. They have Heads and front Hooves like Horses while their back is more like Fish. Their whole Bodies are also covered in Scales and Fins. They come in Red, Orange, Yellow, Light Green, Green, Light Blue, and Blue! Hippocampus have 20 Hearts and are entirely Passive. They won't fight back! On Death they will Drop Shiny Scales and very rarely their Hippocampus Fin.
Needs: We haven't moved yet! - Manatee Hippocampus Taming
Hippocampus can be Tamed! By Feeding it Kelp. Once Tamed, we can Right Click them with a Saddle, to be able to Ride them like a Horse. They can Crawl slowly on land or Swim quickly Underwater. When Underwater on their Back, you'll get Water Breathing! They can even Jump! Just not too high...
Needs: Hippocampus, Taming Ice and Fire MobsAsks for:Kelp
- Hippocampus Slapper
With a Hippocampus Fin and a Stick, we can Craft the greatest Weapon in all of Modded Minecraft! The Hippocampus Slapper! No, it won't do the most Damage... but it will inflict the Mobs hit with it with Slowness III and Nausea III! Okay, okay it isn't the greatest, it is more of a joke Weapon... but still!
Needs: HippocampusAsks for:Hippocampus Slapper
- Stage 4-5 Fire Dragon
Stage 4 and 5 Fire Dragons are found sealed deep below the surface safely within their Caves. Only the dumbest would be willing to venture down there and fight them! The Fire Dragon Caves are massive Structures but are still closed in. This means the Dragon can't easily Fly away and escape... but neither can you. If you want to fight these massive Dragons you will need the best Gear, Enchants, and Potions. Especially ones to prevent the Burning from Killing you! Their Attacks do more Damage as well as their Elemental Attacks spreading and Burning even more than before! Not to forget them having the same Health as a Warden and Armor Points that match full Netherite! If you do Kill a Stage 4 or 5 Female Fire Dragon (and don't use Bottles on it) it might Drop an Egg. These Dragon Eggs are much better than Vanilla Dragon Egg because...
Needs: Dragons and their StagesAsks for:Dragonegg Bronze,
Dragonegg Gray,
Dragonegg Green,
Dragonegg Red
- Cooking your Egg
Hatching a Fire Dragon is pretty easy. SET THE EGG ON FIRE! Easiest way is Placing the Egg on Netherrack then setting it on Fire with Flint and Steel. After 6 Minutes the Egg will Hatch and your Baby Fire Dragon will Spawn Tamed to you! And no, the Baby won't take Damage from Fire, it is a Fire Dragon!
Needs: Stage 4-5 Fire DragonAsks for:Netherrack
- Commanding your Dragon
The Dragon is now ours! How do we use it? First, we'll need some Tools! The Dragon Command Staff, to give it instructions. The Dragon Horn to hold and transport Dragons. And the Dragon Flute to call Flying Dragons down. You can Shift Right Click Dragon to view its Inventory and UI. Here we see its Age, Health, Stage and change its Inventory. What Armor it is wearing and if it is wearing Banners! We can use the Dragon Command Staff on them to change if they are Escorting, Wandering, or Staying. Escorting means they will follow you and Fight with you. Wandering means they will Fly around a certain area, Atacking any Monsters within it. Staying just means it will Sit where it is and do nothing! The Dragon Horn can be used on a Dragon to put them in it. Here they will safely and compactly be held in the Item where you can see its Age, Gender, and Name. The last Item, the Dragon Flute is used for all Tamed Flying Mobs. If they are Flying when you use the Flute, they will come down to the ground.
