What is Transfer Labels?
2 parts
Transfer Labels lets you move items and fluids between blocks that sit right next to each other. Instead of running pipes or cables, you stick a label onto a block and it handles the transfer. It's a good fit if you want a compact, simple setup, like moving things between neighboring machines or storage.[1]
The pack includes Transfer Labels 0.1.9. It was first added in version 3.0 of the pack or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the modpack.[2]
How you use it
- Place a label on a block by sneak right-clicking the block.[1]
- Open a placed label by holding a label and right-clicking it.[1]
- Remove a placed label by left-clicking it while holding a label.[1]
- Reach through blocks to the labels behind them with the label accessor.[1]
Filtering and speed
The label GUI has several filter types: regulating, exact count, mod and tag. For the filters that use an amount, scroll while holding Shift, Alt, Ctrl or any combination of them to change how much.[1]
You can also speed a label up. Add the same item label to the amount or speed slots to accelerate it.[1]
Unverified The sources don't show where Transfer Labels fits in this pack's progression, whether it appears on the ATM Star path, or how it is crafted, so none of that is covered here.
How do you get started with Transfer Labels?
5 parts
Transfer Labels lets you move items and fluids between blocks that sit right next to each other. You place labels on the blocks and they handle the transfer. Here is the order I'd go in.[1]
Make your first item labels
Start with the item labels. There is an Itemstack Extract Transfer Label and an Itemstack Insert Transfer Label. The pack changed both recipes from the mod's defaults, so don't rely on what you remember from other packs.[3]

Add fluid labels when you need them
Fluids have their own pair: the Fluidstack Extract Transfer Label and the Fluidstack Insert Transfer Label. The pack changed these recipes too.[3]

Place and use labels
- Sneak and right-click a block to place a label on it.[1]
- Hold a label and right-click a placed label to interact with it.[1]
- Hold a label and left-click a placed label to remove it.[1]
Use filters
When you open the label GUI you can pick a filter type: regulating, exact count, mod or tag. Regulating keeps the defined filter amount on the destination. Exact count transfers only if the count matches the filter. Mod and tag transfer only if the mod id or tag matches the one defined in the filter. For filters that have an amount, scroll while holding Shift, Alt, Ctrl or any combination of those keys to change it.[1][4]
Speed things up and reach through blocks
To accelerate a label, add the same item label in its amount or speed slots.[1]
Once you have your labels, craft the Label Accessor. It lets you access labels through blocks. The pack changed this recipe as well.[1][3]

How does Transfer Labels work?
6 parts
Transfer Labels moves items and fluids between blocks that sit right next to each other. You put a label on a block and the label handles the transfer between that block and its neighbour.[1]
Placing, editing and removing labels
- Place a label by sneak right-clicking a block.[1]
- Open a placed label by holding a label and right-clicking it. This opens the label GUI.[1]
- Remove a placed label by left-clicking it while holding a label.[1]
The label types
There is an insert and an extract label for items, and an insert and an extract label for fluids: Itemstack Insert Transfer Label, Itemstack Extract Transfer Label, Fluidstack Insert Transfer Label and Fluidstack Extract Transfer Label.[3]
If you crafted the wrong direction, you don't need to start over. Each insert label can be turned into its extract counterpart with a shapeless recipe, and the reverse works too. These conversion recipes are the mod's own, not pack changes.[3]
Filtering
The label GUI lets you set a filter on what gets transferred. These are the filter types, with the mod's own tooltip descriptions:[1][4]
- Normal: transfers only if it is the same as the filter.[4]
- Exact count: transfers only if it has the same count as the defined filter.[4]
- Mod: transfers only if it has the same mod id as the defined filter.[4]
- Tag: transfers only if it has the same tag as the one defined in the filter.[4]
- Regulating: transfers to keep the defined filter amount on the destination.[4]
For filter types that use an amount, scroll to change it while holding Shift, Alt, Ctrl or any combination of those keys.[1]
Acceleration
You can accelerate labels by adding the same item label in the amount or speed slots.[1]
Reaching labels through blocks
The Label Accessor lets you access labels through blocks.[1]
Crafting in this pack
The pack changed the crafting recipes for the item and fluid labels and for the Label Accessor, so don't rely on the mod's defaults. These are the exact in-pack recipes:[3]

How do you progress through Transfer Labels?
4 parts
Transfer Labels doesn't have a long tier ladder in this pack. Progression is a short chain: craft the basic labels first, then use them to make the Label Accessor. The pack changed the crafting recipes for the labels and for the accessor, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults.[3]
Itemstack labels
The Itemstack Extract Transfer Label and the Itemstack Insert Transfer Label are the item-handling pair. The pack changed both recipes. Here they are as the pack has them:[3]

Fluidstack labels
The Fluidstack Extract Transfer Label and the Fluidstack Insert Transfer Label do the same job for fluids. The pack changed these recipes too.[3]

Switching between insert and extract
If you crafted the wrong direction, you don't have to start over. Each insert label can be crafted into its matching extract label, and the other way around, with a shapeless recipe. These conversion recipes are the mod's own, and the pack didn't change them.[3]

The Label Accessor
The Label Accessor is the last step in the chain. Its recipe is built on the labels above, so craft those first. The pack changed this recipe as well.[3]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use Transfer Labels?
1 part
Transfer Labels has a single quest in the pack, and it sits in the Basic Logistics chapter, which holds 40 quests about moving items and other resources around. The quest is "Transfer Labels" quest.[5]
The chapter opens its themes with a handful of quests that don't depend on any other quest: "Logistics" quest (what logistics is and why you need it), "Pipez" quest, "Mekanism" quest, "Laser IO" quest, "Integrated Dynamics" quest and the Transfer Labels quest. Transfer Labels is shown with no prerequisite, so it isn't locked behind any of the others, and no other quest in the chapter is listed as coming after it.[5]
What the quest teaches
The quest pitches Transfer Labels as the answer when you need to fit a pipe between blocks, and says they work for both items and fluids. The quest text is a how-to rather than a build guide, so here is what it covers.[5]
- Place a Label on a block by sneak right clicking the block.[5]
- Interact with a placed Label by holding another Label or a Label Accessor and right clicking it.[5]
- Remove a placed Label by left clicking it while holding another Label or a Label Accessor.[5]
- Reach through to blocks behind Labels by using the Label Accessor.[5]
- Speed Labels up by putting the same type of Label in the amount or speed slots.[5]
Unverified The quest book entry lists its task only as an item task, and the exact item it asks you to hold or submit isn't shown in the quest data I was given.
