What is MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod: Refurbished?

1 part

MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod: Refurbished is part of this pack at version 1.0.16, using the NeoForge build for Minecraft 1.21.1. It has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 2.2 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the modlist.[1]

Where it shows up in the quests

The pack's quest book touches this mod in the "building_tips" chapter. The quest a quest in "?" has no title, and its task is to obtain the Workbench. It unlocks after another quest in the same chapter, so you'll see it as part of the building-focused questing.[2]

That quest is the only link between the mod and the quest book that the sources show. Since it asks for the Workbench, that's a sensible first item to look for if you want to get started with the mod.[2]

Unverified The sources don't confirm a place for this mod on the ATM Star path, and they don't describe what the mod's furniture does in detail. There's no in-jar guidebook to check either, so treat any progression claims beyond the quest above as unverified.

How do you get started with MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod: Refurbished?

3 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Welcome to the furniture side of the pack! Your first stop is the Workbench. The quest a quest in "?" sits in the Building Tips chapter, right after the Decor Mods! quest, and asks you to make one. It also tells you the Workbench needs Energy to work.[3]

Make the Workbench

The pack has changed the Workbench recipe from the mod's own version, so go by the recipe below and not by what you remember from other packs.[4]

Learn how it crafts

Once it's placed, you pick a crafting recipe from the list and gather the materials. The Workbench searches your inventory, its own storage and neighboring storage blocks for them, so storage next to it saves you a lot of running around.[5]

Tip: Because it checks neighboring storage, park a chest beside your Workbench and keep your common materials in there.[5]

Recolor with dye

You don't need a separate recipe for every color. Many pieces can be recolored in the crafting grid by combining a dye with any item from the same group. For example, a Black Sofa comes from black dye and any sofa.[4]

Crafting Shapeless

Black dye plus any sofa gives you a Black Sofa.

The dark versions of some items are recolors of their light versions, so make the light version first. The Dark Fridge comes from the Light Fridge, and the Dark Ceiling Light and the Dark Electricity Generator follow the same pattern with their light versions.[4]

How does MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod: Refurbished work?

4 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

The sources for this mod are thin on deep machine internals, so this section covers the systems they do explain: the workbench, the post box, the computer's HomeControl app and dyeing. I'm not going to guess at the rest.[4][5]

Workbench

The workbench works from a recipe list. You select a crafting recipe from the list and gather the required materials to craft the item. It searches your inventory, its own storage, and neighboring storage blocks for those materials, so you can keep storage blocks next to it and skip the item shuffling.[5]

Tip: Put storage blocks right next to your workbench. It searches neighboring storage for materials, which saves a lot of running back and forth.[5]

Post box and mail delivery

The post box lets you send packages. You select a mailbox from the list. You can search for a mailbox by name, or search for a player by prefixing the name with @. Then you place items in the package slots, optionally add a message, and click the send button to deliver the package.[5]

  1. Select a mailbox from the list, searching by name or using @ before a player's name.[5]
  2. Place the items you want to send in the package slots.[5]
  3. Optionally include a message.[5]
  4. Click the send button to deliver the package.[5]

Electricity network and computers

The mod's electronics category covers lights, computers, generators and more. Computers run programs, and one of them is HomeControl, which controls the power of devices connected on an electricity network.[5]

A device only shows up in the app if it is connected to the same network as the computer. To make devices easier to tell apart in the app, rename them in an anvil before you place them.[5]

Tip: Name your devices in an anvil before placing them, for example by room. Otherwise you'll end up with a list of identical entries in HomeControl.[5]

Dyeing furniture

Colour variants of many pieces are made by dyeing. In this pack, a dye plus any item from the matching furniture group gives you that colour. Coolers, grills, lamps, sofas, stools, trampolines and wooden toilets all work this way, as do kitchen cabinetry, drawers, sinks and storage cabinets in their coloured sets.[4]

For example, the Black Lamp comes from black dye and any lamp. The Black Toilet comes from black dye and any wooden toilet.[4]

Any lamp works as the base for this dyeing recipe.

Ceiling fans use the same idea, but they go from light to dark. The Acacia Dark Ceiling Fan is made from its light version, the Acacia Light Ceiling Fan, with black dye. The birch fans work the same way, from Birch Light Ceiling Fan to Birch Dark Ceiling Fan.[4]

How do you progress through MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod: Refurbished?

4 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

For this mod the pack's quest book gives you one clear starting point: the Workbench. After that, the in-pack recipes mostly deal with light and dark variants and recolouring, plus a few food items.[3][4]

Unlock the Workbench

The mod's quest is a quest in "?" in the Building Tips chapter, and it comes after the Decor Mods! quest. Its task is to get a Workbench. The quest text says the Workbench needs Energy to work.[3]

The pack changed the Workbench recipe, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's default. This is the in-pack version:[4]

Light and dark variants

Several appliances come in a light and a dark version. You make the dark one by combining black dye with the light one. This covers the Dark Fridge, Dark Stove, Dark Microwave, Dark Toaster, Dark Range Hood, Dark Lightswitch, Dark Ceiling Light and Dark Electricity Generator.[4]

The other dark appliances use the same pattern with their own light version.

Ceiling fans work the same way. For example, the Acacia Dark Ceiling Fan comes from the Acacia Light Ceiling Fan, and the birch, cherry, crimson and dark oak dark fans follow suit.[4]

Recolour your furniture

Coolers, grills, lamps, sofas, stools, trampolines and the coloured kitchen pieces are recoloured by combining a dye with any piece of the same kind. For example, the Blue Sofa comes from blue dye plus any sofa. Toilets work too, but they take a wooden toilet as the base, as with the Black Toilet.[4]

Any wooden toilet works as the base for the dye.

Food items

The mod also has simple food crafting. The items involved are Dough, Wheat Flour, Cheese, Sea Salt, Glow Berry Jam, Toast and Glow Berry Jam Toast. Here are the in-pack recipes for dough, cheese and the jam toast.[4]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod: Refurbished?

This mod shows up in just one place in the quest book: the "building_tips" chapter. There it has a single quest, a quest in "?", which has no title in the pack.[2]

The quest has one item task, the Workbench. That's the only thing it asks for, and no other tasks from this mod appear in the sources.[2]

For order, the quest comes after a quest in "?". You need to finish that one first before the Workbench quest opens up.[2]

Unverified The quest has no description or reward in the available sources, so what it hands out when you complete it is unconfirmed.