Needs: Cooking your Egg, Ice Bucket Challenge!, Leave your Egg in the RainAsks for:Dragon Bone Flute,
Dragon Horn,
Dragon Command Staff
- Fire DragonForge
The Fire DragonForge is a 3x3x3 Multiblock of Dragon Parts! First layer starts with a Cross of Fire DragonForge Bricks. Then, fill the corners with Dragon Bone Blocks. Second layer will have the Fire DragonForge Core in the center with a DragonForge Aperature next to it within the middle of a wall. And fill the rest of the layer with Fire DragonForge Bricks. Last layer is a repeat of the first layer! The Fire DragonForge is a Multiblock. Wait, I thought we were supposed to be Fighting and playing with Monsters? Once it is Built we can place our Items in the Fire DragonForge. Either Iron and Fire Dragon Blood or Alloy Materials. Then, we will need some Heat! Preferably from a Fire Dragon! We can use a Tamed Fire Dragon which is nearby to Heat it, or Chain up a Wild Fire Dragon near the DragonForge. Wild or Tamed, the Fire Breath will Hurt if you walk through it.
Needs: Cooking your EggAsks for:Block of Dragon Bones,
Dragonforge Fire Brick,
Dragonforge Fire Core,
Dragonforge Fire Aperture
- Fire Dragonsteel
Fire Dragonsteel is made by combining Fire Dragon Blood and Iron in a Fire DragonForge. We can make Weapons with it! These will deal a ton of Damage, plus will Knockback Mobs and set them on Fire.
Needs: Fire DragonForgeAsks for:Fire Dragonsteel Ingot
- Feeding your Dragon
Tamed Dragons will Grow over time. Increasing in Stage, Hearts, Armor, and more! It will take Time... and we don't like that. Make some Dragon Meal then! When a Tamed Dragon Eats some Dragon Meal they will Age a few Days in just a Bite!
Needs: Cooking your Egg, Ice Bucket Challenge!, Leave your Egg in the RainAsks for:Dragon Meal
- Ice and Fire
Welcome to Ice and Fire! Now in The Other This Mod adds countless Monsters and Mobs, all either related to some form of Mythology or some are entirely unique to the Mod! You'll find these Monsters all over The Other, but be careful, not all of them are friendly!
- Ancient Warped Forest
The Ancient Warped Forest is another Forest within The Other. It has a Warped Nylium floor with Netherrack below it. Instead of Warped Trees/Mushrooms/whatever, it has Soul Trees!
Needs: Ice and Fire - The Hydra
Hydras are some of the toughest Ice and Fire has to offer. They can be Green, Teal, or Red. All are 3 Headed Lizards with no arms or legs. Hydras have over 450 Hearts but only 2 Armor Points. They have quite a few Attacks with the simplest being a Bite. They can also use Poison Breath in front of them, similar to Dragon's Breath. The most dangerous is when they use their Venom, which will make their other Attacks now inflict Poison! When enough Damage is dealt, Hydras will lose a Head. Unless they are on Fire, the Head will spawn 2 more in its place. The more Heads, the more Damage they can deal... let's prevent that! Because of that Regeneration they also gain back almost all Damage they take, so you'll definitely need some Fire! By the way, they can have up to 9 Heads. Did I tell you to bring Fire?
Needs: Ancient Warped Forest - Hydra Heart
The Hydra Heart is a very rare Drop from Hydras but trust me, it is worth the effort! When it is within your Hotbar, including Main Hand, it will give you Regeneration. But wait, that Regeneration will increase in Levels the less Hearts you have!
Needs: The HydraAsks for:Hydra Heart
- Hydra Cave
Hidden within the Ancient Warped Forests we can find Hydra Caves. You're most likely to accidentally find one when you are wandering around, since they are so well hidden. They are little hollow hills within Ancient Warped Forest with Stone Bricks and Skeleton Skulls within them. You won't find too much Loot within them, mostly just Manuscripts and Skulls. Rarely Gold or Emeralds!
Needs: Ancient Warped Forest - The Other Desert
The Other Desert is the easiest Biome in The Other to identify. It is flat, Sandy, and flat. It is made of Sand, Sandstone, and whatever is beneath it. Plus you can find Cyclops Caves here. There is no Cacti or Dead Bushes but there are more Ice and Fire Mobs here than any other Biome!
Needs: Ice and Fire - In game Guide
The Bestiary is the Guide for Ice and Fire... Okay, is mine broken? Why is it empty? We'll need the Bestiary Lectern in order to add Manuscripts to it to get pages of the Monsters. Just toss both the Bestiary and some Manuscripts into the Bestiary Lectern and select which you want to learn about. This will use up the Manuscripts and add to your Guide.
Needs: Ice and FireAsks for:Bestiary,
Bestiary Lectern
- Ampitheres
Amphitheres are giant Neutral half Bird half Snake Monsters found within The Other Desert, most likely praised as Gods from Mesoamerican Tribes. They have the body of a Snake with the wings and head of a Bird. These wings allow them to Fly above the The Other Desert. They also come in these Colors: Magenta, Red, Orange, Cyan, and Blue. They all have 50 Hearts with no Armor. They don't need Armor when they have Speed! When Flying they won't Attack you, even if you provoked them. Instead they will try running away. If you hit them with a Projectile though, they will come Crashing down and forced to stay on the Ground. On the Ground they will Bite you, Whip their Tail at you, and even use their powerful wings to throw gusts of wind at you!
Needs: The Other DesertAsks for:Amphithere Feather
- Amphithere Arrows
Amphithere Arrows are made by replacing the Chicken Feather with an Amphithere Feather. These Arrows are basically Punch II within their own! When a Mob is Hit with one, they will be Knockbacked and will be sent upwards. I've heard if you use Amphithere Arrows on a Punch II Bow, the Mob will explode when Hit! (This is a lie).
Needs: AmpitheresAsks for:Amphithere Arrow
- Cockatrice
You ever hear people say that Birds are the closest relatives to Dinosaurs? Well, the Cockatrice is why they say that! Cockatrice have the shape and killing power of Raptors from Jurassic Park, while looking almost exactly like Chickens! Technically they are Neutral and have 140 Hearts with 2 Armor Points. They are Neutral like Endermen, don't Hit them, try to Hit them, or look into their Eyes. Yes, Cockatrice Eyes are deadly, if you look into them you'll get Wither, Nausea, Slowness, and Weakness. You can wear a Blindfold to block their Eye Attack but then, they will take that as a threat and use their other Attack. Which is to just Kick you. I don't even blame them, the only reason you'd wear a Blindfold is to kill a Gorgon or a Cockatrice, and I don't see any Gorgons around here!
Needs: The Other DesertAsks for:Witherbone
- Cockatrice Specter
The Cockatrice Specter is made from Cockatrice Eyes and Wither parts. Wait another Eye? Why are we collecting Eyes? With the Specter we can give (some) Mobs Wither III for 2 Seconds. It has a range of about 20 Blocks and does have a Cooldown.
Needs: CockatriceAsks for:Cockatrice Scepter
- The Cyclops
The Cyclops can be found in or around their Caves. They are giant Human like beings. Around 10 Blocks tall and wear only a Wool kilt. Like Humans they can spawn with Beards or not, like some Humans and not others they only have 1 Eye, and definitely unlike all Humans they have a Horn on their head. Cyclops have 650 Hearts and 20 Armor Points. They only have one Attack and that is to pick you up and Bite off your head. Yeah, this Attack does a ton of Damage and ignores Armor. They might also charge at you if you are far away. They can run through some Blocks like Leaves but the rest they'll get stuck on. Their only Attack is very close Ranged, so it is best to fight them from a distance with a Bow or Magic! If you are a good shot with the Bow, you can Hit them in the Eye (seems closer to the Horn) to Blind them! This will do 10 Hearts of Damage and will make it harder for them to find you.
Needs: The Other Desert - Eye of Cyclops
On Death the Cyclops will Drop a few Sheep related Items like Mutton and Wool and even Leather? Very rarely though it might Drop its Skull or its Eye! The Eye of Cyclops, when held will make all Hostile Enemies that are near have Weakness II. I recommend holding it in your Offhand so your Main Hand can use your Weapons!
Needs: The CyclopsAsks for:Eye of Cyclops
- Lightning Dragon Roost
Lightning Dragons will spend their days within their Roosts above the ground. They look just like Fire Dragon Roosts, just instead of Charred it is Crackled! And instead of Gold it is Copper! Yeah, the most difficult Dragon gets the worst Ingot... makes sense. These will be where Stage 1 to Stage 3 spawn.
Needs: Dragons and their Stages, The Other Desert - Cyclop's Cave
Cyclops Caves are fortunately not beneath the Ground! Instead they spawn above Ground in The Other Desert. You can recognize them by their look, which is just a big dome made entirely of Stone! Within the Cyclops Cave you'll find the Cyclops and his Sheep! The Sheeps are within their pens and are either White or Yellow. The Loot in the Cave is mostly related to the Sheep, from Wool to Shears, to even Mutton... On nicer terms there is also Gold Piles!
Needs: The Other Desert - Amphithere Macuahuitl
The Macuahuitl was a Weapon used by many Mesoamerican Tribes. It was usually a Club with Obsidian Shards casted into it. Obsidian in real life is much more fragile, and sharp than in Minecraft. When people were hit with Macuahuitls they would be torn apart with the Obsidian and the chunks of it would break off in them doing irreparable Damage! The Amphithere Macuahuitl is used and made similar to real life, but the Amphithere Feathers just make it even more powerful! Now, it will toss your Enemies back and stun them so hard they can't even defend themselves with a Shield!
Needs: AmpitheresAsks for:Amphithere Macuahuitl
- Won the staring contest
We can Tame Cockatrice in 2 different ways. 1. Rotten Egg 2. Hard work. Toss a Rotten Egg to get a Baby Cockatrice that is tamed. Or survive staring at a Cockatrice for long enough. Tamed Cockatrice will not Hurt you when you look in their Eyes, actually they'll defend you! Like Dogs they will Attack Monsters, Kill whatever Attacks you, and even use their Eye Beams on them!
Needs: Cockatrice, Rotten Egg, Taming Ice and Fire Mobs - Taming the Amphithere
Taming an Amphithere is similar to how Humans Tamed Wolves into Dogs. It involves a lot of biting... First, you'll need to hit a Flying Amphithere with a Projectile to knock it out of the Sky. Then, you can Right Click it to hop on its Back. Like you would with a Horse! But this Horse will swing its head back to Bite you. In order to Tame it, you'll need to Survive each Bite and stay on it. In time it will give up and love you. Once they love you, you can Ride them! The Controls are a bit wonky but once you play with them a bit (and read this Querst) hopefully you'll understand them better! When Riding, you can Press and Hold Space to make the Amphithere Fly upwards. This will make it Fly directly up from where it is at. When you let go, it will start Dropping back to the Ground. When Flying you can use WASD to move in each direction, but you can also use your Mouse Cursor to direct it to Glide upwards or downwards when not using the Space Bar. Like Death Worms, when Riding you can use (G) to Attack with the Amphithere.
Needs: Ampitheres, Taming Ice and Fire Mobs - The Other Soul Sand Valley
No, not like in The Nether. Okay well it is like the one in The Nether. It is full of Soul Sand. Just take out the Fossils and add more Holes and you'll get this one! Plus it is in The Other!
Needs: Ice and Fire - Gorgon Temple
The Gorgon Temple is what safely holds one of the Gorgon sisters. The Temples are massive Stone Brick Structures that spawn in The Other Soul Sand Valleys. Within them you'll need to flip the correct Levers in order to open the Staircase to the Basement where the Gorgon lies.
Needs: The Other Soul Sand Valley - Siren Island
Siren Islands show up in The Other Soul Sand Valley. They are pretty much just little Islands made of Stone Blocks, the only real unique part of them is the Sirens! You might want to wear Earplugs first... their Songs are pretty catchy!
Needs: The Other Soul Sand Valley - Sirens
Sirens look just like Mermaids, half Woman half Fish. The top half is the woman part by the way. And they will change form when aggravated. They spawn in groups in Siren Islands. Don't worry, even being half Fish they can still move on Land to Kill you... just slower. They have 150 Hearts and no Armor. To make up for the lack of Armor they will Hypnotise you with their Song if you aren't wearing Earplugs. Besides Hypnotism, they also have some Attacks. In the Water they will charge at you and Bite you. On land they will smack you with their Claws.
Needs: The Other Soul Sand Valley - A Gorgon
Gorgons were vain women who were cursed for it. Now they have been turned into half Snake half Woman monsters with Snakes for hair. Gorgons have 300 Hearts and 2 Armor Points. They have one very powerful Attack that will kill any Mob they see. Turning them into Stone Statues by looking into their Eyes. This Attack will turn any Mob into a Statue, this will kill the Mob but won't give Drops. This will also instantly kill the Player. Unless you wear a Blindfold! This will give you slight Blindness but will prevent instant Death. Besides that they can also just Hit you.
Needs: The Other Soul Sand Valley - Gorgon Head
The Gorgon Head is the confirmed and only Drop from the Gorgon. It has only 1 use, when you use it, it will be voided. When you Hold Right Click with it while looking at a Mob, then let go, the Mob will be turned into a Stone Statue. The Mob will Die but won't give any Drops...
Needs: A GorgonAsks for:Gorgon Head
- Death Worms
Death Worms are leach like Monsters burrowing through the Sands of the Desert. They have 3 Colors: White, Tan, and Red. They all have the same appearance though. A big toothy mouth, and a Body with dark Spikes on it. That's it! No eyes, noses, ears, or anything else really. They come in tons of different sizes, from barely a quarter of a Block in width, to 3x3 Blocks in width. Their size will determine their Health as well, from 50 Hearts to over 300 Hearts. All have 4 Armor Points though! All Death Worms will dig under Sand and charge at you through it when you are spotted. They will then come up to Bite you! If they are bigger in size some might even leap out of the Sand and come crashing down at you. This will throw Sand everywhere if they are big enough! You'll need to wait for them to come out of the Sand to Attack them... or Light some TNT near them and they'll swallow it!
Needs: The Other Desert - Death Worm Surfing!
We can Tame Death Worms by obtaining a Death Worm Egg, by Killing Death Worms. Just toss the Egg like a Chicken Egg and it'll spawn a Tamed Death Worm. Tamed Death Worms won't act like normal Pets though, they won't follow or protect you... what do they do? For one, they'll grow up overtime gaining more Hearts and size! Also they will wander a certain range from where they were Spawned from. Within that area they won't Attack you or any Passive Mobs, but will Attack Hostile ones! We can also use a Fishing Rod in both Hands, to Ride Death Worms, even if they aren't Tamed! We can Ride them like Horses but we also get an Attack we can use with them by Pressing (G). This Attack is the same way Giant Death Worms will use!
Needs: Death Worms, Taming Ice and Fire MobsAsks for:Fishing Rod
- Death Worm Gauntlet
With some Death Worm Chitin and Death Worm Tongues (plus a Chain Line) we can make Death Worm Gauntlets! These basically act as the dangerous parts of Death Worms. We can Right Click to send the Death Worm Tongue toward Mobs. If it hits them, it'll deal some Damage and pull them toward you. Unfortunately it does have a Cooldown... the Tongue needs to go back in.
Needs: Death WormsAsks for:Death Worm Gauntlet,
Death Worm Gauntlet,
Death Worm Gauntlet
- Ancient Crimson Forest
A rival to the Ancient Warped Forest. This Forest has a Crimson Nylium ground also with Netherrack below. Instead of Soul Trees though, this Forest has Demonic Trees. Ouuu scary!
Needs: Ice and Fire - Pixie Village
While taking a stroll through a Crimson Forest you might hear some giggling. While it might be cute to hear at a park or at home, in the Forests it is a little scarier! But don't you worry, that giggling is very friendly. It is from the Pixies within the Pixie Villages! Pixie Villages are tiny Logs and Mushrooms that have been turned into housing for Pixies!
Needs: Ancient Crimson Forest - Pixies
Pixies are Winged, Glowing, tiny ladies who live within and around their Pixie Villages! They look like Players just closer to a Vexes size. They also come in a few different Colors: Blue, Green, Yellow, Pink, and Purple. This will be important later. They only have 5 Hearts and are entirely Passive! Finally a nice Mob! Instead of slaughtering them (they don't seem to like it, they tend to complain) we can Tame them or enslave them! Don't worry you terrible immoral monsters, enslavement grants more Rewards than murder!
Needs: Ancient Crimson ForestAsks for:Pixie Dust
- Enslavement of Pixies
Jars can be used to capture and enslave Pixies. Yes, of course one of the only Passives Mob in Ice and Fire we'll put through slavery! If it makes you feel better, atleast they make 1 Pixie Dust every few Days. First, simply use the Jar on a Pixie and they'll get Captured in it. Then, you can Break it to set them free or leave it and wait to get Pixie Dust. You'll know Pixie Dust is ready when they are Sitting Down! Just Right Click them to collect it.
Needs: PixiesAsks for:Jar
- Befriending Pixies
Apparently Pixies like Cake. If you hand it to them by Dropping it right at them, they'll become your Friend! When they are your Friend, they will Follow you, unless told to Sit and stay. Here is when their Colors become important, because each Color will give a different Effect to you when near and befriended! Blue: gives Speed. Pink: gives Strength. Yellow: gives Haste. Green: gives Luck. Purple: gives Jump Boost.
Needs: Pixies, Taming Ice and Fire MobsAsks for:Cake
- Pixie Wand
Very rarely Pixies might lose their Wings on Death. They won't need them anymore, they're Dead... but you should still feel bad for Killing them! Or instead of grieving the loss of innocent life you can Craft a Weapon with their remains! Man, you are such a monster. The Pixie Wand will use up Pixie Dust to Shoot a Pixe Beam! These will Damage and give Levitation and Glowing to whatever they Hit.
Needs: PixiesAsks for:Pixie Wand
- Hydra Arrows
Hydra Teeth are a common Drop from Hydras. We can use them instead of Flint to instead of making normal Arrows we can make Hydra Arrows. Hydra Arrows will give the Mob they Hit, Poison, and will give you back some Health they took.
Needs: The HydraAsks for:Hydra Arrow
- Stymphalian Birds
Stymphalian Birds are apparently angry Birds made of Metal. At least, that is my presumption from being near and attacked by them. They are Brown Birds with Grey beaks and talons. They also move in groups and are all Hostile. Stymphalian Birds have 12 Hearts and 4 Armor Points. They have 2 Attacks: 1. is a very basic Attack of just spamming their Feathers at you. They don't do much Damage but have horrible Knockback and are fast! 2. is just a simple Bite which will do more Damage than Feathers. They can also fly at you or retreat very quickly! One Bird by itself isn't much of a problem, but they don't usually come by themselves! It is best to take them on one at a time and quickly get close to them.
Needs: Ancient Warped Forest - Stmphalian Arrows
Stymphalian Feathers can be used to make Arrows instead of Chicken Feathers to make Stymphalian Arrows. These Arrows are harder to Craft but will make up for it! The Arrows fly faster, farther, and won't drop as quickly.
Needs: Stymphalian BirdsAsks for:Stymphalian Arrow
- Stymphalian Dagger
With 2 Stymphalian Feathers (and a Stick) we can Craft a Stymphalian Dagger! It only does as much Damage as an Iron Sword but much faster Attack Speed. Almost twice as fast as normal Swords, and three times as fast as an Axe!
Needs: Stymphalian BirdsAsks for:Stymphalian Bird Dagger
- Death Worm Chitin
All Death Worms will Drop Chitins related to their Color. Chitins can be used to Craft Death Worm Chitin Armor or Death Worm Gauntlets! You'll need to use the same Color Chitins for both of those though, no mix-n-matching.
Needs: Death WormsAsks for:Red Death Worm Chitin,
White Death Worm Chitin,
Tan Death Worm Chitin
- The Other (The Biome)
The Other, different from The Other. The Other is the Biome, while The Other is the Dimension. See how helpful the Color and Bold is? The Biome is made of Ancient Trees and Ancient Grass. As well as having massive Mountains to help distinguish them. I think the Color of this Biome fits Ancient Stone the best!
Needs: Ice and Fire - Ghosts
G-g-g-g-Ghosts! will spawn either from a Cursed Chest being Opened, or from Graveyard Soil at Nighttime. They are Glowing, transparent, and either White, Green, or Blue. Ghosts have 140 Hearts and 2 Armor Points. They will mostly just Hit you like Zombies to Attack you but unlike Zombies, Ghosts can Fly and go through Blocks to keep Hitting you!
Needs: The Other - Phantasmal Blade
Phantasmal Ingots (and Ectoplasm) are Drops only from Ghosts that spawn from Graveyard Soil. We can combine a Phantasmal Ingot with a Dragon Bone Sword to Craft the Phantasmal Blade! Currently, it Attacks like a normal Sword, but when fixed it will shoot out toward Mobs Hitting them even through Blocks!
Needs: GhostsAsks for:Phantasmal Blade
- Trolls
All Trolls will have 500 Hearts and 10 Armor Points. They will swing their Weapons at you to deal a bit of Damage, but if they can't reach you they will smack the Ground with their Weapon to deal more Damage and Knockback! Thankfully Trolls have a weakness! Just like real life Trolls, they hate the Sun and will turn to Stone when exposed to it! If only it wasn't always Nighttime in The Other. All Trolls are around 4 Blocks Tall and have Tusks with Glowing Eyes. They also can all hold Troll Axes and Hammers. Forest Trolls have Grey Skin with no hair but Yellow Eyes. They will hold, along with the Axes and Hammers, Mossy Stone Columns and Tree Trunks. These spawn in Ancient Crimson Forest. Frost Trolls have Light Blue/Grey Skin, with White hair. They will also hold Frosted Tree Trunks and Frosted Columns as Weapons. The spawn in Ancient Warped Forests. Mountain Trolls look like a lighter version of Forest Trolls, but these ones will hold regular Stone Columns and won't hold Tree Trunks. These spawn in The Other Biome.
Needs: Ancient Crimson Forest, Ancient Warped Forest, The Other - Troll Leather and Tusks
Trolls can Drop a dozen different Items! These are mostly determined by their Biome. But all Trolls will Drop Tusks, their Leather, and their Weapons they hold. The Tusks and Leather are both used for Troll Leather Armor.
Needs: TrollsAsks for:Forest Troll Leather,
Frost Troll Leather,
Mountain Troll Leather,
Troll Tusk
- Troll Leather Armor
Troll Leather Armor is made from the certain Biomes of Trolls. The different Biome doesn't change anything besides the look. Each full set will give the Armor Points between Iron and Diamond, at 17 total Armor Points. Each of the Armor will take less Projectile Damage though! Kinda like having Projectile Protection on all your Armor while also being able to get Protection! Plus you'll look like a Troll!
Needs: Troll Leather and TusksAsks for:Forest Troll Leather Boots,
Forest Troll Leather Chestplate,
Forest Troll Leather Helmet,
Forest Troll Leather Leggings,
Frost Troll Leather Boots,
Frost Troll Leather Chestplate
- Hippogryth
Hippogryths are mixtures of Horses and Eagles. Their back half is that of a Horse and their front half is like an Eagle. They are very fast Flyers because of their Wings, they also have 20 Hearts. Hippogryths won't come charging for a Fight but if you get too close they will defend themselves. They will use their Claws to deal a bit of Damage or Kick you high in the air to take Fall Damage. Might be better to try and Tame them... unless you really want the Hippogryth Talon Sword.
Needs: The Other - Rule the Skys with the Hippogryph
Hippogryphs can be Tamed! Just from a distance with Rabbit Feet. Toss some Rabbit Feet near them and they will Eat it. They are like most Tame by Food Mobs, who knows how many they need! They might only want 1 Rabbit Foot while another might need an entire Stack of Rabbits Feet! Once they lay down, that is how you know they are Tamed. Then, you can Shift Right Click it to open its Inventory. Now we can give it Saddles to Ride it, Chests to Store Items, and even Armor! When Flying you can use Space Bar to Fly up, this needs time to accelerate. WASD to move forward, back, left, or right. And (X) to go down. We can even use (G) to Attack Mobs like with a Death Worm!
Needs: Hippogryth, Taming Ice and Fire Mobs - Graveyard
Graveyards spawn commonly throughout the The Other. They look like Graveyards by the way. Here we can find naturally spawning Cursed Chests and Graveyard Soil. We can also find Wither Roses and Skeleton Skulls, as well as Loot within the Cursed Chest.
Needs: The Other - Hippogryph Sword
The Hippogryth Talon is a rare Drop from when a Hippogryth dies. We can use it to make a Sword! This Sword is very similar to an Iron Sword, but will always do a Sweeping Attack. This will Hit every Mob nearby in Range, not just one! Most Swords only do it at a full charge, but the Talon Sword doesn't wait! This will do more Damage making it closer to a Diamond Sword. The Hippogryth Talon is a rare Drop from when a Hippogryth dies. We can use it to make a Sword! Needs: HippogrythAsks for:Hippogryph Talon Sword
- Ice Dragon Roost
Ice Dragon Roosts spawn above the ground as nests for the Stage 1 to Stage 3 Ice Dragons. They are made of Frozen Blocks which are basically just Ice. They are full of Piles of Silver and have Chests, mostly with Silver in them.
Needs: Dragons and their Stages, Ancient Warped Forest - Troll Weapons
All Trolls will hold Weapons. They use these Weapons to try and Kill you. Very rarely they'll Drop their Weapon upon Death. All these Weapons are massive! Yet the Player can still Hold and Use them! They do a ton of Damage but are very slow to Swing.
Needs: TrollsAsks for:Troll's Axe,
Troll's Stone Column,
Troll's Mossy Column,
Troll's Frosted Col,
Troll's Hammer,
Troll's Tree Trunk
- Shiny Scales
Sirens on Death will Drop Prismarine Shards, Crystals, and... Shiny Scales!!! The Shiny Scales can be used to Craft a few Items, including: Tide Guardian Armor, Siren Flutes, and Water Breathing Potions. I am glad they are so abundant then!
Needs: SirensAsks for:Shiny Scales
- Siren Flute
To make the Siren Flute you'll need the previously mentioned Shiny Scales, plus a Siren Tear. Siren Tears are rare Drops from Sirens and will make the Flute or the Banner. The Siren Flute will basically give Weakness 1 Million to the Mob you are looking at. They will fall in Love, and when in Love they won't Attack you. The Flute does have a Cooldown though.
Needs: Shiny Scales, SirensAsks for:Siren Flute
- Fire Dragon Roost
Fire Dragon Roosts are Nests found above the ground made of Charred Blocks and Ash. They will spawn with Stage 1 to Stage 3 Fire Dragons. And the bigger the Dragon, the bigger the Roost! These Roosts will have Piles of Gold along with Chests. The Chests will only hold up to Diamonds, but are still very helpful!
Needs: Dragons and their Stages, Ancient Crimson Forest
